I loved the series, hope you keep making videos even though the research project is over.

I'll certainly make a video with group results once we have been given them in september. I'll also try and keep some personal videos going, both on my wild food journey, travelling and other areas.

Im going to miss these vids when its all done. I would love to see more of the foraging how to's, with seasonal things youre eating. I would be fascinated to find how how the nutritional value of these wild meals compares to 'normal shop food'. I understand thats more expensive lab testing though. Has monica spoken about looking at that?

I may try to make more videos as time goes but not as frequent as editing takes some time! I'm sure I can do some foraging how tos, it did cross my mind. I think it would cost too much to do lab tests without funding. Would be fascinating to know though! Monica didnt mention that as part of the project I'm afraid. We have limited funding.

Fascinating! How are you monitoring your blood sugar ongoingly like that? Surely you're not pricking yourself all day long?! I've heard of monitors that can detect blood sugar levels when worn externally, but I also heard they're quite expensive. I'd be most interested in hearing all about what you're using, including the brand name and model and how you use it, etc. A possible future video? Kudos for you having the courage and commitment to listen to your body and honor it's request to continue eating wild foraged foods, despite the obvious challenges you spoke of socially, etc. Seeing your conflicted agony at having to consume those awful muffins in the last video was painful to watch I can understand why you are craving this way of eating. It would really be amazing if you could find a core group of people who would like to eat foraged food and create a community committed to that, perhaps even living all on the same property together. That would pretty much alleviate the isolation issue (or at least reduce it greatly), as well as allow for a coordinated effort in gathering, processing and storing your foods as a community to optimize your efficiencies. Working together over time, you would learn what it takes to get through the entire year eating foraged foods; gathering and preserving things throughout the year when they're in abundance to get through leaner times, etc. It would also be helpful to have a community of people (and their friends) on the lookout for fresh roadkill as well to stock your meat larder. Perhaps you could even create relationships with "sister" foraging communities in different parts of the country or even further afield in Europe/the world and share/trade things that each of you has in abundance but which the other lacks. Two of my heroes, Scott and Helen Nearing, grew the vast majority of their food and would trade some of their maple syrup and blueberry harvests for things like oranges and pecans from friends down south (they lived first up in Vermont (maple syrup) and later in Maine, USA (blue berries). While they were vegetarians, at times even vegan, I would think that there might be ways to create products, foods or services that you could trade for wild meats that hunters get whilst culling but don't need for their families or something as well. For eggs and fowl you could have quail and a variety of other fowl that free ranged on your property, etc. I'm really looking forward to seeing the test results of the entire Wild Biome Project community and seeing the trends in the group over the course of the experiment. I do know, as you're finding, that it's critical to learn how YOUR body responds to various foods, because there are people who do fabulously well on raw cow's milk, others who can only tolerate A2A2 milk, others who only do well on sheep or goats milks and cheeses or only forms a fermented dairy, and still others who simply do NOT do well on any dairy products whatsoever. The same is undoubtedly true for various grains, fruits, nightshades & other vegetables, seafoods, meats, etc. But with a year of systematically studying your body's reactions to things, you should be able learn pretty comprehensively what your body does best on. Can you imagine if there was a year, or at least a semester of every child's life where, as a part of their education in health, they did a similar project of keeping a food diary, eating different kinds of foods of all stripes and monitoring how their body responded to all those various foods? By the time they graduated secondary school they would truly knew what food and drink their body did and did not tolerate well, and exactly how it reacted to each! What an amazing thing to understand about yourself heading in to your adulthood. The pharmaceutical companies, surgeons and processed food and drink companies wouldn't be too happy about it, as their profits would plummet to nothing! 😃 Honestly, it would transform health in the world (mental and physical, and with that kind of connection to themselves and the source of their food, I believe the way such a generation would live on the Earth would begin to change, and over several generations change dramatically for the better, causing the human race to begin to actually start living in balance with the Earth again! Ah, one can dream...

The sensor only lasted two weeks and it is out now. It was provided by zoe who were sponsoring us but yes they can be costly. Libre 3 is the app I used and I think you can get a free trial with them! But otherwise £53 which isnt too bad considering what it does. Yes I'm considering trying sheep milk I think. The time I know I was fine on milk was the 3 or 4 years I had only goat milk to drink. I may order another sensor later on to see how it reacts to sheep milk but will see.

In a previous video I put the sensor in. But after that it's as simple as scanning and done.

What do you mean "in." Where and how does the sensor go "in?" Is it something ypu insert under your skin or something?!

@@carolewarner101 oh no it just sticks to your arm. Theres an applier with a needle that jabs the blood sugar monitor part under the skin and it just sticks on your arm.

@@RichardMawby Yeah, I just watched a video of one being applied, which made me remember seeing you do that. Is there a needle on that pad that pierces your shin, or just adhesive? I wonder how it can sense blood sugar if it's not actually in contact with your blood...wonders never cease!
