We've had rams bend on this farm before due to factory weld failures on a piece of equipment that put too much stress/side load on the ram shaft but never the ram body, that's a new one on me and that it completely failed.
Hey Casey, this was a different pace of what you usually do & it sure was a nice solution to a big headache! Great job handling it right outside of your shop! You had your hands full & handled it like a pro that you are! Good to see the mountains with the snow up there sure brings out the wintery in the spring! Thanks for sharing! Keep on trucking!👍😉🚜
Kinda funny you post this today, I was driving by a local gmc dealer today and spotted a new Sierra hanging off the side of a car hauler. It was there for a few hours at least, likely while they tried to find their own Casey to Bail them out
Just as well there wasn't a vehicle directly under it,when it fell,😢dosent look like a top load though, glad noone hurt, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
100 grand is outrageous. As a Half Greek myself, You called upon the spirit of Archimedes there...😂 But that rollback is impressive. The counter weight of the rollback is cleanly heavier than that of the GMC 1 ton for it to counter balance perfectly. Neat. Alittle bit of Physics involved there. We can see this equipment is designed with purpose and safety. Cheers Case
That pickup trucks have become this heavy and this expensive is nuts. The vast majority of trucks in the US have never been off the pavement or hauled more than a few bags of groceries and pet food. They have become ego-boosting monstrosities.
Casey I guess that is what happens when you have a car trailer and use it to haul trucks. Nice work Casey. If I was ever stuck you would be my first choice of a dream rescue service that come with a mechanic all in one. Thanks.
The hydraulic cylinders aren't supposed to hold the load driving down the road. I'm pretty sure there were pins that were supposed to be installed in braces that hold the ramps in place.
As you said at the end "You never know what you're going to get", can also be like Erika Thompson from the Texas Beeworks YT channel will say "It was another great day, of saving the Bees"
You'd think the heavy trucks would be down on the bottom and the lighter vehicles would be up top. I wonder if they won't fit down there or something.??
Dually’s don’t fit on the bottom deck because they are too wide to drive up in the interior of the trailer. The only exception is on the very back bottom spot of some trailers and then they are generally too long to legally haul it there. Regardless of where they are on the rig, Dually’s are hard on the equipment.
Yikes. That big a#s truck broke the camels back for sure. Might be time for the entire rig to be inspected and refurbished or decommissioned. Rollback to the rescue again.👍
I think he tried lifting up ramp with truck on it in order to get car from underneath. They usually have pins locking ramps in place while traveling down the road, I think.
@@brucebaxter6923I am guessing it wasn't at rest, it was being used to lift the ramp with that large truck, but I may be wrong. Could be he didn't pin it and with that heavy dually bouncing up and down on loaded ram. It is interesting how it collapsed and broke where it did, so you may be correct. Just thought I heard Casey say it collapsed while trying to unload. My bad if not.
@@papatomsthoughts ahh ok. Sorry. I’m really not very smart. I just noticed the rams broke at full extension. If it was unloading the pins would have to be out.
That poor little rollback, pushing what it can do. Well that's what happens when you put a modern dually on a trailer built for 90-00's sedans, surprised it doesn't happen more often.
That car trailer isn't built for that heavy a vehicle! Ram & support is too small for that kind of weight. Transported cars for 20 years and I might know a little about it and had custom built trailers from Boydstun of Portland.
It looked like a hell of a lot of weight to be on the back rack. Middle maybe. Then the ramp only has momentary weight while unloading. Imagine the pounding down the road.
