2nd Vikrant, if ordered now would be ready in 6-7 years and not 10+ years as this is a tried design. This will be before TEDBF is ready. That means aircraft ordered now should also account for IAC-2. It makes sense to order 57 - 26 each for IAC-1 and IAC-2 and 5 reserves. Each of these can hold 26 fixed wing aircraft. Given availability of 70%, maybe more should be ordered?

I think Super hornets would be better choice. Super hornet is cheaper and battle tested, and it would be easier to replace them in future with tedbf or other indigenous aircrafts.

Instead of purchasing we should rent one platform for 10 to 15 year to fill the gap of TEDBF cz honestly both fa-18 and rafale m are not for stobar operations...no doubt both of these are proven platforms but the stobar aircraft carrier will limit their performance...hence renting would be a good option according to me and we should also focus in building larger(than vikrant class) carriers which are catobar type and nuclear and conventional subs.... Rookie question: How an aircraft carrier will defend itself in case of attack by 40-50 Kamakaji drones or some other normal or sophisticated drone attack? Aren't they sitting ducks. Guns like AK 630 ,SAM might be more effective than missiles. Many Navies might have done some real time exercise in such schenarios any report which are available ?

Rafale is the choice of Indian Navy but for political reasons India may go with the Boeing f-18...we need to keep Uncle SAM happy in some front to get the foreign investments coming to our stock market and avoid economical sanctions for buying Russian Oil and military equipment...

I hate defence channels instead of analysing they impose their opinion or fake news. So confusion arise and many viewers goes in depression and start critizing Arm force or PSUs Hence I just choose reliable channels only.

India needs to acquire 100 submarines than the aircraft carriers.. Submarines are cheaper and deadlier.

India needs 5 carriers : travel in pair on each side and one in port (for repairs/refit). Its pure brain dead leadership that does not differentiate between Rafael-M and Hornet. Filters are missing when imports are concerned. TEDBEF/Mig-29K orders should be given today itself and funds released. No need to dive in astrology when you already know AEROSPACE ENGG and Maritime security. So plan, manage and execute or learn from South Korea/Japan how a small nation can achieve what 1 billion+ cannot.

More than confusion there is delay in decisions (I understand it's meant to make negotiations and avoid corruptions) but at the cost of national security?? Atleast dismiss this CCS and make a new body which includes more defence personnel and PM and Def Mins.... And meetings should be conducted every month (officers meet) and frame requirements and call upon political head to finalize... Current CCS is too old to be there .. still haven't released funding for most of our flagship projects...

Vikrant will never become war capable unless the induction of TEDBF as less number of fighter jets being procured and Mig29k which is a soviet era fighter jet which almost all new fighter jets of adverseries can easily counter with mordern technology for now our aircraft carriers could be only used for training but not in any war if used it will get destroyed by enemies

US NAVY operates one type of AC from its 10 carriers. Considering IN is less than 5% of US navy. It will be foolish that IN is even thinking about FA-18. How can they think of 4 types of AC? 1. Mig29-K -> Vikramaditya 2. NLCA -> Shore based 3. FA-18 -> Vikrant 4. TEDBF -> Vishal. Even buying Rafale-M having commonality with IAF, is nothing less than a logistic nightmare. How are they going to mange interoperability? I am big fan if Indian navy. But this is all rubbish. With inventory of all those spares, weapons, technicians etc. IDK where are they going to park the aircraft. Lift would be the only parking space left. France has failed to provide technology transfer in scorpene class....after getting rafale orders from other countries ditched IND who was ordered it first and don't want to manufacture rafale in IND or transfer technology....same in many defence deals...but french self goal was in G20 meeting trying to blackmail India against russia just to make happy domestic liberandus.
