I show off this used 2013 Scion FR-S in Raven (black). I understand why people love this car. It’s so fun to drive and handles like it’s on rails. Power isn’t as bad as people make it out to be in my opinion, but it could use a good bump.
MSRP: Listed for $12,888 as of filming this (~$25,000 when new)

I bought one of those brand new back in 2013, loved the car! Mine was just like that one, basic with 6 speed manual transmission, mine was midnight blue, the only reason I got rid of it! Is because being a very light car with rear wheel drive wasn't a car made to be driven in bad snow weather or icy roads. At the time I lived in chicago so you know how bad winters can get here! I owned the car for 3 years, never drove it in the winter always kept it in the garage, and my wife at the time hate it getting into the car! So I used to end up driving her jeep to drop her off to the train station, so the only time I drove the car, was in beautiful perfect chicago weather sunny and dry! By the time I traded the car in those 3 years! The car only had 14 thousand miles on it! I ended up trading it for a jeep wrangler jk willys wheeler. Now I live in Arizona and I wish I still have that car! Even though the car wasn't that fast, I loved the way it drove and handled the road. It was and still is a beautiful car. Now I'm thinking of selling my jeep and maybe returning into buying the scion fr-s again! But a good used one in perfect condition.

Mine is a 2017 and bought it with 30k, I took out the sound pipe that goes from the engine to the cabin bc it felt like a little tractor. Being a little more quiet made the car feel lighter. This little car drives like a toy, it is so much fun 😊! I plan on keeping it until I can’t drive anymore.

Damn I miss mine so much. Bought one in 2013 it was a new car. I was only 21. Only 800 miles. Had the TRD package 6 speed. Real fun car to drive

the beep was letting you know that above that rpm is where the good stuff is and you stopped lol. car has huge torque dip below 5K

I watched a few Scion FR-S videos on how reliable is it. The reviewers seem to miss out on that part, the reason I'd like to know how reliable they are is because it's got a Subaru engine. That's the mistake Toyota made, they should have made their own engine like the Scion TC having the Camry engine.

It’s Toyota, though they decided to use proven motors from other company’s. They reengineer the entire motor and add their Toyota twist to it. Better quality of parts etc. why do you think ppl don’t have head gasket problems with these motors. Or look at the Supra for ex. BMW motor but better than when BMW had it.

This is the cheapest car, I bought. Not a problem, the use parts bin is plentiful. Idiots turbocharged them or tune them then drive them like their super cars. BOOM! I benefit cause I buy the recked ones for little to nothing, lately I bought two cost $1000.00. Got what I needed and discard the carcass. Keep racing you dumb bunnies.

Any mustang/Camaro/challenger would be good, but they’re usually beat up when used. Perhaps a WRX, Genesis Coupe, 350/70Z, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, there’s a lot of choices!

Lexus IS 350 / GS 350/ G35/37 all are reliable but make sure they're not beat up and have been maintained well (especially the infinity lol)

Don’t buy one with that many miles, I went to buy the one in the video and first week of owning it I starting to hear mild rod knock, got rid of it straight after, i got the car for 10k, it was too good to be true

The TC and the frs will probably be similar in speed, but the TC will have more room and the frs will probably be more fun to drive.

Scion TC would be the better bet tbh. FWD handles better in snow, and it gets better gas mileage.

That’s my fault. I thought the TC got better gas mileage.. it’s kinda low for a fwd economy car. I guess mpg is one benefit for the FRS then! Haha

I had a 2012 Honda Civic and a 2011 V.W. Cabrio convertable manual, in 2020 I had issues with the V.W. The motor for the roof blew then engine light kept coming off and on. The mechanic said they couldn't find anything wrong. I the started to drive my Honda, it was clean and the only thing wrong was the sun roof. I have long hair, I'd get to my destination and close the sun roof, turned off everything but as I'd get out of the car, I'd always forget that my roof would close with most of my hair. I sold the VW and took the Honda to use as a trade in. I spent 3 hours looking for a small car that felt comfy. I bought the Scion FR/S with 102k. It looked like New and the seat was comfortable, due to an old injury (broken back) this fit like a glove. Everywhere I went I'd get a lot of compliments and inquiries mostly from young ladies. It drives great and no problems at all.

I have a 2013 frs with 176k miles on it only had to change the ecu on it and a camshaft position sensor and running like a champ still

Once I sell my truck I think I’m gonna get one of these for 13k. It has a turbo and some kind of engine tune that wasn’t clarified from the person I’m buying it from. But is 13k worth it for this car?

I haven’t been reading up too much on the market for these. Just check KBB values and compare. However, modified cars go for much less than stock ones.

I'd pass on one with a turbo. A) it's been thrashed a little, at the very least. And B) I heard the engines don't handle turbos that well. But that may depend on the amount of boost pressure it has. The stock engines seen to be pretty reliable as long as fluids are changed and kept up with. Don't own one yet, but I've been doing research on them cuz I'm in the market for one and this is what I've been hearing. So, take that as u will.

Anyway, I hope u like whatever u got, or if u haven't got anything yet, I recommend the frs/BRZ/86 cuz it's a fun car to drive. I love it, glad I got it. Even tho I rev like crazy every time I hit an on ramp (I can't help myself, she wants me to), I'm still averaging almost 28 mpg. So, thumbs up.

@@BRED23 I know this is a month late but imo I would say no that’s not a good deal at all. 4k down for a car that has 100k+ miles on it is just wild to me. You can get one from different car lots with just putting down 1.5k or 2k max with very low mileage. But hey man if you got the car and is ok with that kind of payments then salute to you bro
