It is truly rare when a human being can look around him at whatever circumstance is happening and be able to say, "This. This is what I was born for. This is the moment when all my life's work comes to fruition. This is why I am here..." This, John Campbell, is that moment for you. Thank you for being a voice of fact, reason, honesty and real passion for us in this-humanities darkest hour. May God bless and keep you and your's safe and healthy.

I live in Italy and really the news reports every day here are just so heartbreaking. I have decided to watch only Dr Campbell's daily updates and that's it. If you get depressed I think your immune system can worsen so I have to try to get my mind off this in some way. Even if he gives dramatic news I don't know why the way he says it makes me think that yes it is tragic but we will get through this.

Also: watching Dr. Campbell's videos (and Peak Prosperity) has kind of become the highlight of my day. I wish, of course, that these videos didn't need to exist, but the information that they're getting out on a daily basis is phenomenal. PES LEGEND - yes, the problem is that viruses mutate. The big question will be- will it mutate into a lower, less virile form of itself, stay basically the same or worse? From what I have read so far it seems to be the former, less virile. One thing’s for sure, this should be a huge wake-up call to start treating nature with the respect it deserves. No more cruel treatment of animals anywhere in the world. No more producing bio-logical weapons that are meant to be used to infect people- the concept is abhorrent. Humans now need to learn to be properly human but that will only happen when enough of us wake up.

That way older folks are not dealing with the huge and rude crowds of those younger than themselves and actually have a chance to purchase those items flying off the shelves because of panic buying.

@macmcleod1188
@macmcleod1188 4 года назад
The number of new cases in the US is increasing faster per day than Italy. It's going to be worse here. 16000 known cases by next Friday. 112000 known cases the Friday after that. Those are baked in. The question isn't whether we hold it to 200,000 new cases Friday after that or if we go to 800,000 cases.
@kathrynck
@kathrynck 4 года назад
The population difference between Italy and the US is about 4 fold. So on a per capita basis, it's slightly less "immediate" than that. But that only shifts things relative to Italy by 10 more days. We're at least 10 days behind most places in testing though, so it's a wash. This week the US ramps up from 10,000 available tests, to 1.9 million available tests. So the numbers in the next 2 weeks will be rising extra fast, as the virus spreads while we also catch up with testing backlog. It will look like an insane increase, but it's just half insane, half testing catch up.

Just been watching matt hancock, UK health secretary, basically falling apart in parliament! Apparently he had a chat with Dr Tedros, and is now scrabbling for tests!!! hmmm To anyone out there who finds all this really overwhelming, you can at least get reliable and hopeful information from Dr Campbell. I had a weepy moment earlier, im not really a weepy person, but we all have people we care for and want the best for them and some governments are not helping matters. One thing I learnt when I was going through horrible health problems ( many surgeries, sepsis, weird complications etc) 20 yrs ago is 'take things a day at a time'. If I had tried to overthink what lay ahead I would of fallen apart, you cannot force whats ahead but we can do beneficial tweaks to improve the outcome. ( sorry to waffle ) Everyone that watches this channel are going to make a difference just by practicing and understanding what DR CAMPBELL talks about. My final comment is watch your favourite comedy, i'm digging out all my old Bill Hicks DVDs . Good luck all xxx

Yes I partially watched this too, it was disgusting how one MP asked what to do in the case of a constituent who has to self isolate and has no friends or family to bring him food, and he can't get anything delivered because he is self isolating - and Hancock just said "people have to help each other"! Hell, the man had clearly stated he does not have anyone! As someone who also has nobody, this is what scares me, potentially being stuck with no access to food supplies for weeks on end if I get this virus!

@@t.johnson2966 Trudeau is holding back tests. The provinces can't test everyone they want to. They also can't buy more ventilators on their own or process their own tests...they all have to be sent to Winnepeg. he also refuses to use the quarantine act and the provinces don't have the power to make isolation mandatory. they're not trying to kill us...at least not all of us. They want us all to be infected so the virus won't interfere with supply chains in the future. This is what they mean by a science based approach. I live in Oslo. My workplace closed down as of Thursday last week, like many others. I decided to stay at home, only get groceries once every 3 days. Today was shopping day. There was a young woman in the shop, who was out of control coughing. We were just standing there with the cashier, looking at each other worried while I paid. I went home, stripped everything, washed the groceries. Life goes on. But I wish I had said something. I wish I had asked her where she lives, I could have offered to deliver her groceries for her. Make her feel like it's okay to stay at home, even if it's just a cough. Because if our cashiers and shop assistants get sick, that will bring on a new cluster. But not just that. It is the right thing to do. Next time I see someone in public who is unwell, I will offer to help them stay at home. I am young, I can put myself at risk, so that the general public doesn't have to.

