I post videos to improve my English skills and preserve memory. You can see improvement of my English language skills.
I came to Australia on 6th April 2024.
I'm gonna stay here for 1 year with Working Holiday visa.
I know there isn't lots of demand for my videos without editing.
But I don't care about it.
I'll do it everyday for my speaking skill and memory.
I know that sometimes there are mistakes in my English and it can be difficult to understand, but I hope you will warm to me!
And please correct my English! It's so helpful

Hello! I’m a first time viewer! I am an American who has been self studying Japanese mostly through immersion method for many years, and it has greatly improved my listening skills, so I think you’re on the right track if you want to improve your listening skills and overall language/cultural competency! On the other hand, while it’s true some language experts say you should focus on input before output, I think your current level has enough of the foundations that you can clearly begin to express more complex thoughts and opinions in English, so I think it’s fine and even great to also focus on output if that’s what is fun for you! I wish I did more output earlier, as now I’m still pretty weak in speaking, but the important thing is having the will to try and make mistakes. As a linguistics major, I agree that there are many methods and theories of acquiring language, and immersion/input is certainly a critical part. However in my own opinion and experience, I think the most important thing for a second language learner is to find ways to incorporate their target language into their daily life, and you will acquire it naturally over time that way. It shouldn’t really feel like studying in my opinion! I think you’re on the right track. Keep exploring your interests and incorporating English, and you will go far! Your journey is very inspiring as English can be very difficult for Japanese people to learn, but our human minds are wired to learn languages, so you just have to keep going no matter what and it will happen naturally 👍👍👍😊

Hello, I'm from Cebu, Philippines. I used to teach English before with Native Camp from 2016-2022, I have a lot of Japanese students from all walks of life and across all ages. I have lots of Japanese friends before and yea I miss them. Japanese people are great, cute, and lovely. I am a shy person just like Japanese but wacky and friendly once I get to know someone better, or once I feel comfortable with someone. My advice is to just continue learning and speaking English so you will master it. Don't worry about making mistakes, just learn from them, be persistent, and of course, have fun. Sugoi!

As an extension, since you mentioned liking Harry Potter, perhaps you can also watch videos where talk about it as well. But yes take your time! English is not easy especially considering your background! You will get it! Best of luck!

I'm learning French, and watching videos in a new language does sound like gibberish a lot of the time! Watching something I'm already familiar with helps a lot. Maybe try watching children's shows? Since they usually keep the plot to each individual episode, it's harder to get bored. I'd recommend Blue's Clues!
