Notice that at this point, they were branding themselves "1010 WINS News Radio." It was because of this that then-rival, now-sister station WCBS used the slogan "All-News 88" for a few years. And they started using the "wins" pronunciation again for the first time since Top 40 days, in 1978, when they had the "New York WINS" promo campaign.
