It was a wonderful plant sale and I am so happy to be able to share my adventure with all of my plant friends. Thanks so much for joining me and HAPPY GROWING! 🤗
Yes!!!! I was literally drooling the whole time...the dogs kept looking at me like what the heck is her problem!? 😳😳😜🤪 Thanks for watching and as always HAPPY GROWING!
Thank you and there were so many varieties! I wanted to adopt them all and give them their forever home. But unfortunately my meanie hubby would not let me!!! Talk about taking the romance out of Valentine’s Day! SHEEESH!
We went on Saturday too!!! Sorry I missed ya! I absolutely loved the variety, the prices and free admission! What a way to get a bang for your buckeroonies!!! Wooohooo! Curious to know what plant treasures did you get?
I KNOW RIGHT!!! You do need to come out to one of their shows. They usually have it about 3 or 4 times a year and the event is absolutely free. We had to travel almost 3 hours one way to get there but it was definitely worth the trip and I plan on attending all of the shows throughout the year. That is how much I loved it! Thanks so much for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
@@PictureMaria1 I live in New Jersey!😆 I wish I can go one day to one of those events, that would be a dream come true! I might go in the spring if things are a little better ☺️
I have some peeps in Jersey!!! Yes I hope the dust will settle this year. It would be so awesome if you could come in the spring! That’s when all the plant shows start cranking up. I know whenever you come you’ll have so much plant shopping fun!!!
Wasn't it though!!! I ran out of time again...but not because we were late this time...but because it was just so huge...I didn't even get to see all of the vendors. I ventured out on a limb this time and shocked myself with some of the varieties that I got. I feel so empowered! LOL! Hopefully I can post tomorrow or the day after. Please be sure to give me your feedback on them.
Wow, so many great varieties ! I really like those bromeliads at the beginning of the video. Thank you for taking us along. Looking forward to the haul video 😉.
I was really surprised how many varieties there were. There was truly something for everyone. So many plants that I wanted to take home. Thank you for joining on this shopping adventure and I am hoping you are inspired to get more plants!!! LOL! Orlando will be having a plant show at Leu Gardens. It’s supposed to be a real nice one. I will be going to that one too. Maybe if you have time you can check it out as well. Haul video should be posted tomorrow! YAAAAAY! I am so excited to show you. I think it will shock you. LOL! 😳😳😳
That looks like a lovely way to spend a day. It's snowing and freezing here, so it was nice to go along with you! Very nice selection of plants and accessories. I want to try growing some flowering ginger here this year in the summer. They look so exotic and will be a nice complement to my outdoor jungle vibe. Can't wait for Spring!
I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my Valentine's Day! I tricked hubby dear into thinking that this was our Valentine's Day date...you know I nice romantic stroll through the park...it wasn't my fault that they so happened to have a plant sale on that day! LOL! But I throughly enjoyed it...Not only do I love adopting my green pets and giving them a forever home in my garden but I also love discovering new plants and learning all about them. I got some new plants that I never have had before and to be honest, would've never thought I would own...but I am up for the challenge and always anticipating new plant experiences. I AM VERY EXCITED. I think flowering ginger would be an awesome addition to your jungle vibe! I have lots of them throughout my garden not only to beautify but to also act as a wind barrier and shading from extreme sun. I love them! I think they would work out so well for you as well. You can either plant them in the ground and dig them up during the winter or opt to put them in pots and just bring the pots in to overwinter. They normally die back anyways and because they grow from tubers they will pop back up in the spring again. I have a small collection of about 10 different types. They are so wonderful for me because they come back every year and they multiply so I don't ever have to buy anymore. One year I had such a bountiful harvest...when I went to the Tamiami International Orchid Festival I brought tons of baggies with me filled with ginger tubers and gave them out to my plant buddies that I met there. They were a hit! I didn't think I would get rid of them all but within an hour they were all gone. Let me know how it turns out for you and what type of ginger you get. My favorite one is the zingerber ginger/shampoo ginger/pinecone ginger. The fluid from the flower can be excreted and used as a natural shampoo and it smells so good. You definitely have to get that one.
@@PictureMaria1 Thank you so much! I'm going to look for those gingers. I'm excited to add a new tropical to my summer garden here in my very un-tropical state!
YAAAAAAAY!!! I’m excited for you. Keep me posted on the fingers you get! ...and maybe in the future we can do some ginger trades! That would be awesome! 🤗🤗🤗
We definitely have some pretty amazing plant events. Hoping one day you can take advantage of the plant opportunities here in Florida. I would love to meet you one day. Until then, stay awesome my friend!
