SJ - it’s the way you say the names that makes them sound so nice because when I repeat them out loud to myself they don’t sound so beautiful as when you say them 🤣
Kristen Ambriel I’ve dreamed of making my kids room (in the future) garden themed, like light green wall and a canopy with lights and like white flowers and omg a fairy name to match would make me cry😂
Tinkerbell fairy names Zarina Silvermist Vidia Iridessa Rosetta Gloss Clarion Fawn Periwinkle Flora Fauna Merryweather Hope I got them all for you have a great day
This would be absolutely amazing!!! I’m not pregnant, and don’t have any kids, but one day if I am lucky enough, I fully plan on giving my baby (if it’s a girl) a fairy/magical name 🦋
My Gran's name is Gweneth which I think is lovely. I thought that gypsy was considered an ethnic slur? Icelyn reminds me of the name Iselin, which I love. Lovisa is is brilliant but here in Australia also a jewellery brand. Magenta is sooo striking, always makes me think of Rocky Horror Picture Show! Marcheline was Angelina Jolie's Mum's name too. Your Husbands home town sounds very Midsommar-ish! :-)
Gypsy is considered a name and I have seen it in baby name books before now. I also personally have met two people called Gypsy, one a school friend and one a work colleague. Both lovely people. You can get Romani Gypsies and also Irish Travellers are sometimes called Gypsies. My family on my fathers side has Irish Gypsy Heritage and proud of it. I don't believe it is offensive. There is even a superhero called Gypsy in DC comics who fights alongside Batman and Superman in the Justice League.
My name is luca and its actually pronounced loo-tsa. Its Hungarian and is a feminine name there. In school whenever they read my name off a list they aways pronounced it wrong and thought I was a boy 😂 Iike it now tho cause its pretty different
I would love this type of video for boys too! Names I like from your video: Amethyst (great for a middle name!), BellaRose, Dove (Love this!), Faelynn, Harlowe, Icelyn, Magenta, Nyla, Odette, and Xaria.
Ah this has been sooo helpful 😅 Planning baby #2 and my husband doesn’t like anything I suggest! He adores our daughter Indigo’s name... and wants something he adores as much. Absolutely LOVE Faelyn 😍 I hope he does too!
So many lovely options! I’m pregnant with a little girl named Primrose, and she will be called Posy as a nickname. I prefer the Posy spelling personally. And I’m in team Story! Gorgeous!
Hi! My name is Roya. It’s Persian and means “sweet dream.” As someone with a very unique name, I thought I’d share since you do a lot of “unique baby name” videos, and I’ve never heard you use that name before. Also I love your videos!
I wish I was having a baby this year - so many great names to choose from! My absolute favourite you mentioned is Lilou 😍 I can’t believe I’ve never come across it considering I study French. I was trying to come up with some alternatives to Lily just the other day too and it’s perfect! And Quigley for a girl is just oh so cute, I never would have thought of that, major props 🤝 Can’t wait to see the baby names that defined the decade!
I have a cousin called Adeline but it is pronounced a bit like the name Idalina. She spent the first three days of her life having it pronounced "Add-uh-line" but since my aunt is German they decided to use the German pronunciation which is "Add-uh-lean-uh" and I think it's quite pretty!
My aunt was researching family records and came across a record of a great great aunt with the first name of Comfort. My heart melted. I thought that was such a sweet name.
Tiffany Woods I feel like Comfort would be a really lovely name if only it weren't for the fabric softener brand. Apparently my friends ancestor was called Febreze 😂
Dulcie, Lovisa & Gaia were all names of girls in my last class that I taught! It was the first class I’ve taught where none of them had common names. They were all old names or ones I hadn’t heard before. You hear so many lovely names as a teacher! Love it 💗
My step dad's last name is Storey and has been a big part of my life. If I ever have a girl, I've always considered having STOREY as a middle name for her 😊
Love these! I believe Zosia is said, “Zaw-sha”. Similar to Sasha. Such a fun list! I’d love to hear a double names list. My little sister is Annie Carole, and I love a good double name. 😊
Xochitl is pronounced like “Soh-Cheel” and is very beautiful! My grandma had a daughter and named her this but unfortunately she didn’t make it past two weeks 💔
You might like my older sisters name. Her name is "Romanette." My dad met a gypsy princess in his country in South America and her name was Romanette and my father fell in love with that name ever since so when he and my mom had their first daughter that was the name he gave her. Also since you mention French I always thought it would be neat to meet a girl with the famous artist name "Monet" As her first name. anyways have a good year in 2020 for another new beginning. Oh also my younger brother have a unique name as well, my father also named him. His name is "Romauld" you pronounce it like this Rome-walled.
