Pellets versus slugs at 100m which one is the best?
In my last video; Superior heavy Slug liner 100m Test • Superior Heavy Slug Li... I had a look at the accuracy of the Superior Heavy slug liner with slugs at 100m, in the same conditions I shot 2 different weighted pellets also at 100m... who do you think was the winner?

Thank you for this awesome video. By the way, JSB 25 gr RD irregular pellets. It doesn't group well after 70 m even if there is no wind at all. However, there is only one barrel that beats this irregularity which is RTI new barrel because its twist rate made especially for the redesign pellets

For me the redesigned are constantly accurate, of course I'm shooting them using RTI Prophet Performance Version.... unfortunately the the barel doesn't shoot slugs well. Enjoying this videos keep them coming

I know exactly what you mean, there's a few RU-vidrs who claim they are great, their rifles are great, their slugs are great, yet they shoot like Stevie Wonder. Plus the slugs they use are shit, their poi is so far from their poa, even at 80/90yds, shocking

If i buy .22 slugs, why do they come in 216 ,217 ,218 sizes?

Hi Glenn, I think the main reason is the different rifling of different barrels, with the high speeds slugs are shot there is very little room for error, my one barrel shoots amazing with 216's but I can't get it to group at all with 218's. The current barrel I have in my Fx loves 217's, much better groupings than with the 218's or 216'es. Barrels are sometimes very fussy, thus having different size ammo helps you to find the one best suited for your gun.

Nice try but the wind is not playing well for you. With no wind I believe you would cut the group size down a lot.

Lesson learned..... 1st Use a bigger target backer when shooting for groups 100yds + in the wind and 2nd bring more than one target sheet...

My impact hates redesign. The 18.1 group is much better at a 100m.

Yes Werner, the barrels / liners differ vastly between guns, my FX loves the redesigneds but only out to about 65m, I was pleasantly surprised by the 15,89gn and 18,13gn JSB's all the way to 100m. But the Hades is just awful beyond 35m out of my slug liner.

if you want to shoot pellets you have to use the right liner and pellet speed , because pellets dont like a fast twist and speed above 870 or so , and slugs must have a fast twist because they stabilize only by the twist., and also a slug wil not be damaged handling/ transport as easy like a pellet

Superior liners shoot both pellets and slugs extremely well. I shoot the 21g H&N .217 900fps and 18.13 jsb 5.52 930 FPS. FX dreamlite .22 500mm superior liner and accuracy is very very good at 100m with both pellets and slugs. With a much better BC Slugs will always outperform pellets at distance and in wind.

@@chasingaccuracy3864 still you need the right twist and speed. For a pellet and slug. And that was not the case i think. .a pellet that goes to fast or rotates to fast will spiral. Large groeping or is instabil. And shows more flyers.

@@peteralexben superior liners are designed to shoot both slugs and pellets. I can’t vouch for other rifles but mine is very very accurate with 21g slug 900 FPS, 18.13 jsb at 930 FPS. I’ve done a lot of chrony testing, tuning and I shoot competition 22lr benchrest, I know accuracy well thanks. @@chasingaccuracy3864 not in the vid is it with tuning its possible i think .. But if you shoot a slug at 1000 fs .en you shoot a pellet it should go faster.. Like1100 because of less ressitance in the barrel. .and you will always get less speed out of the barrel when the pellet leaves.. You need then a twist thats works at distance.say between 700 to 900.. . The lesson is dont shoot at living animals depends at the kind after 50 meter ..if you want to shoot the inch kilzone .in europe a minimum energie is law

I use 33.95 JSBs @967fps, Superior HVY Liner & they shoot sub 1" @107yds no probs, but then, so do nearly all the slugs I use, Knockouts, Wildman 36, 39 & 44gr, Hybrids 26gr. It's pretty good being spoilt for choice. But the 39gr Wildman slugs are the best

Very good the pellets...if you want to hit a cow.🙃 When I almost forgot about their existence...here you come and refresh my memory. Bad, bad boy. 🤬 Oh well, never mind, I'll recover from this, don't worry. 🤕 Now, please, go back to slugs and try to make amends...I really need that. 😁 😁 😁
