Yes me too ApolloIsAirborne - my monitor, although old, is perfect as a second monitor. Many thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it - it's always good to get feedback from viewers 😀
Got the classic "out of range" issue, but found 2 fixes on different laptops. 1. (5-year-old 64-bit ASUS): Pressed Windows key +P, then chose "extend" (as you might do if connecting an old TV). Problem magically gone! 2. (3-year-old 64-bit HP): Plugging in made the laptop display flicker like crazy and fail to connect to the external monitor. Uninstalled Intel graphics driver, downloaded Intel Support and Assistance and used that to get an updated driver. Restart, and converter now working fine!
Thank you very much. Really liked the Extended portion of your video. I bought an vga to HDMI a few years back. Did not know there was a difference. I have a HDMI connection on my pc, and vga, dvi and display port on my Dell monitor. Plugged in the vga to HDMI and nothing. Yes, I ordered two HDMI to VGA converters. They're on the way. I found out yesterday that Walmart sells the converters for $16 and change. Since I have two on the way, I'll wait.
Hi Onamission 83. Thanks for your message. Sounds like the monitor is looking for a VGA signal, but is not getting this signal. Some thoughts - Could there be any hardware issues with your computer? Are your drivers upto date? I assume the computer's not in hibernation, sleep or power saving mode? It'd be worth checking your graphics settings again? Have you tried restarting and reconnecting your devices? Do you have another port you could try on your computer? Thanks
IF YOU USE CHROMECAST, ANDROID BOX, ROKU BOX, CHROMEBOOK, FIRE STICK for use with HDMI TO VGA, also use VGA to Video to stretch 16:9 IMAGE horizontally to make it 4:3 aspect ratio. HDMI2AV can’t do menu.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, HDMI to VGA is different from VGA to HDMI. Here's some more details about it - ventiontech.com/blogs/technology-overview/what-is-the-difference-between-hdmi-to-vga-and-vga-to-hdmi-can-they-be-used-interchangeably Hope that will help. Thanks.
This doesn't seem to be working for my MacBook Pro to a Samsung SyncMaster 2333 external monitor with VGA adapter Macbook Pro has an HDMI port. Any idea why?

Hi LegendX Dêspair. I'm using a desktop PC currently which runs two monitors - 1920 x 1080 is my main monitor. I also have a much older Dell monitor (shown in video) so the resolution settings are much lower - they are set at 1600 x 900. So I believe that you should be able to scale to 720p (1280 x 720). Hope that helps. Thanks.
please help , I have a older computer with a 15 pin VGA monitor output , I need a new monitor , I found a new monitor with a D-sub input . will that work ? thanks for your time
This is literally the same Monitor I've been trying to connect to my laptop only with a hdmi port. The resolution is only so so and mine got many dead pixels ( or dust I'm not sure) but still the viewing angles and the overall display is far better than any cheap laptop

I have connected an old monitor via VGA to HDMI (my laptop) but the monitor display is so blurry. Is the adapter the reason why the monitor is blurry? TIA! :)

Would this work if the HDMI was in a PC and the VGA on TV? TV doesn't have a source input to choose for VGA so idk if it will show anything on the PC input
So the mouse is basically working for both the screens ? I’ve got an old monitor and I wanna use the reference in one monitor and work on my laptop. Suppose I wanna use RU-vid on my monitor and use 3d software on the laptop. Will that work ?
Would anybody be kind enough to tell me if this is damaging the GPU in any way? I've got a new RTX 3060 and I urgently want to experiment with AI and stuff so I don't care much about the picture quality I just need something to work for now :) I bought this converter but I'm afraid that it might damage the card in some way, could it?
Just bought a C adapter to VGA. And it my laptop doesn´t recognize the monitor! I don´t know if this problem can be solved changing the adapter to an HDMI to VGA. My old monitor is an HPw17e.

hey, i recently got a new laptop and tried connecting it to my monitor via hdmi - vga, but the screen is black. my laptop recognizes that it is there, the light on my monitor is blue, it doesnt say "no signal", i have everything plugged perfectly, even unplugged and plugged everything in like twice, updated everything possible, restarted multiple times, looked around in settings for hours and i have made absolutely no progress. maybe my monitor had just died or something, so i plugged it in with my old laptop, and it worked perfectly. maybe it was the cable, so i plugged the hdmi end to my old laptop and it worked perfectly still. everything works, but my new laptop just isnt doing anything. what do i do?
I have an old Dell VGA monitor and a VGA > HDMI converter / dongle. My gaming PC has TWO HDMI ports, one on the GPU and the other on the MOBO Im guessing. The one on the Mobo doesnt seem to work. I have update my MOBO BIOS but it still wont work. Any suggestions?
Ok can someone help me? I have a hp monitor with built in speakers but I don't wanna run a aux chord from my tower are there any tips how I could get sound to my monitor? Cause I was trying to use my audio jack and there's no sound either from my monitor or audio jack on my hp vs19 monitor
You won't appreciate VGA unto you run it on a crt monitor in 480p. When you see all those pixels and scanlines in their native environment, then you'll understand.
I would try this. 1. Unplug it. This means all of the connections. 2. Lift it up, roughly 8 to 10 inches from the desk. 3. Hover it with as little movement as possible over the circular, or square in some cases, trash receptor nestled up to the lower portion of your desk. 4. Release both hands simultaneously. 5. The next step is the most difficult, but I promise is a necessity. Open your tool box and take out the biggest wrench you have. Use that wrench to the best of your ability to pry open your wallet. Careful trying to avoid any stench that may escape seeing that it has been void of any fresh air for possibly 2 decades. Take money out and buy a real monitor. Hope this helps.
i have a question: i want to connect my laptop to an old monitor, but the monitor has 3 ports in total, the power port; RGB and the DVI, and the problem i am having now is that i don´t know what port of those i need to use to let my screen display on the monitor, so could smb. please hellppp:(
Hello, I need help because my laptop Acer (aspire-5-a515-54g 10th gen intel) detects my monitor which is AOC (716Vwy) but my monitor just works fine. I tested it with an older laptop and it works fine. Can you help me how to fix it?
What is the difference between HDMI to VGA converter and the converse, i.e. VGA to HDMI because my VGA to HDMI won't work if I try to reverse it. Also is there any specific way to reverse it?

Hi, do you know whether this will work? I plug a hdmi cable into the back of my pc which then plugs into a hdmi 1 in, 3 out splitter. and then one of the 3 out contains a hdmi to vga converter which runs into the back of my vga monitor. will that work?
Hey man so mine even with abd Dvi to vga adapter says out of range and safe mode wont work no matter how much i push F7/8 on my pc any idea to solve the issue?
Yes but VGA picture quality looks like ass. Either use HDMI to HDMI or at least HDMI to DVI if you're connecting to a monitor that has a DVI connection.
