DAMN BRO, you can drive!! Also, big respect to you for not tailgaiting other drivers and trying to impose them with your driving style. A lot of people can learn something from this video!
Nothing like having your heart in your mouth on a b-road :) - this kind of driving was done carefully. No tailgating and reckless over taking. Just a bit of fun. Track days are safe and controlled, but your local back roads are always more fun
Just put down a deposit on a quicksilver that's essentially been converted to a track ready GTI spec. It's a J4 bottom end, JP4 head, J4 cams, induction, four branch, straight through, etc etc and stripped. Also has bigger brakes and bilsteins all round. Interior is very tatty (what is left is a bit cracked or damaged) , but mostly stripped with a couple of buckets. I'm used to large, big engined cars, but the little pug flies! Can't wait. Going to book a couple of track days for it this year, but will be giving it a little tickle round some country lanes. I do think that whenever people see someone driving a car fast around country lanes they automatically feel they have to call people names and say 'take it to the track' etc. Oddly, there are millions of bike vloggers and videos of people hooning around country lanes, popping wheelies and all sorts, yet, no one ever says to them 'take it to the track' they are always praised and 'have balls'. Whilst arguably biking does require 'balls' because bikes do require more skill in some ways to corner quicker, 'having balls' is arguably translated in car speak to, that was fucking dangerous. I am a biker too, and, the roads you were on I guarantee most bikers would never drop below 70, and spent most of that time way above that. I don't agree with people racing round towns, overtaking like twats, or racing others in cars on the roads. But what I saw here, was someone opening up their car and having fun, no dodgy overtakes at all, not even a bit, very cautious and considerate and safe in that department - seen many worse overtakes and idiots every day. The chap obviously knows the route too, and likely any nasty spots to look out for as us bikers do on country road routes, and he wasn't racing anybody. Add to that, he wasn't exactly sliding all over the place and looked in perfect control, and all I see is a chap having some fun on his own round the twisties much like bikers do. Anyhow, nice little car man, can't wait to pick mine up at the weekend!
Steve thanks for your comment mate means a lot. I'm sure you'll love your 106. There awesome little cars that are so cheap to run. I do know that road very well and like you say not one person kicks off about bikers doing the same. This is what these kind of cars are all about. My 106 is just about to be sold as I have a baby due in May but I'll have another toy soon enough. If you need any help or advice with yours give me a shout 👍🏻
YW buddy :) Yep lots of people always point fingers and have double standards. Shame you are having to sell, but parenthood is awesome too, so a good reason to sell up :) Good luck with the littleun, and appreciate the offer of advice thanks! Yep, can always get another! Take care.
That’s quick, I mean these cars fly as it is but stripped out with mods 😮, also can’t take any credit away from the driver, responsible and talented 👍🏻
I could make a comment about boy racers or whatever but this looks like a decent build. Proper harnesses and bucket seats, polycarbonate (I'm guessing) windows and a decent exhaust note for a smaller engine. You were clearly in control the whole time and you didn't overtake like a dick. I'm getting a 106 soon (1.1L) and this is the kind of build I'm after. Good job.
Gread vid mate mega bit of road for getting a shift on that is I'm fairly local so We use that road when get out on the bikes for blast but we start from Melton and follow it through to McDonald's on the A6 for break 😁
Just a quick question what sort of tyres are you running? (Brand, dimensions, price etc). Hoping to buy a clean GTi in a few months and am aiming for some good, grippy rubber to put on in the early stages. And 306 GTi brakes if they fit :D.
F**k me. Superb driving there. I'd have s**t my pants lol You also didn't do any stupid overtaking until it was safe. I just get paranoid about police and cameras these days on the odd occasion I wanna open it up.
Ascars thanks man, it was only 130bhp with just induction and exhaust system including manifold. It was quite lightweight though but for the low power these produce compared to modern cars they still fly on the back rounds and on track.
Wow wicked mate I'm thinking of buying one and getting the pug1off stage 2 tune on it so its should be about 150hp. Think this video has made my mind up
Andrew Baker basically stock. Had 4-1 mani, pugsport 2inch, induction. Was half stripped at the time but if you check my other videos there's another I've done where the 106 is a lot more stripped out.
I don't see klms/hour so i can't say corner entering Speed is good or bad ,its loud ok , but that dont means it's fast. if you record with dasĥcam it leaves a watermark with your speed . Check it out next time
