ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FOODS | what I eat every week

These are the anti-inflammatory foods I eat every week to reduce inflammation in my body. An anti-inflammatory diet can help with reducing joint pain and arthritis, healing the gut (key if you have celiac, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's or IBS), getting rid of eczema and psoriasis, and keeping other autoimmune conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis in check. It's also beneficial if you suffer from anxiety or depression.
I became well versed in wholesome, anti-inflammatory foods several years ago when I embraced a whole foods diet. After being diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases in two years I realized my body was fighting massive immune system inflammation and I needed to provide reinforcements. Those reinforcements came in the form of groceries.
Watch the video for the list of anti-inflammatory foods - it's what I eat every week. And enjoy the full blog post below all the healthy recipes on my website!

I am planning to trying perhaps this summer (in northern hemisphere). For me seabuck thorne berries, ginger and tumeric has been just a pure healing power. 😍

Downshiftology I’m so glad you said this. The important thing here is to study and be aware. Example. I have type two diabetes. Due to the concentration of sugar at one time making smoothies is not the best choice to make. Instead I should stick with heating maybe a palms worth of berries whole. Is this the correct thinking?

My favourite quick snack is guacamole toast. For the bread I use a healthy sourdough type and toast it until it is just golden. Lots of fresh squeezed lemon juice in the guacamole too. I’ve been living with MS for 17 years (I’m 32 now), and now Rheumatoid Arthritis is added to the MonSter mix. I’ve been putting off changing my diet throughout my 20’s but now with both autoimmune diseases I have no choice. I think it’s a safe bet that auto immune diseases often come in clusters (not just one) and a change in diet is a must if one wants to live a longer, less painful, and healthier life. Ouch, you waited for long. Well hopefully you'll heal. Mine came on quicker, I nearly died within a year so I had no choice but now the three pages on A4 full of symptoms are a lot better. Six years or so. I took a lot of bone broth powder or freshly made too (with organic chicken bones, grass fed organic ghee, organic coconut oil, ACV and some salt. Also the fat from chicken skin helps, beef fat too. You'll likely have inflammation affecting your brain and cells, they need protection and healing). And fasting helps, A Lot (I do intermittent sometimes and longer every few months max). I do recommend a daily salad, some nutritional yeast maybe (it depends on how you are perhaps as certain foods would mess me up and it varies), some cooked spinach could help, fish also too. The right gut flora to digest certain foods properly is essential, but how you get them and what you need now, I don't know. It's a long road, but very necessary. Just as you think you've felt the worst, you still haven't. Never have. I've experienced emotions and physical symptoms I never even thought of. Meditation could help, I used no focus tools and just went for a deep, "blank mind", meditation. Took away thought.

I'm sorry, but this isn't necessarily correct. There are actually at least 5 different strains/species of salmon, and all look a bit different from each other. There are wild caught salmon that look more orange than red.

I enjoyed learning about foods that are anti-inflammatory. For all you younger People watching, take care of your health, because as you get older you can experience different health problems at the same time which can make meal planning that much more difficult. Foods that are ok with one health problem may not be ok for the other health problem or problems you may have. It gets real tricky! 🙄

Recent discovery for me is to use flax seeds instead of eggs in recipes, as eggs can be very inflammatory. Put one desert spoon of flax seeds into a coffee grinder, mix with three desert spoons of water. It works well in bread or baking recipes or even things like salmon fishcakes to bind everything together. Great Channel by the way.

Wow! Great information. Thank you for such a well presented video. I have massive inflammation due to MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) from moving into a new home. It is LITTLE known that exposures to everyday chemicals/toxins create inflammation. New paint, new furniture, scented laundry products, cleaning products, plug ins, aerosols, etc. are a source of highly inflammatory responses in our bodies. Recently I was exposed to a scented laundry detergent, causing a medical emergency. The synthetically fragranced chemicals caused immediate stricture in my esophagus. Fragrance is very high on the list for inducing the body to go into a highly inflammatory state. Eating anti-inflammatory foods is a start to good health but unless you remove the source of inflammation, it’s more difficult for the body to maintain health. So those of you who are using synthetic fragrances in cleaning and laundry products may just want to switch to plant based products in these categories.

THANK YOU! You have give answers to the plethora of questions I had about body issues and functions that I have. AND so much information on the foods you mentioned. Especially about the chia seed. I didn't realize the shelf life of it ---- that it is kind of like yeast, losing it's 'power' if it hangs around in storage too long. I have boat loads of it that I will probably have to toss now. I WILL test it, for sure. Hopefully I won't have to dump it. I found out the hard way that Flax seed is much like nuts, and goes rancid. So, am totall grateful for this informative video. Also, I am SO eager to try out all the recipes you mentioned, too!
