beautiful 75! Sure those studs right off glad it didn't do much if any body damage. I have a 75 St Coupe also 46,000+ original miles. It gets driven every other week just to keep her moving. Within a few years after purchasing her new she got a header, bigger valves a ported head and a cam. Offenhauser dual Port intake manifold with a progressive Weber. I also have a 75 GT lift back. Also was purchased new and it's the car I drove most, with 800,000 Plus mi. and a few engines. It now has a supercharged Century V12 crammed under long it's Hood. 😁 unbelievable power. Yet with that engine it isn't even halfway to its potential. In the early '80s my 79 Hilux turned 12s. It had a stroke 22R larger valves ported head. I ran M50-15s on that truck. And boiling them in first gear was never a problem and breaking loose second and third when shifting was easy. Bias ply LOL Had a 76 Hilux . In the early 80s that truck became a desert racer and then a mud Bogger until there was not much left of it but engine. The engine 20R is now in a buggy. And I still have my 80 4x4 long bed purchased new. It has a little over 300,000 miles. And for decades it has sat on top of a 7-in Skyjacker and 38s. it has a Marlin crawler 5:29 gearing, lockers front and rear. It has a stroke 22R 40 over extensive porting super big valves and cam with much broader torque curve. That barely covers the Toyotas I have and have had.

Old School power in an even older school platform! Fixed that for ya. Seriously, the 2JZ is over 20 years old. It's a great engine and I have no hate for it at all. On an unrelated note: suspected 1000hp in a lightweight chassis like that, and barely running high 10s? That's either extremely optimistic, super duper sand baggy, or a lot (and I mean a LOT) of dialing in needs to be done. Awesome car either way. Sucks to see the studs sheared, glad it wasn't worse.

I had a 72 with 265rwhp in a 18R it would do 0 60 in 3.4 0 100 in 5.1 it was fucking nuts top speed as around 165ish. Those cars are nuts with the right combo.....better grab one when there still there....have fun with the rust....they all have it

These guys always like to put huge turbos on everything, 101mm on a viper swapped supra, 85mm on this celica, bigger isn't always better... When are they gonna learn lmao, it takes a lot of fine tuning to get a setup with so much lag and power shocking the suspension and drivetrain at once, it's not efficient or stable

2JZ- maybe my favorite from all Rotary engines, 1JZ, the previous MK3 supra engine and all, the 2JZ is just screaaaming with its 3 liters turbocharged. On one side it is like the small cubic, high-revving Japanese engines, running on crazy boost, but it also goes a bi on the big engines side, with the 3 liters 6 cylinder. The sound all JZ's make, ohh my favorite. The 2.0, the 2,5, and the 3.0 liter. All are screaming perfection, what a noise!

something suspects that the tune at the time the video was shot... doesn't hit the 1000hp mark.. its Quick absolutely.. but not 1000hp 2jz quick.. sharp and fast none the less.. looking forward to more vids from this rocket!

Not trying to hate but that's a pretty bad build if its still in the low 10's. There's an e36 6 speed build that does 8.9 at 167 I think. My brothers 450whp e36 hits 11.5 at 145 at 18psi.

I bought a new 72 one of these fun little car it stopped within 2 ft with the best corvette tested. Last week I found a shell roller. Tempted to make a street driver.. use what I have and enjoy it.... I only have mopar stuff.. But live near a pull your part place.. I've seen many of the inline 6s in more than a few or all the LS engines in so many gm trucks, like the idea of the aluminum block but I don't have a clue which one to get... but my first car was a 52 Chevy Club Coupe then I fell across a 57 Imperial put the motor,trans, and rear in it.... the Celica would work with a narrowed Dana sixty.... and the race 340 ..O heck what's a few pounds on the rear tires.. No title though, be like Bob Gliden when he ran the 340 in a colt.... and won al but one national event.. anyone got a colt or arrow. ? As always enjoyed the 1320 videos get a billion more views.....

Needs a dog box and maybe also some flat shift tuning.. I like the 6 speed but it's hard to pedal it and shift quick some times. Sweet car nontheless

Forgot to replace the chopsticks with lugs....... Then you can force that vacuum cleaner motor, to make 10 second runs.

A single turbo might be beneficial for a 2jz in a drag race, although, this is just speculation. A twin turbo seems to be more beneficial in a road course race or endurance, this is also speculation.

That was due to metal-fatigue... caused by the constant axle tramp. It would have never broken had he not had that terrible axle tramp.

I've had that happen my WS sicks own 3 black ones. 1 t/a 1 t/a 1 ws6 all fully loaded low miles 2 6 speeds 1 auto

Got to be the cheapest and least destructive part of the drive-line to have break on a hard launch though tbh. Cool car.

Unusable lag for a 6 speed and not enough torque to do it alone sans turbo. Fun but not very practical! Beautiful car though.