I totally agree! I actually want to extend out my garden and will be needing more trees for shading so this sale came right on time! ...and there are so many unique varieties of clerodendrums...they never cease to amaze me...with blooms that look like musical notes, light bulbs and butterflies...they really are an amazing type! LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
Yes, I am keeping an eye ope for those blue butterflies. I have the musical notes one but it didn't fair to well during the winter. I am hoping that now we are getting warmer temps it will spring back up.
I am very excited to share them with you! I really shocked myself with the varieties that I got and I am super duper thrilled to have found them. YAAAAAAAAY! I will try to post tomorrow or the next day. Thanks so much for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
Vanilla orchids are so awesome...I have a couple of them that have now grown into my tree and one on my bird's of paradise tree. I kept saying that I had to remove it before it grew too high...now it is about 15 ft. high and out of my reach. They grow like crazy if you let them grow outdoors. You should try vanilla again it's a great plant to have.
Where have you been? I hope all is well. Also, can we get a update on the Pink Princess experiment? I am curious if there is any hope for my reverted pink Princess and an also curious the experiment didn’t work so I don’t waste my time trying and trying. Thank you so much 😊💕💫
Thank you so much for taking as along 🤗 I know my hubby is thankful that I have not found a plant show near us (California) because I would probably rent a U-Haul truck to make sure I have enough room for all the plants I can buy. He calls me a plant hoarder, I call myself a plant foster mama
HA HA HA!!!! Plant hoarders unite!!!! Thanks so much for joining me on my plant sale shopping adventure. I am so happy to be able to bring all of my plant buddies with me! I am so surprised that there are no sales near you. California is major for plants. I know they have one of the biggest orchid shows in San Diego that I think sells other plants as well. I would google plant shows and events in California and also check local botanical gardens and parks. They usually hold these type of events. I hope you are able to go to some. They are so much fun!
Excellent show! SO many beautiful and gorgeous things to see everything looks amazing! I would love to go to a show like this right now, I know you had a magnificent time! ;-)) Take good care! ;-))
Yes...I love going to these types of shows!!! So many varieties of plants and at such great prices where you can really get a bang for your buckeroonies! Thanks so much for joining me on this adventures and I am hoping all is well with you dear friend! PS I heard that the Tamiami show is scheduled for October this year. Will you be going?
@@PictureMaria1 Hello My dear friend! I hope life is treating you well as you are safe and enjoying your summer adventures! I will be planning on going to the Tamiami show this year and I hope to see you there too! Take good care as I look forward to seeing you soon! xoxo
I love this plant show!😍 They always have great vendors and plants. I found great stuff before. I’m hoping to go next time. I hope you got the variegated mahoe, it is so beautiful. So many great deals, I can’t wait to see your haul. 👌🌱🌿💐💞😘
It is an amazing plant show! I think you were the first person that informed me of this show. I am so happy that I finally got a chance to check it out!!! I was in the process of filming and my camera completely gave out. I am still working on it and I will get it out as soon as possible. 🤗
Hi I love all your videos, can you let us know when those plants market are happening I would like to visit them especially if I know where I can get more information or schedule. I really appreciate it. Since I live here in New York it would be nice to go a little vacation to Florida. Thank you in advance.
That was a cool show. Some very good aroid prices. I saw some cool species in there I definitely would have snagged. Also was digging that Manfreda in the beginning with the ruffled edge. I had no idea Little Phil got that massive 😱 lol Great vid as always 💚🌿🌵
I totally agree...I loved the variety and prices. They had something of everything. Afterwards While editing my video I was constantly kicking myself because I had to leave so many behind as they began shuttingdown while I was filming. I still had to remember where I had to pick up the plants I had already purchased and still try to remember which booths had some plants that I was supposed to go back for...it sucks running out of time! The Manfreda is definately one of them that I forgot to get. They get huge and have beautiful texture and have a wild spotted pattern in the leaves...and for 10 buckeroonies, you really can’t beat that with a moss pole! LOL! I do plan on attending some more sales in the near future and hopefully I run into some of the same vendors. If you want me to pick one up for you...let me know. 😘
This place is amazing!! What a great selection of plants, such a wide array! I would be curious to see what those pink princesses look like and the albos that got sold out immediately! Great video!!
