I’ve noticed he does what a lot of world class midfielders and attackers do (Messi the biggest culprit) is he draws opponents 1-3 towards him leaving so much space for forwards to get into and has the passing ability to back it up. I hope United make this young man the centre of Uniteds midfield
That’s what a Korean ex player was saying on a Korean RU-vid channel. He draws the defenders to him by taking a few touches instead of doing one touch pass.
I get the comparison with Pogba because of how silky he is on the ball. The difference however is that Mainoo doesn't do it to be flashy. He has a knack of almost always doing exactly what needs to be done to get out of a tight situation. And usually that understanding is a result of a lot of experience. But this guy hasn't played a full season yet. Looking for an 18 year old with 20 years experience... Kobbie's your man.
I 100% agree. It’s the economy of his movements. Nothing is wasted, nothing for show. He’s a special talent and I think ultimately will be a far greater player than Pogba.
This is why you let the kids play. United has always built from within and having a top 5 academy in the world. It's there, and finally being used properly.
When Mainoo got injured, you could tell how good he was because of ten hags immense disappointment. He knew he could have altered the course of the season.
Did any body notice that my guy put 4 or 3 players and all struggling to take aball from him. Camlly gently man he is special i hope he improve is game long shooting ability will be good for his arsenal.
The part where Liverpool fans are wrong is comparing Mainoo with Elliot, two completely different players… if Elliot wants to come into England team He has to put Cole Palmer numbers and performance.
I hear they made him play as a striker and winger at the academy to round him in the technical skills needed to excel as a midfielder. It's why he can both thread an unreal pass and go past opponents like they were scarecrows on a farm.
Worse than the news media,it's the social media that ruins young players eventually. Why not just leave the kid alone instead of uploading unnecessary videos.
