Went up to the river EARLY this morning ahead of the heat. Mostly "fishing the nursery" this time of year, but had three normal sized trout in the mix of the rest. I don't have a high lake close to hit like this and wish I did; 500cfs is some thin water to get out on. Oh well, soon I'll be casting from atop a sheet of ice. Glad you had fun, FFD. ☮ from North Idaho.

Thank you for uploading! Took a break from the water and working already this AM. This was just the notification I needed. Arctic grayling on nymphs have been a blast this last 2 weeks here in north Colorado.

Still have yet to try my dry flies. Had fun today with a foam popper. Landed some 3 to 4 pound large mouth bass. Feels like cheating.

I've fished all those high lakes since I was a kid. Way before all the transplants showed up here. So him saying don't give away too much, nice try bud. Way ahead of ya.

It's good to remember that everyone has their own journey that brings them to these beautiful spots. We're all part of a big community of anglers who love and respect the sport and the environment. Let’s focus on sharing what we know and keeping these lakes beautiful for the future, no matter where we started. We're all here because we love fishing and the great outdoors. Cheers and FISH-ON!!

@FlyFishDan agreed. It's just frankly, sad to see the destruction in the area since the transplants came. When I was a kiddo and into my 20s, you'd maybe run into 2 people on a weekend camp trip in the wilderness. Now it's flooded with people and there's trash left. Which I end up packing out. I've come to the point of bringing in extra garbage bags with me. As a local who was born here, it's just frustrating. Most of the transplants are of a certain "type" of person, which I won't get into on here. I can say that with certainty. My message is everyone needs to do their part and pick up their trash and don't be entitled, or glare at me because I'm wearing a pistol on my hip and ride a horse into the back country. We have traditions. If they don't like them, they can gladly head back to whatever california town they came from. But yes, I'm here for the fly fishing.

Well said - I do the same when exploring, typically I have a bucket full of trash, discarded line, can, bottles, etc. Thankfully, there are still places that are somewhat unknown, just tougher to get there these days as I am getting older and definitely not as spry. :)) I wish you the best and FISH-ON!!
