The phone call and wave from your mum was nice :) I assume you use an earpiece or something? The worry of dropping anything, like your snack or water bottle, would terrify me, never mind dropping my phone!
I just put the phone on speakerphone without removing it from the flight deck. Yes, the water bottle could be lethal if drropped from altitude, when full. I guess I should have a strap tied to it.