Thank you and I loved it! I couldn’t believe the variety and how many plants I actually wanted...there were just so many! I also found plants I never seen before and that is always very exciting for me! I love learning and discovering new things...and we missed out yet again arriving at noon and they were already sold out of the major stuff. The next event I will get there as it opens so that I can get the worm too! LOL! They normally have their sale a couple of times a year and there is no entry fee at all....which is great and only means more money to spend on plants! YAAAAAAAAAY!
@@PictureMaria1 So envious of all the perks of living in FL! I agree, get there as early as you can. Hope to drive down to FL in time for the next time. So far, our next trip is not until July for the caladium festival.
Ohhhhhh the Caladium Festival!!!! How exciting! I had anticipated all year to go the following year and then they cancelled because of the pandemic! I am glad to hear that they will have it this year! YAAAAAAY! I have never went and didn’t even know that Florida is considered the Caladium Capital of the world!!! All this time!!! Perhaps we will run into each other there! That would be so much fun. I am looking forward to it!!! 🤗🤗🤗
I wish I was there! So many beautiful plants that I want and I would get I want to see a place like that here in Dallas Tx. I have many plants and I do know their names but their scientific name I don’t.How do you remember all the names? I applaud you what a special gift. Thank you for share your visit with us Appreciate you so much!! 😀
Awwwww that was such a sweet message. Thank you! I am sure that they have some plant events in your area. Dallas is a big city. You may have to do a little researching or even call around and speak with plant based societies to see if they are hosting any events. You may have to travel a little bit, but I am sure they are having them somewhere in Texas. I often travel about 2-5 hours to get to these events and stay for the weekend. I hope you are able to find some plant sales and festivals in your area. It is so much fun and rewarding to go. I have been growing plants since I was a child and have learned the names over the years. It is difficult though because new plants are constantly being introduced and reclassified so there is always more to remember and learn. But if my memory fails...good ole google always comes in handy. Thanks so much for joining me on this plant hunting adventures and I am finger crossing that you will attend a plant sale near you soon. HAPPY GROWING!
They just had a plant sale 02/5 - 02/07/21 @ Texas Discovery Garden. txdg.org/ I also noticed that there are several Home and Garden Shows in Texas. Here is a listing of Home and Garden Shows in Texas...maybe one of them is close to your area. www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=DALLAS+TEXAS+PLANT+SHOW&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&ibp=htl;events&rciv=evn&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjBiMn34fLuAhXDUs0KHZucBfAQ5bwDMAF6BAgGEAE#fpstate=tldetail&htidocid=L2F1dGhvcml0eS9ob3Jpem9uL2NsdXN0ZXJlZF9ldmVudC8yMDIxLTAzLTA1fF8xNDQwNTM0OTQ5MTMzNzAwNTMzOA%3D%3D&htivrt=events&mid=/g/11jfrwqqpr&sxsrf=ALeKk01OMv5Dn9iEGjDgvujdITGO1JRLsw:1613628322242
HA HA HA!!! Hard to believe...YOU...showed out??? I know my husband wishes I had that problem...my plant hunting engine is just getting revved up!!! VROOOOM VROOOOM!
GREAT VIDEO. I love plant shows that I can't attend, more less didn't know of🤣🤣. That Thai Constellation though!🤤🤤🤤 If I could i would have jumped clean through this phone for that plant..😂😂 Most of the plants I'm looking for they have for a GREAT price.
Thank you and where are you located Pete? You need to take a vacation to Florida and check out the nurseries and the plant shows/sales that they have almost all throughout the year! Geraldo said that they will be coming to Florida for vacation and plant hunting soon. You will find some amazing deals especially on exotic plants that many don't even know about. Every time I go I learn of a new variety and expand my horizon. It is what I consider an exploration trip deeper into the unknown! LOL!
@@PictureMaria1 I'm a state up In the Heart of Georgia. I have been thinking about going down that way to look for plants. I usually travel north towards my capital but it looks like I have to make a trip down to Florida.
@@plantnwitpete Oh you’re not too far. My folks live in Valdosta Georgia. Another plantuber and friend from Atlanta Georgia came down and we met at the Aroid Show last week. There is Plant Sale at the Botanical Leu Gardens in Orlando in March. There is also and the Major Tamiami International Orchid/Plant Show is happening in October. People and vendors travel from all over the world to attend that show. It’s major and will blow your mind. I have some videos on it if you want to find out more about it. Florida is definitely the place to be when it comes to plant events and the varieties of plants you can find. Whenever you decide to come down let me know and I will try my best to meet up with you.
