100 Things To Do In Oregon Before You Die.
If you have ever lived or visited Oregon you know it is beautiful and there is a lot to see and do. This list has 100 Things to do before you die in Oregon. This is an Oregon bucket list, count how many you have already seen and let us know in the comment section.
Oregon gets a lot of bad press these days. Most of the press has to do with what goes on in Portland. Oregon is so much more than Portland. If you visit you will know what I am talking about.

On my only visit to Oregon I drove the entire length of Highway 101 from Brookings to Astoria, incredible scenery.

When I was 17 I hitch hiked to Oregon from Chicago. That was 50 years ago. I have since been to many states but always thought Oregon was the best. Every type of geography within hours.

I'm probably biased because I'm a native Oregonian, but I've driven cross country and nowhere compared to my home state. Like you said, the state literally has it all within a few hours' drive.

@@jenniferriggs1900 It is astonishing how quick the geography can change in Oregon, much of it has to do with rain shadows, I grew up in Southern Oregon and two places just 30 minutes apart both in a valley have 18 inches less rain per year than the other I think just because one place is behind a higher and wider part of the Coast Mountains.

Instead of going to Hawaii, or some place like that, my husband and I went to Oregon for our honeymoon. We visited wineries, and several other places you mentioned. Oregon was beautiful, and we had a great time. One of my favorite things was when we had dinner at a restaurant on a cliff overlooking the ocean at sunset.

My husband and I lived near Portland 20 years ago. I lost count of how many of these places I've been to but some of them I never heard of. The most fun we ever had was going the Multnomah Falls in the rain. We had the place to ourselves. We also loved downtown Newport.

Scratch Voodoo Donuts and go to Blue Star Donuts! Nobody ever mentions Blue Star but if you're a foodie who actually likes the taste of food Blue star's definitely superior. If you'll notice he only said that Voodoo Donuts were "interesting" not that they tasted good, because they don't.. they're bland and the only thing exciting about them is the way they look lol. I always recommend Blue Star because the donut itself actually tastes like gourmet quality and their toppings and flavor combos are way more decadent and delicious! 😋😋😋

I’m surprised the Valley of Giants wasn’t on this list…unless you don’t know about it. There are some huge old growth there. It’s a 51 acre forest. It has some of the largest Douglas firs and western hemlockss in Oregon. It’s located about 30 miles west of Falls City. Also the West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon is pretty cool. It’s our family favorite. They often have baby animals that you are able to pet, hold and sometimes bottle feed, like a Lion cub or other large cats.

As a long time Oregonian (almost 50 years), this is one of the more thorough lists I have seen. I have been to many of these locations and Oregon is as beautiful, varied, and interesting as this list indicates. One of the most iconic (second only to Multnomah Falls) falls in Oregon, and inextricably left out of this otherwise thorough list, is Silver Falls state park. 10 falls, several of which you can walk behind the falls, and only minutes from Salem and the I-5 corridor. The drive up will also be scenic and showcase what makes the mid-Willamette valley area so special.

Also the Devil's Punchbowl

I really like this video. I was born and raised here in Oregon. I bleed green.!!! First thanks for multnomah falls. Mom and sister's ashes went off the bridge. It was a rainy day so it went okay. It still reminded me of st.helens eruption. You missed the 4th largest spouse tree 6 miles out of seaside. Its not standing anymore. But it's still there. Mary's club downtown on Broadway and burnside. That is a vary important landmark. I still was very impressed with your video. Thank you for your time. The Tillamook Air Museum used to consist of two equally huge hangars, until a massive fire destroyed one. My stepdad was a Tillamook firefighter who fought that fire. I was staying the night with a friend when it happened, and her dad drove us as close as we could get to see what was happening, which was only a hundred feet or so onto Long Prairie Road from the highway. The heat was so intense. The total loss of that hangar was super sad for the Tillamook community.

I lived in Portland for 27 years starting in 1963, when I was mid third grade. I explored every inch of Oregon and some of Washington State too. We camped at Wallowa Lake, Crater lake and Diamond lake. I skied on Hood, Bend, and fished every river. The Steens are really cool, there are wild horses in the gorge. Columbia River system is incredible. You know I am talking myself into coming back. I am in southeast South Dakota right now from Polson, Montana. Why SD? What have you heard about it? It's not in the news for a reason. It's beautiful and underrated but can't hold a candle to Oregon. Loved the video Briggs, Thank you.

Visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Tunnel Beach in Oceanside (if it's re-opened after the landslide), along with Briggs' recommendations of the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the sea lion caves, and Thor's Well. Oh, and Devil's Punchbowl! Oceanside, Pacific City, and Yachats are perfect quintessential Oregon beach towns, in my opinion. All great places for an overnight stop on your drive.

I agree with the previous comment. Consider Depoe Bay for possible whales and a great little restaurant on the north end of the bay on the water's edge called Tidal Raves. My profile picture was taken inside that restaurant. Or just next to the entrance. If you blink, you'll miss the D River, the shortest in the world. I think all the rooms at the Inn at Spanish Head in Lincoln City face the ocean. Hope you enjoy your visit!

