just regular normal Japanese thangs ! crazy how he is poppin off now. 17 straight perfect innings at the age of 20. all whilst throwing to an 18 year old ROOKIE catcher LMAO!@
@John M you need to realize that Japanese league relies heavily on contact not power, it is insane how he struck out 13 in a row and tossed 17 consecutive perfect innings while striking out 35 batters(the record is still going). Also NOT ALL MLB HITTERS ARE ALL STAR LEVEL. Many mlb hitters will not be able to put up good numbers in NPB due to the difference in league environment, you can simply look at how Adam Jones is performing in Japan rn
@John M I won’t deny the fact that their hitting skill is worse than the big league, but both the leagues have progressed throughout the years. Current NPB is stronger than it ever was, and his stats is better than what Tanaka and Darvish had when they were in NPB. Plus he has better velo and body-built, and he’s not throwing 120 pitches every single game like what Darvish and Tanaka used to do. By no mean am I putting him in the hall of fame level, but I do have faith in him that he could be an all star caliber pitcher in mlb
Americans already want to take another top star from the Japanese leagues. Totally unfair to Japanese fans who love the game more than the Americans now do. (Padded rugby and basketball are top in US now). Let Japan have their stars for awhile then have them go chase dollars later
The ones get famous with the better physical abilities. Being taller and heavier gives them advantages. If he is an average sized japanese guy, he would not be here now.
