I had 1000k service last Tuesday, had them take the slack out of throttle. I was charged $249 and happy as they gave it a good clean also. Took it for a ride to Mt Glorious today. It performed beautifully, its loosened up nicely and was great through the gears up and down. Overall very happy with the performance.
That's good to hear. Sounds like you've found a good mechanic as I feel if they take the time to clean your bike they have passion for their work plus they might notice anything else wrong with the bike.
Hi outie555, ordered a couple of accessories (crash bar, skid plate and chain guide) but still waiting the bike 😭 Thank you for all your videos and very useful explanations. ✌️ from France
Thanks for the mention mate i appreciate it 👍. I had mine service and they charged me $300. So you got yours really cheap. Took mine for a ride today and found i was having trouble changing down gears, i remember they said the clutch had been adjusted. I think loosened it so much it wasnt fully disengaging. Will try it again tomorrow and re ajust. New seat looks good i have one ordered . Cheers.
@outie555 Thanks outie, I'm enjoying your channel too. I did adjust the clutch a bit can't really blame the guys if that is what's in the manual. I did discover the pivot point on the selector linkage had seized up a bit and wasn't moving freely. A hit with wd40 fixed it.
The first service here is 80 eur, luckily. i am curious about the phone case. If it vibrates and how you got a charger out there unless u got vid on this
Phone case is from Temu. It's a magnet phone case that I've cot some holes in the top and ziptied it to the 12mm bar. Works really well but screen harder to read in full sun. Bike has USB ports in the dash so it's just plug and play.
What is your inside leg measurement or inseam? At 6ft I would expect about 32-33inches. The reason we all ask these things is to compare ourselves to you on the bike. How kilometres do you get out of a tank? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work as we are dying to get them here in the UK.
Just a couple of questions mate, did you have a new high seat fitted, or did they adjust it at the bottom of the rear shock? and, how much have you spent so far on the extras, like the bash plate and tall screen, etc? Cheers,
High seat is an optional accessory. So now I have two seats. The lowering link built into the bike is in the standard position but can be lowered to lower the bike 2cm. All the accessories pricing is on the website. It's hard to get to so here is the link. Just add the bike then the accessories will come up. cfmoto450.com.au/shop/
They had one that someone else was buying so they would have picked it up already. But it's popular so best to ring them and see, as I'm sure they will have one in the store sooner rather than later.
$225 seems reasonable for oil, filter and service; did you ask what oil they used? i see other CFmoto models have a Motul Oils sticker near the oil filler cap; i'd be inclined to see the old oil filter just to check for myself how the run-in period went; the last thing we want to see is a metallic tinge to the oil. the High seat looks great...more streamlined and flowing from the tank. glad that you're happy with it seeing as we're roughly the same height. my old knees don't work as good as they once did.
I'm surprised at the service cost being different for people. I thought it would be a fixed cost across the board, maybe labour costs are different. The dealer quoted me that the first service was $225 or $250. Not sure of exact amount but in the 200s. Yes that seat is way better. I have also ordered some bark busters as I have broken both, hand guards dropped it on both sides! I need to wait until the crash bars turn up before trying anymore 'serious' off road stuff and turn the ABS and traction control off everytime I restart the bike while off road!!
If stopping for a short time you can use the kill switch to kill the engine. Then off-road mode will still be engaged when you start up again. You probably already knew that but just in case, as it's handy to know. Or for others to read.
@@outie555 Yeah I knew, cheers anyway. I had stopped to take some photos and do a bit of a video scan so had turned the bike off completely. Up till then I had remembered to reset the off road mode every time I restarted to bike. I then came across a small steep section and then after that another long steep hill. That is where I should have stopped and turned around as I was only having my first dirt ride on the bike. I had all intention of waiting until I had the crash bars. Happy to report that I only scratched a bit of the white plastic and slightly bent the end of the brake lever, which had punched through the plastic hand guard. So new bark busters ordered. I have also installed a Radguard radiator guard. It's all metal and the mesh is an even size and a bit smaller, than on the original plastic one.
How much taller is your new windscreen? I assume you are still looking over it rather than through it? Has it relieved buffering at your helmet lever? The new taller seat looks like the ticket for me also as I am 6'1"...
Ive got a video on my channel on the install and review of the windshield which I think you will find good to watch. And a video on the tall seat vs small one. TLDW; Small seat not much buffetting on helmet. Tall seat a little at the top of the helmet.
Yes at 100km at the top of my helmet. It's not as bad as the small windscreen but it is there. Potentially could be solved with angling the screen with some 3d printed parts