I lived up in Elkhorn Canyon on Little N Fork River about a mile from road. George A my “next door” neighbor; died in fire. His mom’s family owned the Jawbone Flats area. Sad governor held off allowing fire to be put out before it got out of hand. Sheriff’s office said drones measured ground temps at highs of 5000 degrees. Even melted our cast iron wood stove. US forest boundary sill closed up there. Big fans of your “station”

Former Oregon resident here (Coos Bay/North Bend 1978-81), then up to SE Alaska until 2000 when I moved back down to Vancouver WA (just North over the Columbia from Portland) to work at PDX for a local Airline. So I can honestly say I've done close to a third of the activities on your list of Oregon things to do. Two things I'd add to ur list are something you can only find in Oregon, one is nearly Free, the other not so much. The Columbia River Gorge was mentioned for its Beauty, Waterfalls, view locations and Bridges but if you happen to be heading there mid-Summer on into the Fall there's a Self-Guided Tour you can take called "The Fruit Loop" out of Hood River. It's a 35 mile run to "pick your own" orchards, Farms w/ the best fruit you'll find anywhere, Wineries for lunch or some tasting and a couple roadside stores that have bakeries and other treats for sale. Stop where you want, spend as much time as you want, there's nothing to it except a Map showing the stops in the hills above Hood River Ore. The second "only in Oregon" event would be a stay at The Spanish Head Inn in Lincoln City on the cliff's overlooking a Huge beach. The Inn is built into the side of a cliff looking West. The rooms have huge glass windows and doors overlooking the beach and being there during one of those famous Oregon Coastal Storms is absolutely Amazing. It's a Great experience any time of the year. Probably one of the most memorable places to stay overnite in Ore.

Another nice visit and attraction here in Oregon is Hood River and not only a good place to wind surf, see cute little shops, etc but it has the Hood River Railroad...it has such beautiful scenery and stops for a bit in this cute little place where there's an ice cream shop, wine tasting, and I think theres even a flower and fresh fruit/produce stand that sales produce from the Hood River area (Hood River is known for its orchards and produce growing). Now I haven't been there in quite a few years now but am pretty sure they still run that rail tour and it's definitely a worth while visit/trip

I am a senior and can't hike anymore so my sister and I did things like go to The Mill Casino and Spirit Mountain Casino, not just for gambling, but they had some really fun concerts and shows. Also liked trying different restaurants like Shirley May's in Albany (looks like it's now closed) and Arlene's in Elkton (probably the dirtiest place still operating, but fabulous food). Also toured the coast, which is absolutely beautiful, went a few times to the Tillamook Cheese Factory (for the ice cream), toured Seaside and Cannon Beach, as well as Astoria and took a day trip on a local train that had a great Sunday brunch. Everything about my life there was pretty wonderful. Wish I was back there.

My favorite place to go is the Portland Puppet Museum. Fascinating changing exhibits, fabulous close up puppet shows, some workshops. Must see in person! Ask questions! Very personal experience. Definitely go!

I’ve live here 21 yrs and been to 25 of those places you mentioned, although you mentioned Mt Hood twice, and looking at the sunset thru the forest isnt a place but an experience.

When I went to the Tillamook air museum half of the hanger was a Lumber yard. I picked up my load and walked over to see the Museum. I had a time limit so I could not see everything . A plain called the Guppy was there . Just so happens that it's successor the Super Guppy is here in El Paso.

Having been a lifelong oregonian ive been to these places Somehow you left out stump lake the head of the flumes that caeeied water to areas around roseburg oregon and you missed tokatee falls on the north umpqua river the owners of the store at tokatee had a bobcat that was a sort of pet still in the late 1950's this area was a semi popular destination in the 50's still I still remember crowds at steamboat springs in the 50's.....

I grew up in the Columbia Gorge...Cascade Locks. I have since moved to Colorado, but recently went back for a visit...the Gorge is as beautiful as it has always been! There are more things in the video that I never heard of than ones I've visited. I think Bonneville Dam should be added to your list. The hydro electric power plant and the fish ladders are pretty fascinating!

More suggestions: Butteville Store (oldest store in Oregon, operating since 1863) Champoeg Park and its history museum (very influential to Oregon's history)

Briggsy family and I would like to cover things to do in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The history the American inspiration for any and all and the best tourist spot we never heard of our whole lives. Living in Ohio am traveling since we were old enough to. Please look into the upper peninsula

Correction: St. John’s bridge is in NW Portland, not SE.

Just watching this today for the first time and came to the comments just to see if anyone else caught this. I have a Portland visit coming up soon, my 2nd actually not just driving through, my 3rd in Portland, and my 4th in Oregon. I have many of these so far on my done and to-do list. I was hoping he'd correct this about the St. John's bridge by now. Oh well. I still prefer his presentations. I still like Portland and Oregon despite recent years, but I live in peaceful NW Montana, so no complaints.

Being a former letter carrier in Portland, isn't it in North Portland? Never worked out of St. John's station so not really sure.
