This video was salvaged from a very old VHS tape, so the quality isn't great, but there doesn't seem to be any copy of it on the internet so I thought I'd help preserve it for everyone to enjoy.
In February 1894 the first team representing New Zealand played New South Wales at Lancaster Park in Christchurch. The New Zealand Cricket Council was formed towards the end of 1894.

NZ vs aus WC 92... Still a fresh in my memory....was in 8th grade , with final exams undergoing, wake up to keep fast( as it was Ramadan) n used to watch all of this colorful WC like this. RIP martin crowe... May u have a healthy recover Chris cairns....our childhood hero's :(

Glenn Turner was a real expert at chipping for 2s into gaps from what I remember. When the bats were not so powerful of course.

The underarm delivery by Mr. Greg Chappell was absolutely ungamely, unfair and unacceptable though it was not out of the rule book ; but the GENTLEMAN'S GAME is expected to have some courtesy which the players must keep in mind; this act by Chappell was really shameful for me .

@@sizzlingschumi9005 I reckon we would have won that match had Crowe been on the field the entire match. He also predicted whoever won that match would win the world cup, and he was correct. Sadly it wasn't to be NZ! :(

That 1 run win by NZ at Belrieve was one of the most ridiculously incompetent pieces of international cricket I've seen to this day. The inability of Bruce Reid to lay bat or anything else on ball to get at least a single to get Greg Matthews on strike was ludicrous on the one hand, and on the other, is the fact that Chris Pringle, very fine ODI bowler that he became, bowled the most horrible and inaccurate over one could imagine almost, under the circumstances. It really should've at least been a tie due to the leg side wide that Pringle bowled early in the over. I'm an ardent kiwi cricket fan and I was honestly embarrassed by that win. It really shouldn't have happened, but stranger things have happened in cricket alas.
