This was in my recommended videos and it is one of the most fun ways to learn something new ever! So many facts and I know, after sleeping, I have zero chance of remembering any of them. (sigh)
I can never remember any of them if I try, but find I remember random ones during conversations with people long after... never any that has anything to do with the conversation but I'm hopeful it will one day.
The Greeks mistook mammoth skulls for a Cyclops because there is a hole front and center where their trunks accessed their sinuses. Google it. Peace out!
After The Great Train Robbery in the UK in August 1963, the robbers hid out at an isolated farm, to pass the time they played Monopoly using real money, this was a mistake because they found that they could not play whilst wearing the thick gloves that they used to prevent leaving fingerprints so they took them off, the police raided the farm after the thieves left and identified them from the prints left on the Monopoly board. This Monopoly set is now in Scotland Yard's Black Museum, which is not open to the public
The buttered toast thing is wrong. The reason buttered toast lands buttered side down is, once the toast is buttered, the side with butter on it is heavier. Butter is actually kinda heavy. Not super heavy like rocks, but kinda heavy. Heavy enough to make light toasted bread flip to the buttered side as it falls to the floor, buttered side down. Your welcome.
That dude who actually came forth complaining his wofe was misrepresented in the Rasputin movie should have been arrested not rewarded by getting paid. He confessed he murdered Rasputin by coming out to complain.
The 'tubes and sacs' in the lungs are called bronchioles and alveoli I know this because I just wrote my bio exam😐 Also, the Killer whale is related to whales and dolphins, they are all part of the cetecean group. The woolly mammoths trunk hole is what the greeks thought the eye of the cyclops was.
Ok.... Story time.... I was listening to this while I was laying I bed right, then all of a sudden I got a heart attack bcos this green cricket, grasshopper or even maybe a spider crawled onto my hand..... I squished it and threw it then was curious on what it was so I turned on my light trying to look for it but couldn't find it anywhere lmao
1:57 A chef's toque doesn't have a hundred folds, and there are only EIGHT ways to cook an egg! 3:16 Australia is not a circle, so has no diameter. 21:15 Orcas or Killer whales belong to the family of dolphins, which belong to the family of toothed whales, so...Very interesting facts!
Stumbled on to this channel and really like it. You get some pub quiz ammo and it’s a bit of a laugh. But I’m surprised that pirates hasn’t had its101 treatment as far i can find. I mean proper pirates not the Disney films
Thank you for sharing the David Bowie eye factoid. I keep hearing people say he had heterochromia (different eye colors), but knew that it was dilated. Now I can show them this video and tell them they're wrong. So, thanks again.
The one about the swedish wedding tradition: I've never heard of it and I've lived in sweden my whole life, attended multiple weddings and was married myself. It must be a really old tradition...
Sam, I have some suggestions you should cover for future videos. Suggestions: 101 facts about Glee 101 facts about the Netherlands 101 facts about Singapore 101 facts about I Love Lucy 101 facts about Chicago, Illinois
Each fold would double or 2x the thickness, not including airspace is assume completely flat folds. 42 folds,by halves. So 2 to the 42 times the thickness of the paper. 2to10 is 1024 2to40 is 1024 to 4 2 to 42 is then 4 times 1024 to 4. More than 4*10^12 or 4 followed by 12 zeroes. 4trillion
The "love" in tennis has a similar origin to "duck" in cricket as a batsman dismissed with no score was originally said to be "out for a duck egg" because "0" looks like a duck's egg.
Kinder eggs are not banned in the United States anymore. They remade the design. Candy is on one side of the half egg shape and the toy is on the other side of the half egg-shaped.
Right as I was about to get to fact #1 on this video, I accidentally clicked on the 101 facts about Scott Pilgrim vs. the world (which I started to watch the other day, and also got to right around fact # 1, but I got distracted) but I didn’t realize I had clicked on a different video. So I was really confused when the “facts about anything and everything” appeared to all be about Scot Pilgrim vs. the world lol 🤦🏼♀️
We have kinder joy in the US. It's in an egg shaped container but it's more like a half egg filled with pudding 2 chocolate balls and a toy in the other half
Kinder eggs have been legal to sell in America for a little while now. They just have to print a huge warning on the front like a pack of cigarettes. Curiously though you can still buy candy cigarettes in America but those DO NOT come with a warning. 🤷♂️
