They get married EVENTUALLY. The plot of the Helga spinoff was the two of them breaking up when Arnold moves to South America. She was supposed to write him letters during the series. They would have reconciled later. So, not entirely WRONG, but not presented with all available information. :)

I must be the only one not ok with that. That's shipping I never got behind nor could I see it working. In my eyes I always saw it ending up Arnold and Lyla, Gerald and Phoebe (Despite how much I don't like that one) Harold and Rhonda, Nadine and Stinky, Curly and Eugene

LOL. Curly and Eugene? Man, that sounds delightfully disastrous. Curly's evil and sadistic streak coupled with Eugene's tendency to get seriously injured would make for a relationship dynamic that wouldn't be out of place on a slapstick vaudeville stage. I approve entirely. ;)

Seriously. I don't see this ship either. Helga clearly has emotional problems because of her parents and she is a stalker (she was one of my favorite characters btw lol). Arnold seems entirely too stable for her lol.

Arnold and Helga will eventually get together in the jungle movie. I can't wait to see that happen. I have shipped these two together since forever. They are so cute. People who say that they wouldn't work out together have no idea what they are talking about and are obviously not big fans of the show. Many fans who watched the whole show ship arnold and helga and understand that they are meant for each other. They are complete opposites that complete and attract each other. The reason that Helga was so “mean” to Arnold was because of her pent up frustration toward her parents who, as mean as she could be to them, still didn’t pay her much attention. Then there were the peers at school who took the way she presented herself for face value and didn’t bother to get to know her further. The way Arnold was still nice to her after the way she treated him was an affirmation for Helga; who still cares for you even when you’re a bitch? Someone who loves you. Even if she knew it unconsciously, it was still there. It kept her dependency on having Arnold in her life there. She felt like someone finally cared for her. He represents the qualities in herself that weren’t nurtured by a warm environment, so they lie deep inside of her because any time she has shown them, she has been rejected or ignored. It’s apparent in a lot of situations that arnold inspires helga to want to show these qualities. The Helga/Arnold story is a look into the hope and inspiration you can find in people when the ones closest to you have let you down and how even the smallest of kind gestures can change a person’s world. This is why they are my favorite couple and I can't wait for them to finally get together. :)

In the "Married" episode, it seemed like Arnold was going to get through to Helga and help her be okay with her feelings . . . just before he woke up from his dream, of course.

I have good news. Craig said when he confirmed the Jungle movie recently, he said he was going to have Arnold and Helga date and grow up and get married. (Rhonda's fortune teller thing worked!)

Well I do think they would have got married. Cause in an episode it is revealed that Arnold's grandpa and grandma had the same relationship as Arnold and Helga as kids. So there is a chance they could get become a couple.

Well, I meant they would end up together eventually, as in getting married when they were older. Obviously 9-year=old Helga would never tell Arnold her real feelings (and yes, she did in the film, but she took it back later), but maybe she'd get up the courage later. Or maybe Arnold would figure it out on his own and tell her he loves her, too.
