The seats are definitely a huge upgrade from the miserable coffin like seats facing the aisle. I avoided Virgin because of them. That "lounge" looks like wasted space on the aircraft.
The height of the seating in the ‘lounge’ is a poor design concept meant to bring you more in line with the crew, whereas in reality means your legs are dangling off the floor. Not quite sure which genius signed this off ✅ 🤷🏻♂️
@@danvalentine2997 It seems they wanted something close to bar stools but that could have seatbelts. The lounges are good ideas for those 12+ hrs flights where you want to encourage passengers to walk to prevent leg blood clots plus having a space for passengers that don't want to sleep and want to chat a bit, but they need more comfortable chairs
I personally like the isle facing seats now as they have switched the direction of them so they are facing towards the windows but I do agree when they were like that they were not to nice but now they have added privacy doors which is a great touch 👍
Ive been watching a few airline review channels. I got to say out of the three I've watched you're the best current. One of the other guys was so entitled and his reviews were mainly complaining about how the stewardess weren't beckoning at his every call. He would've trashed the entire review and said it was terrible if the thought of him making his own bed was there. You paid attention and did it yourself and didnt let it affect your video at all.
Am I the only person that thinks Upper Class food looks awful, my Goodness either get a separate first class and up your game or serve it , or call your upper class , the slightly better than premium Economy class , with the same food 😮
The new A330-900's certainly do look like really good aircraft - I'd expect this London - Tampa route to be quite popular specially during peak tourist season!
Tampa is the airport with the highest potential for European airline companies among all the US. I am italian and I used to spend my vacations in Tampa bay area, I remember fully booked Lufthansa flight from TPA-FRA during summer.
It is a bit of strange combo but eh we all have our thing. "tims" are Timberlands. Considered a ghetto/street culture brand now in the US for the most part. Use to be quite different though.
@@franciscodanconia4324I could say the same living in Chicago in the mid to late 90s. They were still made in the US of high quality and made for things like snow. Somewhere in the 2000s they transitioned to a hip hop/rap status symbol.
This is a great video, thank you for sharing your views on this flight and brand. I have a deep respect for Sir Richard Branson and his business sense.
Mate, your channel and content is brilliant. You always come from a mutual aspect and literally say it how it is. I'm intrigued how you managed to get this type of job/content creation - very impressive.
@@Trek2 you're welcome. I've only just realised this is another channel of yours, so I've subscribed as I thought it was your other Trek Trendy channel. 😅 keep up the great work, buddy.
Wow, this shows how good you are at your job, when you can be included in the press. I thought this was the Trek Trendy channel until you said about it, so naturally I subscribed to this also. As usual, I enjoyed the content, you are so honest about it. Love watching your choice of menus, to see how good or not so good the food is. Keep up the great work and take care. Catch you on your next video.
If this was your first time to Tampa, welcome to the home of the Tampa Bay Rays, Lightning and Bucs! I see Richard wasn’t afraid to wear a Bucs jersey either haha
Yeah their food has never been anything special but nor is their primary competitor BA, They definitely have tried a bit too hard to be hip and cool. Great job on the lounge through.
Great video but you have gone down the USA way of adding Super in front of things for extra effect. English words such as really, very, extremely, incredibly, amazingly can be used on a sliding scale of greatness. Certainly not the super super cop out ... It's the equivalent of saying "y'know" on the end of a sentence a while back in the UK.
Honestly i get my B.A Club suites for $2800. Giving thme about $60k avios bring my price down like $375. With business all i need is a bed & aisle access. Not sitting next to no one for close to $3,000
Be nice if they put some decent aircraft out of Manchester instead of all the old A330's they have excluding the token A350 they stick on in the summer.
Nope this is the right one :) hope to share some more Business Class focused content here on Trek, whereas TrekTrendy will focus more on First Class & trains
My family and I flew from Gatwick to Tampa and it was amazing we love going back to Florida, and it was amazing considering we were meant to go two years ago
Well DL does own a majority of them so probably helped negotiate for them. And agreed classier. Delta one just feels a bit cheap and plastic. Not top notch quality materials. That was a cost saving choice.
You mean his "don't bother with Delta" vlog where he named SC in the title for clout??? 🤣 Yep. Ooh look at me, i got over 100k views...yes with false accusations... Dirty dirty dirty.
Love your vids! I have noticed that the latest videos have been all over-edited and voice over style format. I much prefer the older ones of just you speaking live as things occur. These newer ones feel like a “short”story version. Too clean, and polished and not as interesting to me. Sorry if I offend, but honest feedback. 😅
Very underwhelming. Nothing there at all that SQ, EK, QR weren’t offering in their Biz Class products 5 or even 10 years ago, and plenty missing that they DO offer. And Virgin don’t even provide a table cloth, it seems? Plus the egg-cup size glass of champagne(?) on take-off? Great review. Best that can be said for it is that if you have to cross the pond it looks marginally better than BA’s current poundshop Biz Class offering. And as Asia is no longer a core market for Virgin I suppose they don’t care much what the Middle Eastern and Asian competitors are offering.
I watch because you explain everything so clearly-but mr Trek's lack of response to comments is a bit disheartening. Just wondering why at UNDER 100k subs airlines & trains would offer him soooo many free rides w/services that total $1000's+++?
So you can't book the retreat suites at the time of booking the flights?? What sort of nonsense is that?? You're telling me that if you want these seats, you have to wait until two weeks before, allowing all other sets to be booked up in the meantime, and then HOPE you can get these at a £200 premium?? What if you can't.. You're supposed to just sit in the seats that haven't been selected?? That is the most ridiculous marketing ploy I've ever heard..
Flew upper class to Miami with Virgin. Broken seat, Luke warm food, ran out of water of all things. Asked for a snack 1.5 hours before landing, nothing left! I paid an absolute fortune for 2 seats, never, ever again!
Loving the channel. Seemingly the right amount of positivity without pandering (looking at you Sam). I’m assuming you flew into Australia for the Indian Pacific train trip? Keen to see those flights reviewed.
Welcome to Tampa. I don't get the purpose of the onboard 'loft' lounge. It seems to be less comfortable, and doesn't provide much if any additional benefits. Those seats looks rather uncomfortable (the loft, not the upper class seats)
Be interested to hear your view on BA F verses this new VS upper on this style of upper.. VS have really pushed the boat out with this new seat, however, the LOFT looks a total waste of time, unlike the QATAR business equivalent bar area. Welcome to the new channel Trek. You must have your reasons but you, Noel and AQUAHOLIC (ok I like super yachts) are my top 3 You Tubers....
Great video as always. I’m flying to London from LA next month and my original flight was a 787-7 with the old herringbone style seats. I switch to a more expensive itinerary at no additional cost that is an A350 with the nicer and new seats. Can’t wait, it’s my first business class flight.
I just booked my flight from NY to Heathrow and then afterwards I found out its their 787-9 planes they are so outdated, is there anyway i can change it into their new planes ?
I see.. it’s the same design that United used for the Polaris cabin. Although on UA the odd number rows are the more private window seats, looks like on Virgin it’s the the even rows.. looks like virgin stepped it up.
I don't like flying so I prefer your train videos but I wanted to compliment you on your slick filming/camerawork and editing - You put professionals to shame.
Yes it usually has curry in it. biriyani is the name of dish. It's basically a rice dish with vegies, often chicken and spices and curry is typically one of the spices.
