Actually, the first time Community digs at Glee is when Jeff says "she made me watch Glee. I hate Glee." And Pierce says "yeah I never understood the appeal of that show " in regard to that one teacher that Jeff temporarily dates

Community is one of the smartest and well written TV shows ever. So underrated. Also, the amount of incredibly successful people associated with this show is astounding. Shows you the type of show this is. Here are a few: - Russo brothers obviously (Infinity War, Endgame, Cap 2, Civil War). They directed a lot of episodes - Justin Lin (director of Fast and Furious 3-6, and doing 9th and 10th installments). Also directed a few episodes, including the first paintball one - Dan Harmon (creator of Rick and Morty) - Jim Rash won an Oscar in 2011 i think for writing - Brie Larson was Abed's girlfriend for a few episodes - Ludwig Goransson just won an Oscar for his music in Black Panther. He's the composer of Community - Donald Glover, obviously - Chris McKenna, wrote the script for Ant Man and the Wasp, Spiderman Homecoming, and Far From Home. He wrote a few Community eps, including the Remedial Chaos Theory one.

it makes me feel weirdly uncomfortable whenever a show doesn't go well behind the scenes, it makes me really sad for some reason

Dean Pelton is probably my favorite of the bunch. As the heart and soul of Greendale he was often the driving force behind the crazier shenanigans and plot development for the school as a whole.

since netflix’s acquisition of the show a film could be much more likely as the majority of the cast including yvette are interested and netflix i’m sure could pay glover to be in the film... so it’s much more likely now... we’ll just have to wait and see... also alison brie did say recently on a reddit q&a that she recently got a call regarding the film and that fans should stay tuned. maybe a joke maybe not we’ll just have to see

For those still wondering, there is still a sliver of hope. Donald Glover seems to be enthusiastic about a community movie and even went to a table read about a year ago. There have also been talks that dan harmon is slowly writing a script. The difficulties of the pandemic + the schedules of other members and the script still casts a burden tho. I'm just happy to see gears turning!

no one noticed in the last episode.. when jeff and annie were alone, they say, "the marvel movies are not a big deal" and "they're flavorless and bland" which is a funny poke at the russo brothers lol

i love how creative the writers were like in a lot of sitcoms the situations are all the same but in community the things that happen are totally unique

Re fact 6 - I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that Jeff's chair is always empty and this signifies his egotism/emotional state, I just thought it was more a symbol of him being the "leader" of the group and having more voice.

Keep in mind, they had a hiatus after this Season and considering Community's less then stellar ratings at the time, many thought it wouldn't be renewed for another year. When writing this episode, they were probably uncertain of a 4th (and final) Season and threw that line in. But why only 4 Seasons when the tagline is #6Seasons #andamovie? Well, college typically lasts for 4 years, so while the hope was to make it to 6 Seasons, they were trying to at least reach 4. Abed being aware he's in a tv show, makes a "4th wall breaking" rap reflecting the show's trajectory of 4 seasons every year for 4 years. Let's break it down... School usually starts in late summer, so following a school calendar, the seasons (with a small S) aka semesters start in this order: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring and then they're on vacation before the new school year starts again. This is how the 4 seasons should pass in each school year of their 4 year journey. The "meta" is that each school year also makes up each show's Season (with a capital S). Absorb that for a sec. Ok now, if we were to designate each of the show's (annual) Seasons for actual (weather) seasons, then the 1st Season of the show would be Summer, the 2nd Season would be Fall, the 3rd Season (when Abed makes this Christmas rap) would be Winter, and the 4th Season (which was not yet developed) would be Spring. TL; DR: Essentially, they could be cancelled before season 4 and this could be the last time they do a show.

I don't get why actors like Donald Glover would cost that much. Sure, they are worth a lot, but if it's a project they'd love to do and you know the fans would love it, why demand such high pay?

Best show ever!!! It got me through a few dark chapters in my life, and is here for my happy times as well! It just never gets old! It is sophisticated and childish at the same time! Anyone and everyone can appreciate it! I can't say enough good things about this fabulous tv series!! Sigh

The saying beetleguist three times and he shows up is my favorite running skit on the show. I love it.

Joel McHale mentioned on his podcast with Ken Jeong that Harmon paid for the rights to use Roxanne personally. I don't know if the "budget" for the show for music was just referring to Harmon's own cash since it was running on an extremely limited budget after Season 2, though.

When talking about things you wouldn’t notice and spanning over episodes you forgot that when Shirley is having her baby abed says he delivered a baby the year before. If you look in the background of the episode when Annie and Britta are raising money from the oil spillage you can see him delivering the baby theoughout the episode

You forgot, In one of the episodes of the show (i don’t remember which) there’s a news broadcast on the tv that I’m pretty sure John Oliver/Professor Duncan was watching. I just got into Community while in quarantine and binged it all. Immediately after I finished, the reunion table read was announced. I will now have to rewatch the show so I can study the background more. I didn't realize there were so many easter eggs!
