Yeah, but could you win if you were in the same position as those athletes in the 1900s? Way back then, they had very poor equipment for running as well as not nearly as efficient training techniques and dieting. The tracks back then also weren't well suited for the high impact and collision for sprinting like they are today.

Jake McCoy this guy dodoesn't understand logic, it's beyond trolling. It is true that some states don't consider records if it wasn't run in a state meet or state qualifier but no one runs a 10.2 and goes to Madison college when plenty of D1 schools are willing to give a full ride for a time like that.

@gmaxsfoodfitness3035
@gmaxsfoodfitness3035 10 месяцев назад
Realistically he wasn't driving for that long. About 4 seconds for the start and drive phase and about 6 seconds for the rest. Gun went off right at the 53 second mark. Considering the first 4 seconds is the slowest part of the race there's no way he even got to 50 meters with his head down. He started to come up at about 25 meters or so but did it gradually. He doesn't keep his head up high but that works for him and clearly did not slow him down, in fact having his head tucked like that may have helped be slightly faster.

dont expect it to be nearly as easy as jumping from a 12.95 to an 11.4. like a car from take off to top speed, increase of speed gets slower. everyone has a peak. once you reach it, improvement is slim to none. my freshman yr-12.21, sophmore yr-10.87, junior yr-10.44, senior yr-10.23. i trained harder my junior and senior year than i did my freshman and sophmore year. if i had continued training and went to college i imagine i would have peaked out around a 10.15

many times no matter which state if the wind is blowing to strong against the homestretch then they'll have the runners run in the opposite direction just for fun. Sprinting is obviously the most popular part of a track meet so people come to see runners run fast not slowed down by wind. If you notice you can hear the wind blowing quite strongly in the video.

Okay don't listen to people who say speed is all genetics. It's true to a point but speed is based on your stride length and how quick your feet move, those are things you can work on. Cutting some weight can help you be more aerodynamic and building leg muscle can help with your explosion. Also check on some speed exercises on youtube, it won't work right away but if you keep it up you can run a sub 11 by the time you're a senior.

excellent start, no wasted motion whatsoever, the winner is definitely on the right path. its all about technique, and of course genetics makes it possible to perform at highest level possible. stay home on the porch if you cannot run with the big dogs

usually its hold breath from the set until the 10 - 15m mark. then its a breath every ten meters or something. holding breath activates the val salva maneuvre - increase intra-abdominal pressure and all that good stuff (helps you run faster, more "foundation".

I ran my first track meet recently and I did absolutely horrible. I ran a 13.54 in the 100m and a 27 in the 200m. I was nervous and was shaken in the blocks and slowed down the last 20m. Its odd becuase In practice my times were way beter than this. Any workouts or tips to shave seconds off my time. And what workouts do you do, to pump your arms that quick?

That's a blistering time man much respect. Sound form too. Are you currently in the midst of a uni or college career in the NCAA or? Jw because an old teammate of mine was given a scholarship to USC on the track and his highschool pr was 10.4x. If you ran anything like that consistently you could land yourself a pretty hefty scholarship couldn't you?

Seeing this gets me hyped! I went to boarding school, I would’ve loved to do this. I was born in Prosser, home of horse heavens. Spirit is my spirit animal and yes i am a true mustang and the true stallion. I would’ve gave all my brethren from 2010 a run for their money.

People don't understand, they think it's pure speed . This isn't the 200 or the 400 . 85% of winning the 100 comes from your start out if the blocks . Shoot out and DRIVE Hard . With a great start , most of your race is complete , just have to hold that form and drive through the line .

last this kid named Noah at my school who was in 8th grade won every single 100 he'd been in that year, but then at our conferences big end of the year meet he got second because they didn't have blocks.

Looking at this carefully, a couple of things seem out of order. Firstly, it has been run the wrong way on the track. For the time to be valid, you must always finish at the official finish line which is where the start line was in this race. The suspicion is, this race was run counter to this to take advantage of the wind, which sounded particularly strong. I also suspect that 100m was not run, more like 90 or 95 metres as the winner seemed to slow down before the 100m line.

i wish cutting time like that would be that easy, with hard work eating up chunks like that is going to happen in the 11sec range but once you start floating around the 10.4 range the harder it is to make large jumps, the sub 10 barrier is one the hardest barriers to break

a couple of questions here, why are they running in that direction on the track? and did they run that way because f the massive wind assistance it would give the athletes? it was still a great run but a wind reading would be off the chart I suspect.

speed is genetic to an extent, but you can exceed far beyond you genetics if you train hard and smart like wisinyyandel101 said. but its mostly mind control. meditation, concentration, confidence, determination. i used these techniques more than any physical training. i ran a 12.21 my freshmen year. i was running a 10.23 by the end of my senior yr. that's not typical at all, but it is possible with the right mind-frame. now im married with two kids, and at 22 im probably back in the 12's. lol