I'm an author and I love watching these videos as name inspirations. I just did a book featuring a boho character. Her parents were hippies and named their baby girl "Duckling" or "Ducky" as a nickname.
Loved this video, SJ!! Rare, pretty and girly sounding names are my favourite girl names! Hope you and the family had a lovely Christmas, and a very happy new year to you! 💖
Yannick Petunia and Pine 🌲 Plaid Banyan Cliff and Cecil Cowan Ambrose Elven Shelby Aurelia Presley Shepherd Jean Harlow Taylor Pretoria Dickson Marie March Nixie Daphne and Daisy Dillon and Delaney
Estee is funny to me, because here in Canada "Estee Lauder" is a ubiquitous department store makeup company, but a nice name in any other place, I guess.
I just filmed 4 weeks worth of names that are just really pretty words and some of them on your list! I love these! Faelynn is amazing!! Fairy Kingdom?! Amazing.
🤣 love of names started young. Glad I’m not the only one who named their pencils! Love magenta. If I have a girl, it needs to be a flower name as my eldest asked “if we have a baby girl can we call her flower” I like shoshana, (sho shay na/Shosh hanna) but can’t see hubby agreeing with me on that one. It means lily/rose in Hebrew. My wedding flowers were white roses/Calle Lily’s/ivy
Ohhh I got so many new names to put on my Sims list, thanks!! I've just finished doing a 100 baby challenge but now I'm doing a A-Z challenge where you have to name every baby in alphabetical order and since I love names so much I'm doing a double name challenge 😁
Thank you for making these videos! Names have been the biggest guilty pleasure of mine since I was 8 or 9, and now that I'm almost ready to have my own kids, it's so fun to watch these videos and get ideas!
Such a lovely list of names, i could easily choose from it( if i wasn’t already done having children😂) bide away, “simcha” is pronounced simha sort of, quite hard to say it in english properly , however, it does mean happiness, gladness👍💖
I loved this list name idea. I love some of those. Leilani was probably my absolute favorite. Topanga from Boy Meets World and then in Girl Meets World. Would you be up for a boys name list this long?
Hi SJ!!! I would love to see American names! I think there are many avenues you can take with it also! Like southern names , popular names, ‘LA names’ etc ☺️
I was doing some family tree stuff on Ancestry over Christmas and I found the name "Permelia" which means "all honey" and I loved it 😍 but I haven't found much about it 🤔 could be a cute vintage name. The ancestor was from the 1800's I believe
It’s so interesting to hear what connotations names have in different languages - some of these would not work in my language while others are gorgeous. I’ve recently fallen for the name Filippa for a girl, a female version of Philip, what do you guys think?
First of all your hair in this video 😍 it's totally gorgeous on you! I'd love to see a boy list like this, 'musicals' inspired baby names and a sibling name list. Currently pregnant and due in May. Loving all the lists this year 😊
I have a son named Hunter. His dad named him after his fave hobby Hunting. I only agreed to it cuz of the beautiful actress Hunter Tylo & the wrestler Hunter Helmsley. I came close to naming my youngest boy Orion but changed my mind & went with Phoenix, naming him after a Harry Potter movie & then found out its more often used for girls than boys. I love so many of the names you picked in here. Such a great list!!
Kim Groves my grandmothers named is hope and her sisters name is faith and she complains everyone thinks they’re so original when people get them matching things with their “name” on it but really it’s just random house decor if that makes since lol, but I love the name. It’s so sweet and short😊 good name choice!
i have an aunt called Yvette (pronounced eve-ette) and i just think it’s a really beautiful name. Loved so many names in this video, one of my favourite videos !!!
I have a black cat that I named Nyx because I loved the meaning and it fits her perfectly! Because people aren't used to hearing it I always tell them it's pronounced like Stevie Nicks which adds to the boho witchy goddess vibe ✨🌙
I’m already using some of these names of my sims! I have a BellaRose, Estee, Freddie (girl), Kensington, Lailani, Pia, Posie & Rumi. Thanks for the inspiration on lots more names
