A motor that big on an open boat seems so scary but fun

I can believe that launch because merc 400r’s have amazed me with their torque. A 60-80 mph pull on a 39 seahunter with quads threw me back. I’ve never felt that trotted response from those kind of speeds

So Awesome .The tiller on a 100 hp looked smooth and not to hard to turn.Bad ass Mercury outboards technology.So quite too .

Took twice the boat with twice the power to run you down, and it took a while to do it. Great horsepower to dollar fun factor ratio with that tiller boat :-)

I run just shy of 40 knots in my 50 tiller on the rev limiter, need to jump up a pitch or two, I think I would be very close to your 100 with a different prop. Nice boat !

im embarassed to say i didn't know adaptive/automatic trim was a thing, and i rebuild outboard for a living! not in warranty though, so these are brand new still. incredible tech.

4:44 love that av plate completely dry and u almost can see the propeller half out of water. When I run my boat flat out and trim out. Can see the prop its fucking sick. Can only be done in smooth water tho

just wow.the more i watched the more i was amazed at the speed the pick up!!!!

So that’s around 49mph. I had a Grady White cuddy cabin like this boat with a 175hp Johnson 1996’ year. It would go 51mph and the boat was built like a tank. Did 48mph after I painted the bottom, one of the best made boats on earth. The wiring in it was perfect, everything heat shrink and it looked like a work of art under the console. Never had a light go out or anything electrical and it lived in salt water 24/7. Never had a engine issue either come to think of it... That tiller looks like a blast as I can only get 35mph out of my tiller (30 hp Johnson) that’s 56km/h. Good video either way not sure about having a engine trim for me.

I would love to give you a run with my 77 StarCraft Tristar, she is packing heat, 115 hp Mercury 2 stroke. We would just laugh & laugh over some beers. 😁

We used to run a 50hp outboard on a little dinghy - wakeboard , waterski and some very scary moments if the shop got up. Had to weight down the bow to avoid flying away

Mercury 4 strokes are nice, but hard to beat the Suzuki DF series.

Both fast boats for their class/type. But really, a glass boat is always going to be faster due to the shape of the hull. The tinnys don’t seem to benefit from more power like the glass boats do. Other than keeping the speed while carrying more load.

Have a 2018 quicksilver 505 Cabin with a 100 hp command thrust goes 33-34 knots flat out top speed. But goes from dead still to into planing in like 3 seconds Its a pretty blunt hull too

ive got a proline 221 (23ft) with a merc 200hp saltwater series and i can hit about 46 to 48mph

If you are not hitting the rev limiter, then you are not at peak speed yet. Lift the motor few cm's and test again till you hit peak rpm and still suck water!

U have to upgrade my 9.9

Considering my 95 model 50hp yamaha would push a 14 swiftcraft to 70kmh that's not that spectacular

Haha 200hp on such a small boat, easy beat. Power to weight. My 6.5m 225hp does 80kph so that thing depending on the prop should do 90kph easy.
