Hi there. My name is Grant and I live in Port Macquarie NSW Australia. I have just bought a Edison GEM Phonogragh Model C in Fair Condition from a garage sale. It is missing the crank handle and the horn/speaker. I know nothing about them except what I gleaned from you 2 minute video. Can you suggest where I might be able to source those parts in Australia or from your contacts or if there is a group in Australia I would appreciate any guidance from you Regards. Grant Regards. Grant
There should be an antique photograph society in Australia that you can find on Google. www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwimnKyax_yDAxXPIkQIHdrzByQQFnoECBAQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fgroups%2F905140139507160%2F&usg=AOvVaw2ofa3aHnTnqea2V7R190So&opi=89978449 Tell them what you’ve got and what you need and they will be able to help you
how to change the needle? I'm confused. Gem, model b reproducer!? I don't know how and where to put a needle in...😊.... ok, I get this thing rolling again, and where I thought the needle comes in is a glass kind of whatever.. wow, I really get a sound of this, sounds like it plays too fast, but WOW! took me only 7 hours😅
You don’t change the needle because there is not one on a gem or model B reproducer. It is a sapphire stylus and it should last forever. If you need a replacement, then you contact Wyatt Markus, 585-224-5453.
