I guess when you're going that fast it's better to commit than to try and slow down. The impact from a wipeout that fast is gonna take you out hard as fuck either way.
That wasn't speed wobble, it was the camera exhibiting what we call the 'jello effect', caused by the high frequency vibrations of the engine transmitted through the camera mount.
Yeah it looked like speed wobble but I figured it was just the camera. I wouldn't think that he got much, if any wobble at all. That thing is so stout and the rear wheels are wide enough to prevent that I think.
Excellent designer, fabricator, and detailer ~ it's absolutely awesome. Back in 1970s, when I was in junior high, I use to make miniature 40 mph dune buggies out of junked riding lawn mowers called "REO RIDERs" (because my mom refused to let me have a dirt bike). They looked just like dune buggies, right from the factory. Changed the gearing, used the hood springs from a '63' Olds to pre-load the clutch pedal in opposite direction, and replaced the 7HP Tecumseh with a Briggs 12HP. Later version utilized a Honda 305 Dream twin cyl. If you revved it up, dumped the clutch, and leaned back in the seat it would do a wheelie for 20 yards ... if you leaned over the steering wheel it would do a smoking burnout for 20 yards. They had crappy little 2 speed gearboxes that had to be rebuilt every season. Used them for hill climbing, general trail riding, and to compete against dirt bikes at the gravel pits. Every kid in town wanted me to build em one. I became popular. Oh yeah, one other thing: The cops couldn't bust us or do anything to us, period. technically they were just riding lawn mowers.
Jay is probably going to be the most popular kid at school "What does your Dad do for a living?" "He puts jets on things and makes things go real fast and gets to drive them". Not only that, probably going to have some pretty good school projects, just saying.
"A bit of background for this project: My son has a science fair coming up and he wanted to do a scale model of the solar system. Now I thought, right, that he could do a little one powered by an electric motor... OR, he could make one like this!" *Cut to 20-ft wide moving solar system model running at insane speed*
Michael Onines. Balloon busting inbound! Tachometer measures the speed of the engine (usually RPM). Speedometer measures a vehicle's speed (usually mph/kmh).
For a spinning object you can use a photo tachometer to get its RPM, then use its radius to calculate speed at the edge. That's the use I intended. I can see with this being a video on cramming a moto engine into a dodgem car where you could take it as me using the wrong readout from the engine, though.
Please make more videos in this style, I love the nitty gritty of the builds, how you overcame problems etc. Perhaps have a second channel with loosely edited footage etc from the builds for all us nerds? Cheers!
drop me a message ive got family that races karts and manufactures them, we have a contact with a kart dyno so i might be able to help..... plus i live in lincolnshire :)))))))))))))))
kart** my friend, i had been racing for years and my dad and bother too, now we manufacture kart chassis, but yes there is a kart dyno not far from colin as im from the same area

I like this guys because: 1. He is always active and makes awesome videos 2. He has the same music style as me :) 3. He is always happy My life is not complete without people like this :D keep going Colin, the subscription is worth it!
+ColinFurze My son walked up to me near the end of the video to see what I was watching. He's almost 2, And loves fast cars/Engines. He heard the bike and was interested. We were watching it and at the end when your son walked up to the camera he started smiling and laughing lol. He enjoyed that part probably the most. Just thought I would share
This is by far the best, funny, most creative youtube channel on youtube. The British Humor is the topping like the iceing on a cake. Absolutely love it. Thank you!
In my opinion (which may not matter to anyone) Colin by far most awesome guy on RU-vid! I have been following since about 80k followers or so and have been impressed since day one. Great job mate!!!!
If I am stuck on Mars due to a freak impossible dust storm causing my fellow crew of highly trained astronauts to accidentally leave me and only one other person behind to survive for 3 months and then engineer a life-raft rocket-ship out of scavenged together parts, I'd want that one other person to be Colin Furze.
I'm impressed on how stable it is, very good frame design. Please upgrade the engine to 1k cc, I really want to watch you breaking 200 kmh so this bumper car would be epic!!! Keep making crazyness Colin! Love.
How do you know that this is an authentic Colin Furze video? 1- It either has fire, speed, comic weapon, or wacky house appliance involved. 2- Safety tie. 3- Loud rock songs next to low yet loud Colin. 4- A cameo of a family or friend. 5- "HAHA*HA* YES!" 6- Clouds in the sky (sue me, I live in a desert climate). 7- At some point, you act like you understand what he's saying when you have no absolutely no clue what it means. 8- Colin gets so excited, it's like he's a kid in the candy shop. 9- That 'durrin-durrin-durrin dururrun' guitar outro at the end. Check all the listed items, and you have fulfilled the task of watching an authentic Colin Furze video.
I don't imagine it'd be too much. Since it has 3 wheels, it can be registered as a motorcycle (well, a trike...). It just needs head/tail lights, indicators, a numberplate bracket with permanent lights on it, some mirrors.... And that's it I think. As for the numberplate cost, I'd have no idea.
Best channel on here! I'm guessing you have stuff lined up but how about making a mini tank? Flame thrower, firework launcher and enough power to bash through a wall!
This video was really cool, like the more in depth look at the build. Would be cool to see the same in up comming builds, or even a closer look at the mobility scooter👍
You probably already know but when you combined the pipe from the headers you put back flow pressure loosing performance. Front wheel drive and rear wheel steering with rocker free wheels on the sides. Considering it's now 2020 I'm sure you have already figured it out. Great show I just subscribed and loving it already:) Keep up the great work!!!! Going through and liking everyone of them!!! PS: "Punks Not Dead!!!" :) Love the music too!!!!
Hey Colin, you could ratchet strap it down to the dino. It would stay steady and produce the downforce you need in order for the wheels to maintain contact with the rollers.
you need to build an under carriage so it doesnt get sandblasted under all there. Also your losing power because of the straight open loud pipes , it needs back pressure so put some mufflers on it .
Dynojet makes kart/atv dynos with 2 drums that are 17.5" apart. If that's still too wide (might be, this thing is a narrow), the car dynos have drums that go all the way across, but they might have too much mass to dyno it properly.
Honestly prefer this to the big video. You should do more of this more detailed stuff. Obviously it's not as popular as the big videos but I'm sure a lot of long time subscribers enjoy it and can tell you enjoy making it. Quality videos as usual though Colin. Keep doing cool shit.
Got an idea for an invention! A cooler attached to the bottom of the table with cold drinks in and a table has a hole where a platform with a drink in will raise up through the table just in the press of a button. The hole in the table will have a metal hatch that can be remotely opened/closed!
Uncle Bob might need to change his pants now! Very nice job with the world's record Colin, I think the proper British phrase would be "smashing!". Your little boy is adorable, love him, I'm sure your hands are quite full!