I live in a county adjacent to Los Angeles, CA. We only have had about 5 cases of coronavirus and they were from people who traveled abroad. The county has closed down schools, clubs and bars. A lot of people are still in public shopping at stores. Thankfully I bought all the emergency food I needed a month ago because since last Friday the people who weren't paying attention woke up and rushed the grocery stores. You can't find any more rice, beans and pasta. Very little soup is left on the shelves. The government is having to tell people to calm down, but I don't think it's going to work. I fully expect unrest if this quarantine goes on for months. When they find a few grocery store employees infected with coronavirus and shut down the store to clean is when I expect all hell to break loose. People might start looting. I'm taking extra security measures to make sure nothing in my car is easily seen from outside and that all my windows in my room are locked. I've worked in security and a lot of bad people live in my city who will break in cars and homes.

I'd like to share my experience in Taiwan,. Hopefully Dr. Campbell reads this. As you know, Taiwan has had one of the biggest successes against the virus of any country, even though we are closely related to China and had many tourists moving back and forth during the lunar new year at end of January. I was in Hong Kong during that time. One thing I noticed, virtually all Asians were wearing face masks, but almost no western people were. In Taiwan, many people regularly wear masks outside and on public transport. Many store clerks wear them. I think its been like that since the SARS epidemic. When the coronavirus was announced, basically everyone started wearing masks all the time here. Other than that, there was very little change to the daily life. There wasn't much "social distancing" happening. No schools or large events cancelled that I know of. They did restrict flights from China and a few other hot spots, but that wasn't well enforced I think. Some bigger businesses will scan you for a fever, and some will also require you to wash your hands with alcohol. Other than that, there hasn't been much of a change here. So it seems that the face mask is the key to preventing the spreading. Just my opinion and observation.

@roweenie
@roweenie 4 года назад
Excellent point. This virus has been likely circulating longer than we think, and there's no real way of knowing who died of what before we "sat up and took notice". In point of fact, taking into consideration the lack of testing, many of those death rates are highly suspect, and the Dr even makes this point in this video (8:42 - "we haven't got a clue", referring to the overall number of those infected - you can't get an accurate percentage if one of the numbers is an unknown). Figuring in the many thousands that may be experiencing mild symptoms and not seeking healthcare, and/or those that have not been tested, that CFR gets driven down to rates that are on a par with influenza. I totally agree that we need to take this virus very seriously, but it's also important to point out that those inflated CFR figures are what's driving panic at this moment, and that's not good, either. Unless, of course, it takes panic for us to do something about it.

Something like jogging with some upper body movements like moving your hands or slightly turning your chest from side to side. Remember to control your breathing. Breathe slowly, don't breathe erratically with your already damaged lung. Make sure to last at least an hour doing the exercises of your choice. This is like induced fever, and will burn the virus(or at least the fatty infectious outer layer) that is infecting you at the middle of your chest. Best of luck.

You're then not flattening the curve, but just moving the curve. In a later stage the virus will spread again and almost nobody will have immunity. The one positive thing people can learn in these dire times is the importance of savings. At any point in your life you should be able to survive at least 3-6 months with zero earnings. I understand that saving can be tough sometimes, but for majority in the western world, even those earning the minimum wage, it is absolutely possible. You can ride a bike or walk to work instead of driving, you don't need the newest iphone, you don't need the newest games, you don't need to go to a pub every weekend, and you don't need to live in the center of a big city. I speak from experience, in the past I've worked as a pizza delivery driver for 1,5 year, lived completely on my own and, if necessary, could easily survive at least another 6 months using just the money I saved.

The streets are subdued, people are still going about their business but the numbers are halved at least. The people in my neighborhood are all very aware and a little tense, though very patient and kind to one another in the stores. As for the stores, no bottled water, no fresh produce, no frozen produce, no powdered milk, no canned veg, no bread, and no toilet paper or paper towels. Fun fact when I got home last evening from the store, I tossed on the counter a couple of packages of birthday napkins covered in balloons and told my son that it looked like taking a shit just got alot more festive in our household! Yes, no kidding. People can jog outside, swim in the ocean, or do yoga at home. So bizarre how oblivious everyone is right now. Everything in our area is closed now, which is great. People are much happier now. Cheers.

Hi John, you've made a mistake with the Italy death numbers. It should read 1809 not 1089. Thanks for your video series, it's incredibly helpful.

Finnish people don't listen to some Chinese people's opinions, some anti-communist Chinese already warned since January, should close the borders and don't travel, now 95%infected people because of travel abroad. If Finland learn from Russia since January, it is still a quiet place.

Italy was around 3500 new cases 2 days ago, around 3600 1 day ago, and 3300 today. Seems like it might be going down (hopefully)... That would be a great news!
