You certainly have all the right equipment for doing thing properly and looking professional doing it. Awesome choices and thanks for sharing. Good luck with schooling
Much appreciated, Bob! Thanks for your nice comments. I’ll have some exciting news regarding my schooling in the near future. I appreciate you acknowledging that. Thanks again for your nice words!
One caution about the 3-point mounted trailer hitch. If the load in the trailer is loaded, or it shifts back behind the axle, or if there is minimal tongue weight, it can lift your 3-point since it has no down force. It could possibly make for a dangerous situation, depending on the particular circumstances.
Great insight as usual! There is absolutely a great amount risk when using a trailer mover like this. The balance of the load is critical when moving heavy objects with a relatively light tractor. Knowing how much tongue weight you have and appreciated balancing your load is a must. Thank you for mentioning this!
Thank you! I was surprised at how easy these are to build. I'll see how strong the hooks are. Ill put it to the test to see what kind of welder I am lol. Thanks for the comments!
Thank you! I cant wait to get some more use out of it this spring/summer! BTW I'm loving your snowblowing videos lately. I'm so jealous of all the snow you've gotten this season! Send some my way :)
I have the receiver in my titan forks for my 2038R. I find it much easier to push my trailers. Pushing I only need an inch on each side to put my trailers anywhere I want it to be Yours is very well done tho and if we were all the same it would be pretty damn boring lol
Do you ever regret not getting the 2025r? I want to get a tractor with a backhoe but was wondering if I should save the 3k or go a little bigger. I would appreciate your opinion.
Hi David, thanks for asking! I personally don’t see much difference between the 1025 and 2025 other than frame size, tire size, and therefore lift height. Otherwise they are practically identical. The 2025 is 6 inches wider (I believe), making it less desirable for me as tight spaces are crucial for some of the work I do. 6 inches isn’t much, but every bit counts. Since the hydraulic flow is the same, the 1025r was my ideal choice. However, if you think you’ll need the few additional inches of loader lift height, the 2025 might be a better option. Otherwise, my vote is stick with the 1025.
Thanks for the reply, just one more question? Did the dealer negotiate any with you? Mine seems set with his price but his has been the lowest of all i called?
@@davido6915 No problem, David! I didn’t do much negotiating with my dealer during my purchase. I asked the dealer (which is a large network of dealers) if they had any “holdover” models from previous years that did not get sold. Turns out they had a brand new 2017 1025r that wasn’t sold located at another dealership within their network. I received roughly 20% off the sticker price simply because it was 2 years old. It was the exact same machine as the one on the show room floor, just two years old. Still brand new. It may be worth your effort to find a dealer that potentially has holdovers. Once I saw the decrease in price, I didn’t feel it was necessary to negotiate the price down any further. I thought I received a good deal. I hope this helps.
Hey Billy! Great question. The answer is yes, but the tail wheel of the rotary cutter will stick over the back of dump trailer a little. On the dovetail utility trailer, I have to back onto the trailer versus head on. The tail wheel will overhand in the front tongue a little bit because it doesn't have enough lift height to clear the tailgate if I drove on head first. I hope that makes sense.
@@TheLittleGreenTractor Makes perfect sense. I just picked up a 18ft equipment trailer. Haven't had the rotary cutter on to try fitting but hope it does.
@@BillyP55 Great choice with the 18ft over the 16ft if you have a rotary cutter. I think that should fit just about snug. The more space the better! Congrats on your new trailer!