OH NO!!! Thank goodness though the plant sales are just getting started and there will be so many in the spring and summer months!!!! YAAAAAY! I know I for one will have a busy plant hunting year!!!! ...and I LOVE IT!!! I am hoping you won’t miss out on the other awesome plant sales that are coming up! Be there or be square!!! 😳😂🤪
👍🏻 91 I really enjoyed your video! Looks like by the time we went they sold out a lot of their plants 🌱 but there was still some very nice ones !❤️🌺🌱 You really took your time to tell about the name the price the size of the plants 🌱 , did you have a chance to try their beer 🍺 they had some nice brewed beers 🍻. Got a “milkshake” 🍺 and felt like dancing 💃... 😆 to the live music 🎶 they had...
Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed it. It took us about 3 hours to get there and we arrived at 12:00 and they had already sold out of a lot of the plants I was looking for too. 😭 I have had some complaints on my videos saying that they wish I would include the names and prices...which I feel is a legitimate complaint and suggestion because I’ve watched videos in the past and wanted to add something to my wishlist but couldn’t ‘t because they didn’t share the info. So I think it benefits the viewers to know...of course it takes longer to film and edit (as I did run out of time to shop) but I don’t mind doing it...I just have to get it in my mind to get there when it opens so that I can get everything done. I always feel so rushed. I am glad we were both able to find some great plant still. ...and no I didn’t get a chance to try the beer...As hectic as it was I could’ve used one though! LOL! Although I wasn’t too keen with them blasting the music...it was drowning me out...I wanted to throw a big pot of Alocasia at them...hubby said that probably wouldn’t go over too well and he wasn’t going to bail me out of jail if I did! 🤪😳😱. Thanks for watching and hopefully we bump into each other soon at another plant event! PS you did an awesome job on your video...it was very calm, relaxing and lovely. I loved everything you were able to capture. Everyone has a different style and way of doing things and it is great to be able to provide a variety of different videos for the viewing public. Stay awesome and looking forward to more great content from you. 😘😘😘
@@PictureMaria1 Three hours trip one way , you are a true plant lover my friend! They had like two live bands playing the first one I liked better than the other ... the second type makes you kinda nervous 😬..lol so I know what you mean ... glad you listen your hubby! 😅 Maybe if you tried the beer 🍺 you would have throw that plant 🪴.. 😂 I am looking forward to the day when we will meet in one of these events🤗🌺❤️🌱
HA HA HA! You’re right! Glad I didn’t try the 🍺! 🤪😂🤪 I think I was there when the 2nd band was playing...it just sounded like a bunch of noise. It was so bad I was contemplating doing a voiceover! Thank goodness they didn’t play throughout the entire event. I literally think I would’ve went mad! We must have been been running around in circles then... because we somehow missed each other. I think we were both there at the same time. Did you see the string of hearts and turtles? I was supposed to go back and get some but I got thrown off. I had a project an experiment for them!!!! I am still kicking myself!!! ...and my husband is the real trooper...he comes along with me and he isn’t even a plant person! LOL! I often feel bad for him because I am sure he would much rather do ANYTHING other than hunting for plants! LOL! He is my A number #1 and keeps me in line...most of the time! LOL!
@@PictureMaria1 ha ha , yes same with my husband, he comes because he knows I love it so much ...but he isn’t into it like I am. That’s to bad you couldn’t get those ... I don’t remember seeing it Sunday afternoon , but maybe just didn’t have time to see everything...everybody was ready to go home , so couldn’t be as detailed of checking everything out... We are blessed we found a man who accepts us with our addiction/obsession for plants (I guess it could be worse than that😅) Anyways I forgot to get a plant as well ... and you know how it goes ... now I am thinking about it all the time... plant addiction is real..ha ha Have a nice day and see you in your next video my plant addict friend!💕🌺🌸🌱😘
Yes we truly are fortunate...my hubby dear is my best friend and has been with me through every adventure...no matter how crazy or challenging...secretly I think there is a plant addict in him...I just got to find a way to bring it out of him! LOL! You didn’t get a plant!!! How could you resist!!! Ohhhhhh you’re good!!! You’ve got the strength of steel!!!! LOL!!! I’ve done that though where I’ve done more talking and filming than shopping. Usually time just gets away from you. Next time we’ll do better. ☺️😊☺️
Paula from Mexico. Nice show. My lemon tree has three lemons on it. Add it is just starting. My avocado tree is in bud. I have a very very old maybe 25 year old Loquat tree. I make jam every year from it. I invite friends over to pick. Last year it was so heavy the limbs were almost hanging on the ground. I have a Bromelia Balansae. A neighbor has a Aristolochia gigantea. I never saw one in my life. They call it the Calico Flower. Please show us what you bought.
