Awesome! This really helped! Removing the panarello really makes a huge difference in being able to get and achieve the rolling vortex. I still didn't get quite the right texture, but this really helped move things along. Thanks for sharing this tip!
@@Jess_Bishop I still practice a lot, but I have managed to do somewhat nice latte art. Other days I bomb completely. I will keep practicing, but I think I am starting to get the hang of it lol
Thanks for this! I'll try the steps here. My frother keeps exploding the pressure during middle of the process makes my milk fly away even with pre-release of the pressure but not by 10 seconds haha Also, when enabling and disabling the frother, the lever should always reach both ends? If enabling the lever from mid, I think the pressure is being surprised as well?
Even though ive replaced the panarello with the rancilio silvia's manual steam wand and the fact that this video is 2years old ill still try this method and hopefully it works thanks buddy
I also changed the steam wand just like you and I got to the conclusion that Delonghi Dedica hasn't enough power to draw latte art. That's why all Dedica latte art videos have cuts.
I just bought my first espresso machine. Had never made espresso in my life but drank lattes regularly. I could not figure out how to get my milk right with the attachment on the steam wand. So I just removed it I have been able to make proper milk.
Thank you for you video! It's very useful. I have a such model. I make cappuccino without the panarello nozzle too. But I have a question, during this time (1 min), does the temperature in the boiler drop or not? My button goes off after 20-30 seconds, but I continue to beat the milk without interrupting the process. I have heard recommendations that it should wait for the button to light up again. How is it in your case?
It is prefer to steam without the silver wand so that the foam created will be more consistent and easier to control. Just take out and tight with a plastic zip will do :)
When you're done purging the steam wand do you wait for the machine to build more pressure before frothing the milk? Or is the goal to froth the milk with low pressure?
Thanks for the video! May kw what milk are using ? Full cream or fresh milk? I hv same machine , silver wand take out, but I cant get the smooth whirlpool and it get bigger n many bubbles make milk overflow at ard 40 secs so hardly to continue, reli no idea how to get the silky milk like urs 😭😭
I am using fresh milk:) If the milk overflow and spill out, you might reduce the milk amount. To avoid big bubble, probably you have to insert the steam wand a little bit more deep and keep the whirlpool swirl( sometimes it takes time because the steam wand pressure seems unstable and inconsistent)
Hi! I’d like to know whether this is a problem, or it’s how this model works. My steam wand never pumps out consistent air. Every time the vortex starts to build just a bit, then the steam cuts off and it sounds more like a “let-off” than steaming. I can’t get any silky milk at all and it is so devastating 🥲
Hi @kx kx do you happen to know if using no fat skim milk will produce the same silky, creamy milk? I've been trying to make it but I'm not able to reproduce the same result of yours.
I have not froth with skim milk yet, because most of them saying skim milk has less fats and it is not easy to froth, especially with this low pressure steam wand.
Hm i tryed get off from wand that silver part but later just this black wand fall of to milk 😂. And so i put it back again. For me maybe i dont have that thic crema on top or idk but milk cant draw and just at end i can put white form on top of coffee. Well i am still learning coffee is good eith that and spoon of honey in coffee before drawing with milk.
Hi! Did you ever had an issue with the frother? Like with mine, it pops out in the middle of frothing which is quite dangerous because of the hot milk! :(
we have the same espresso machine but if i remove the outer part of the wand and start frothing milk the rubber pops out. tried this technique a few times doesn't work for me all the time. still espresso is so good!
Hi I have a question. So I did this to the tea. Followed every step and my milk didn’t froth. It only got extremely Hot. And still was super liquid and with zero froth. What do I do? I’m using Oatmilk by the way
@@2wentygrammescoffee134 Its same ECP but the wand seems to be 2inches bigger than ECP3420, and it is making a lot of difference, tried many times but can't get the texture for latte art. I am trying to change the wand.
If you're holding the jug level, try tipping it slightly to the left or right. The angle should help create the vortex. Also, heat the milk by temperature, not a set time. No more than 65°C because above that (around 68°C) the molecular structure starts to change, irreversibly, in a bad way, and this will spoil the milk. If you don't have a milk thermometer, just put your hand on the side of the jug whilst steaming. When it gets too hot to touch, you're probably around 55°C. You can stop there, or continue for just two or three seconds more to get it a little closer to 60-65°C.
hello may i know how long is the length of your rubber steam wand. Is it 3cm or 6cm long? because mine is very short and i can’t seem to insert the steam wand in about 3/4 deep inside my milk pitcher so i find it hard to create the vortex. btw i am using 500 ml milk pitcher and i usually pour in 200 ml of milk. So is my problem really about the length of my steam wand, or the size of my milk pitcher or just my bad technique at steaming milk :’)
Is it wrong if it jumps off? Is the steam wand then broken or you just put it back? I have the same machine but I dont want to risk to take silver wand off if then the steam wand can be damaged.
use as cold milk as possible and a chilled pitcher, so the milk will be whipped longer by filling with foam until it reaches 60C. That is why you will not be able to make a good result on a small amount of milk - it will simply heat up too quickly
I have same machine.. i try steaming the milk at 1 minute time the milk it's too hot.. reaches 70 degree. tried so many times failed more :P i use full cream milk after steaming make more bubbles :(
Awesome way...but the gummy tip flies off mid process? anyonelse having this problem? when you remove the metal tip it seems the plastic black tip that is left cannot stand the high pressure and flies off mid process making an absolute mess
Is it going to spill? Is it not? Uh oh, it is, there you go. Yup, it's about to spill. Why isn't he stopping it if it's about to spill? What a fool. Then you're going to have a mess on your hands and the foam is on the floor and... Oh, it didn't spill? It didn't spill. What the...., how did it not spill? (my thought process)
