It definitely helped his catalog and popularity after the Chappelle Show sketch about the piss video though. Then he had a whole trial about the video where he's doing it (among other things) with a minor, walked, and Boondocks made a whole episode about it too. I'm not taking anything away from his music career but that whole ordeal with the piss video and everything around it made him more popular than ever.

Vlad never spoke about the recent incident when some Princeton professor tweeted to him that he has no entitlement to speak on the Drake and Kendrick beef being a white man, and then Vlad's immediate instinct was to cancel her by talking about how he's going to get her fired from her job because of her opinion. Whether her opinion was bogus or not, Vlad should've engaged it with a discussion out loud for other people to see the exchange to make up their own minds, but he sprinted to preemptively bragging about how she's going to lose her Princeton job for sharing an opinion, dumb or not, that tilted him. The fact that the opinion was a largely lame take should've given him an easy avenue to make his case with words and ideas about it than try to harm her real life. That's the most egregious example of trying to cancel people especially if you have a big platform and following yourself.

This is true. Half the time I agree with something I just shut up. And when people comment negatively on something I say I may hit like and never comment. I just think it’s pointless to comment on comments. Like, I didn’t agree with Lord Jamar and Godfrey turning on Vlad. I just felt like if that’s your friend for real. Why you going so hard in the public eye at him? Then he was never your friend. And the police statement about Vlad never registered because what do you think other journalist do? People just don’t make sense. They will say they don’t watch the news, read articles, etc because it’s lies. But let a movie come out that supports their beliefs and they’ll be all over facebook saying the truth they don’t want you to know is hidden in this cryptic film. But call another movie a lie. And to a certain degree it’s like. When you’re a fan of an artist. You feel like you know them right. For example, Eminem. You feel like because you’re a fan of his music you can pick apart when he’s joking and being Slim Shady verse when he slides in some truth as Marshall. And maybe you’re right. maybe I’m right. Maybe I can. But I know I’m not going to get it 100% right every time. But for the sake of it. Maybe I do get it right. The end result is I was entertained. Same with Vlad and 1090 Jake. I’ve heard the same person say 1090 Jake is solid, but Vlad the Feds. I disagree. If I saw 1090 out somewhere or Vlad out there somewhere. There’s a 90% chance I won’t approach either one nor would I drop their location because people deserve their privacy. And I personally don’t want to go out of my way to salute someone I’m a fan of because what if I catch them on a bad day. Now am I no longer a fan because I had a bad encounter? Naw. I use to regret not approaching 2Pac the one time I saw him in Lenox Mall as a kid before the Quad situation. I felt like I saw a piece of what Michael Jai White talks about the real Pac. I was going down the escalator. I saw him on 10 talking to members of Thuglife. And I saw him step away from them and lean on the rail or whatever. And he was calm. And he looked at me at the same time I looked at him. I looked away. I looked back and he was still staring at me. And I looked away like dang. I saw Pac and I didn’t even attempt to speak. I was 14. I wasn’t even thinking about this may be the only time I see him. But it was a weird moment because I felt like for that split second he wasn’t the Pac on 10. He was the version Michael Jai White saw. Peaceful and just wanted a moment to himself. And who knows what he was thinking when he saw me going down the escalator. I always felt he was reflecting on something deeper. But then again. Maybe by me being a kid. Maybe I’m trippin. But that moment has always been eerie to me. Anyway.
Vlad, Rhianna and Cassie were on the same level of fame at the time of those photos (Rhirhi was far less famous at the time, Cassie was had a number 1 hit for several weeks or months. This was during rhiana’s first album and tour and single or two. Let’s be more mindful of perspective when drawing analogies, Son (Goku).

Da baby is def cancelled and no one wants to hear his music now. But it was a combo of things that caused people to get fatigue. The shootings, the videos of his baby mama, the stuff with Meg, the gay thing. Etc etc etc