That's awesome! Soon you will have a little fruit orchard. I have starfruit and little calamance lemons on my tree growing. My neighbor has 2 loquat trees that he always tells me to go pick fruit. I usually load up and then eat so many that I make myself sick! LOL! They are just so yummy I can't help myself. I actually shocked myself with what I got...I guess I have turned over a new leaf and broadening my horizon. LOL! It was very empowering to try out some new and beautiful plants that I have never owned before. I am so excited to share and get all of your input on them. I hope to post it tomorrow or the the next day. Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING my dear friend from Mexico!
$150 on PPP!!! 😢 Breaks into song: Money, money, money must be funny in the rich mans world (Abba, 1976). How I wish I had been with you with $150 that was not already obligated to my grocer or veterinarian. Another fabulous adventure! Thank-you Maria for bringing me along. I think my next move is to Florida...haha!
Yes, it was a great show, great plants and great prices! I am so happy you jumped aboard the plant shopping express! Thanks for joining me and YESSSSSS MOVE TO FLORIDA!!! I couldn’t agree more. You’ll have so much planty fun! I promise!
Maria, do you keep your pharaoh's mask in the ground? I was thinking of putting mine in this spring. Glad to see the plant fest circuit still has reasonable prices. :D
I actually don’t...I keep all of my elephant ears potted up. Although there are some that have sent off runners and are now growing in the ground....and yes a massive difference in prices and there was such a great variety that I couldn’t make up my mind on what I wanted. I left several behind because they were closing in the process of filming and because I didn’t want to end up in the doghouse and on the couch for Valentine’s Day! 😳🤣🤪
@@PictureMaria1 bahahaha. Same. I didn't find out that Gabriella's had an open house until the Saturday afternoon of Valentines weekend. My husband gave me the "are you crazy?!" look when I brought up jumping in the car and driving to Orlando. Oh well. I'll make it next time.
WOW Gabriela’s did?! I have never went there yet. I can never seem to find out when he is having it. It’s like some sort of secret or something! LOL! ...and if I tried that hubby would’ve gave me that same look! 😳😳😳😂🤪 Ha ha ha!!! Husbands are funny! LOL!
@@PictureMaria1 yup! First time theyve had one since last year. I'll let you know if I get another email! They have a list serv for local events you can sign up for. They make you reserve a time slot.
I am not sure if that is a special variety or not. I tried pulling up the Monstera Double Window and Adonsonii Double Window...but nothing came up. I wouldn't think that they would be selling a regular adonsonii for 150.00. I'll see what I can find out and let you know if I find anything on it.
How I miss the annual "Plant Affair' here in Fort Lauderdale. Every spring at the War Memorial Auditorium , there would be easily a hundred plus vendors of everything from common house plants to the most exotic orchids and plants you only see once every year at the 'Plant Affair'. of course politics and greed killed it and now Covid has driven the stake into the heart of it. So all of us gardeners and plant lovers are left in the cold and no shows to buy new and exciting plants. 😭😭😭
WOW! The Plant Affair sounds amazing! It’s sad to hear that they no longer have it. I’m a bit surprise that they would cancel it especially with how popular plants have become. Hopefully they can get it started back up. Definitely let me know if they do. I would love to check it out. Fortunately though we are in Florida and have plant events going on all around us. If you are willing to travel a little you can have all the plants your little heart desires. They will be having another plant sale at Leu Gardens in Orlando. I will be attending that sale. I heard it is one of the best ones in the Central FL area.
@@PictureMaria1 The Fort Lauderdale Plant Affair was a major spring event every year first week of April without fail. Then because of local government squabbles and other people being petty, it just phased out, it became very small and it's been gone for five or six years now. For like 30 years it was wonderful. All that is left is the Fort Lauderdale Orchid Society Show every year. But that was canceled last year and this year as far as I know. So nothing wonderful to go see and spend money on, local government at its best👎
That is an awesome plant! I looked up this variety and it has some stunning and very large leaves once mature. I would love to do a plant trade with you once yours gets mature enough and of course only if you are bold enough to take a cutting from it...no pressure though, just thought I'd ask.
@@PictureMaria1 Actually I just took some cuttings from it today they're in my prop box. The cuttings are juvenile still at this point. I will let you know if I have luck propagating them.

Yes, they were more in my budget! LOL! I found so many interesting plants that I never even knew about. It was quite a plant expedition and I was so surprised at some of the plants that I brought home. I am expanding my horizon and it feels plantastic!
