How pretty they all turned out😀. I'm sure they will all sell. You make them look very realistic. I've had a couple of tries, just can't get it right. I live very close to the beach, literally it's at the bottom of my lane😀. I sometimes pick up pieces of slate that were once roof tiles and use them in my garden, mostly around my pond. I also collect sea glass and sea pottery with the idea I can do something artistic with them. Have a large pot of pieces but artistic intent still escapes me - maybe coasters. I personally wouldn't remove shells which provide homes for the marine life but I suppose broken shells that can longer sustain a habitat might be okay.
Tazmin Moore we all have creative talent in us. The slate sounds like a fabulous material to work with. Take a look at my video (95) I am beginning on a series of river beds. Slate would work beautifully with that. Ignore the shape - that was just to demonstrate my jigsaw. Do it square or rectangular. Good luck 🌸
It creates a good surf look with cells and an appearance of bubbly waves. But you must use heat. Watch that part of the video again. Thanks for watching 🌸
I live over 13 hours away from the nearest beach so I have to buy my sand from the Dollar Tree. I buy the white sand so when I mix it with my resin. it darkens and turns to the color of real sand. I hope this helps. 🥰
Jules Madison, where do you find the little toy turtles and mermail tails? I can't find any of those toys at our Dollar General or Dollar Tree stores here in the mountains of Missouri. Maybe those are toys related to the area in which you live or can I find them on Amazon somewhere? Your little trays turned out so stinking adorable and you make it look so easy! I especially LOVE 💖 the round plates with the starfish all the way around the rims. I would buy a bunch of those if we had them here. Do you have links to purchase any of these items perhaps??? I really enjoy watching your channel and I really adore your accent and your little doggie is just precious too. We have 2 tiny miniature Toy Schnauzers that go everywhere with us too. They are actually our service dogs that I trained from birth. My little black female goes off louder than a bloody siren when I have a seizure and she jumps up and down on my chest and licks my face to help keep me semi conscious until help arrives. She's literally saved my life many times doing this. I just taught her kisses from the day she was born, the rest she figured out on her own. This breed of dog is unusually intelligent. Does your little doggie watch TV? It is rare for a dog to really watch TV because most dogs can't actually see the LED screens used in the new TVs today. My little girl can see the screen but my little boy cannot. I always knew she was special though. LOL!
laya dua I initially used a small blob of glue to hold them in place but they have 2 coats of resin that is now really holding them tight. Thank you for watching 🌸
Thank you for a very informative video! I want to make a set of earrings and a necklace for a friend who loves the ocean but lives in Indiana......with no ocean. You art is amazing and I will recommend you site & store to my friends. It was very nice of you to list the ingredients that you used. Very few artists do that! Wishing you well!! Chris
Lovely! There is only one thing that drives me crazy. Mermaid tails! Anytime I see them it's as if I picture someone cutting a mermaid in half. ☹ I love your ideas and art otherwise. 🧜♀️ I love how you did the surf. Is there a reason you use elmers glue with the sand instead of resin?
Robyn- Spiritual Journeys What a shame. It’s a way of preserving their natural beauty and they are all just going to turn into sand. You’ll just have to take a vacation to the Caribbean 😎. Thanks for watching 🌸
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign That's a good idea but i wouldn't get them through customs.... unfortunately again, but then australia does stop alot of diseases from coming in.... love your work xx
I looked everywhere - Amazon, Dollar Store etc in the USA and I couldn't find anything I liked. I live part-time in Turks and Caicos and went into the Do It Center for something and there they were. Sorry - not what you wanted to hear I'm sure. Thanks for watching 🌸
Krystal Ferina No definitely not. If you are not familiar with epoxy resin I suggest that you do a lot of research. It is flammable and an oven is not where you would cure it. Thank you for watching 🌸. Search for videos on resin for beginners. Good luck.
Please.... what sort of plastic you use for the resin pour to make the ocean lights? is it thick plastic like for rain protection? maybe a dollar store shower curtain??seems thicker than just wax paper...and i need something to pull away from the resin, as it starts to harden...right?
Arts By Debi Hi Debi. I presume that you are not referring to this video (103) but one of my light changing ones (73 perhaps?). I use heavy duty plastic that painters use to cover floors. 🌸
I live part time in the Caribbean and bought them there. I couldn't find any in the US or online that made economical sense for selling them at a price that would sell. Thanks for watching 🌸
