Wow. What a podcast. I'm 51 years old, turning 52 in April, 5 half iron/70.3 finishes in 6 years. Working on my 7th calendar year of training (mostly non-structured). My current FTP is at 195. This is seriously Motivational. I'm excited about where my FTP is going to be later on in this summer and fall leading up to Ironman Sacramento, California (10/24/2021). Appreciate this video much. tremendously. Thank you.

I only cycle and have no interest in tri however this was news to me that an Ironman in Sacramento even existed until reading this comment. Thanks!!! I may have to go watch as I am right in the area.

Never go full keto, unless we're competing against each other - then by all means, go full keto, with fasting and no carbs ;-)

Can you put these shorter clips together as a separate podcast on Spotify? Not just successful athletes but the q and a as well?

Hey thanks for the feedback! We'd worry about flooding the feed but will definitely discuss this as a team for consideration. :)

@@TrainerRoad know what your saying. Just the shorter q and a clips are easier to jump on and out of while at work. Often lose focus during the full podcasts.

@@TrainerRoad joe Rogan does it brilliantly. Both full format and highlight clips.

Been doing Mid Vol for a year. Might consider doing Low Vol going forward so I can goof off more with free rides.

i just wonder what gains he'd see on a high volume plan. clearly he was untrained when he started, 100W gain for someone in the 60-70kg range in on the shoulder of the curve. in a past podcast , chad dropped the knowledge that when all their data is pooled the one thing that correlated with ftp when ignoring other variables was volume. Id love to see them publish their data comparing power curves or ftp test results pre and post base, build blocks of different types. they have massive amounts of these data,

Stephen's work/life/training balance would be pretty pressed with a high-volume plan it sounds like. Definitely curious to consider, though!
