Throughout May, Global News has been covering stories celebrating Asian Heritage Month and the countless accomplishments of Canadians of Asian heritage. Now, here's the journey of a Japanese-Canadian trailblazer.
As a teen, Frank Moritsugu was forced into an internment camp in British Columbia, and later enlisted in the Canadian army. He also happens to be a journalist with more than eight decades of experience.
Global's Shallima Maharaj has his story.

Thank you for your service Frank. Nothing can be said or done to undo the past, but I can say that you really stuck it to us. You are just as if not more Canadian than many I know. I have always admired the honorable spirit of Japanese folk.

China is copying/pasting Japan's past before the WW2, including its mistakes. - China forgot how that ended up.

While he was fighting for us, we were sticking his fellow Japanese Canadians into internment camps and stealing everything they owned.
