Peach Slices has a terrific 10% AA formula. I've recently been using Isomers Azelaic Acid Booster Complex, which has 14% AA (I love that they went right up to the line).

I'm pretty sure almost every derm pregnancy video recommends azelaic acid as one of the few products that's safe to use.

Even at 10% for calming ,anti inflammatory effect azelaic acid is wonderful.Works very fast as calming anti redness ,anti irritation ingridient.Helped me to adjust my skin to tretinoin really good.Works much faster than all cica/centella products

I use Paula’s choice 10% azelaic acid booster and it keeps by acne at bay, without it I get pimples, I think it has more impact than Differin and is my main squeeze for inflammatory acne lol. I have considered trying and rx level to see if a higher % Makes a difference

I use the Paula’s choice at moment but have used prescription as well. Prescription is definitely stronger but can be more irritating and drying for sure. I used to have bad Hormonal acne from birth control and now that I’m off it - I find I don’t need prescription strength anymore. I still have combination/ oily skin but the Paula’s choice version is effective enough. I also used prescription tretinoin while I tried both versions of azelaic acid.

Dermatica has a 20% and it really helped me when my insurance company decided Azelaic was cosmetic even thou I have rosaca

By the way I have heard The Ordinary has recently improved their 10% azelaic acid in this past year. There was no announcement or anything but I’ve been asking people who have tried the product before. And they say they feel a formulation difference as there’s no grittiness now. I bought one a couple months ago and it was not gritty.

I have acne prone very sensitive skin. Azelaic at 10% and 15% really helps my skin. But I can't use the 15% twice a day as it stings my skin. I tried the derivstive from Geek&Gorgeous, and it broke me out. Also, when it comes to brightening, I only get good results if Azelaic acid is mixed with other brightening ingredients.

Amazing. Thank you for the podcast. Can't wait to trying your Specialist AHA/BHA mix once it hits UK shores. I have oily skin and look forward to a once a week delve into an exfoliatimg mask routine. Hope your products will be available here soon. By the way: Dermatica have 12-15% azelaic acid over the counter in the UK. They can also do an online consult and do a mixed formulatuon according to your skin care needs (online consult woth photo uploads etc). I'm currently using the 15% azelaic acid in the morning, and the Dermatica custom formulated (0.05% tretinoin + 15% azelaic acid + 5% tranexamic acid serum that comes in 12.5ml) at night. Only one month in, noticed some changes in texture. And my skin is way less sensitive to other skincare products. No change with hyperpigmentation (Fitzpatrick IV skin type)

My favourite chemists! This sparked a question that I'm dying to get your thoughts on. How much do you think concentration matters as compared to the applied dose? So in this example, if I dilute one part of my 20% azelaic acid formulation with one part water and then apply twice as much of it, doesn't the water just evaporate off my skin and leave me with the same dosage of AA? I get super confused about why concentrations are such a sticking point when there's no consensus for most product types of how much you should be applying in the first place! Another example: science-based skincare people often point to the fact that niacinamide has mostly been studied at 3-5%, but when I read the studies they're mostly about niacinamide-containing moisturizers - so it's completely realistic to me that someone who is applying just a couple drops of the TO 10% niacinamide serum is getting a similar dose to someone covering their face in a 5% niacinamide mosturizer! Anyway, maybe there's something here about the effect that concentration has specifically as compared to dose that I don't get because I don't know that much cosmetic chemistry / skin physiology. Would love to know your thoughts!

hello:) amazing episode as always!:)I wanted to ask what would be the most effective over the counter ingredient to use on my chest prone to acne? (I am stingy with my tretinoin which I only save for the face haha, since it's hard to get the prescription for it)... currently I just use either glycolic or salycilic, was thinking to include azelaic 10% as extra, but based on all the lack of data, do you think it could be worth it? Or would retinol 1% be worth it?Or what else I could use?:) I dont think those acids help much:( thank yoU!

Just discovered your videos and am learning so much... but I'm hoping you could re-address collagen supplements, specifically with a video OR comment on Dr. Abs Settipalli's videos on collagen drink supplement NutralCost which addresses type 4 and 7 as opposed to 1 and 3 (found in all others) which are not effective on skin - according to science and studies he addresses?
