Milton keynes was my old stomping ground. I remember flying over it on a trial flying lesson and thinking it looked soooo boring , flat and square everywhere lol. At least its good for landing and hoping on the train home.😂
Nice one. That's where I sometimes fly my FPV quads. That's where we had our COVID testing centre but the now site has redevelopment plans to become a college.
Great! That explains why on openstreetmap.org it is labelled as Milton Keynes University. I think next time I would land next to Tear Drop Lakes maps.app.goo.gl/EK22JEEpnsLMJy2Z7
Brilliant video, thanks for posting it. I really enjoyed your presentation style, all the little details brought it to life for me :) I've been interested in paragliding for probably about 20 years, but so far I've never actually tried it out.
Sorry, I have no record of the wind speed that day. There was quite a bit of wind, but not as much as the day I flew my longest flight; 202km ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KGif6ZkmjKs.html I prefer the days with almost no wind.
I was told at school that we'd gone metric in the UK. I'm into science, technology, engineering etc. and it's all metric. Paragliding is massive in the European Alps, and they all use metres for altitude there. We have to change to metres here one day, so I'm ready for it. The software on my phone shows altitude in metres larger than it does in feet. The hill I launch from has its altitude marked on all the maps in metres, so I like to know how high I am relative to the hills. The only annoying thing is the airspace altitudes. Fortunately I never need to talk to any air traffic controllers from my paraglider. :)
