1000Toys TOA Heavy Industries line is inspired by the designs of a manga artist most known for Blame! which is also an anime on Netflix. Think he did Knights of Sidonia too but I could be wrong.
Unparalleled Universe yeah technically these robots are never in any of the stories. TOA heavy industries plays heavily into the Blame! Prequel story and these robots are the predecessors to the synthetic humans/Safeguards that are in Blame! It's hard to explain without heavy spoilers. Basically these guys are from at least a thousand years before Blame takes place. So same world but different story.
Tsutomu Nihei is author of a lot of mangas, including Blame!, Biomega, Knights of Sidonia and a bunch of others. He kind'a has this tradition that even though most of his series take place in completely different unrelated worlds, he keeps some names and thematic elements between them - cyborgs, transhumanism, artificial intelligence, gravity beam emitters. Similarly, Toha Heavy Industries is a name of a fictional company that pops up in several of his works. I think that this synthetic human is more of a homage, and not a character from a specific work, which goes along with this theme.
I'm definitely making my way to more premium type figs to review and check out on my channel I must say I did enjoy this review and now I definitely need to see about getting this bad boy.
