Exactly, I would much rather hear an honest opinion. I may or may not agree. That's irrelevant. I chose to watch YOUR reaction. Honesty I can always respect.
Don't let the haters kill your flow with Pentatonix. As a massive music fan and a massive Pentatonix fan who watched this series live when it was on the air I have agreed with your assessment on every video so far, including the 9th performance. I think sometimes fans forget that it's OK to be both a fan and be objective. PTX is probably my favorite group in the last 10 years, but I can admit that not everything they do is perfect. I appreciate your honest assessment, keep it up.
I think it's interesting to note that their "off" or "meh" performances all seemed to fall on weeks where they had to perform 2 songs. On those weeks, they seemed to lock in on one performance, and the other was, let's say, less impressive. In this episode, OMG was a miss (even though the judges didn't seem to have any criticism for that performance, the arrangement and execution seemed pretty messy), but they absolutely slayed on Let's Get It On.
I agree on this week, but to me, #11 and #12 the following week are equal all-time classics. (Maybe one more for arrangement -- but what an absolutely brilliant one! -- the other more for performance, but they're both A-plus.)
Someone on a tv forum I was on at the time this was broadcast pointed out that even the show’s director knew the difference between the two performances. They had to tart up OMG with all the lights and choreographed it within an inch of its life, but they knew all they had to do with LGIO was stick microphones in front of them, keep the lights simple, and let Scott go to town. I think my favorite thing, other than Mitch’s “wah-wah” opener, is that gorgeous Lydian arpeggio Scott does at the very end. Just perfect!! Edited to add: the people on that forum agreed with you-by this point in the season, it was accepted that the show was best viewed as an extended Pentatonix concert with guest appearances by other, lesser, groups. People stressed out that the only obvious contender (the Dartmouth Aires) could pull on the college alumni crowd from Dartmouth for votes, but from what I heard afterward, PTX’s vote total was overwhelming.
Hmm, I am truly sorry your commentors are rude. I don't tend to read through them all. When I mentioned the drama of the last one .....I did so in the spirit of you genuinely not knowing ...and merely as "information" again I truly hope that I am not one of the negative feedbacks you get. I have so enjoyed your ride through this and your insights it is truly interesting for me to hear from a person who is/has pursued music as more than an interest. ....I hang with engineers and mechanics (you know us square and non artistic types) and don't actually have any musicians in my circle ....so this is really interesting to me. Thank you for pushing through the negative ...I feel that more than you think really appreciate it.
Yesss! Scott in his element! “I was born with soul” 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s8_KtGzsuh8.html This was #2 for me. My #1 is coming up in week 12. Love following along
🤣 I've watched your reaction to this many, many times and you always have me cracking up each time you big-cheese smile into the camera while proceeding to rewind. You should seriously be bestowed the title of "Expression King" because your facial expressions are always the absolute best.
Once you are done with the sing off reactions you should react to superfruit reacting to their sing off performances. It's really funny to see what they themselves think of their performances
This is your channel and you just keep on giving us your honest opinion that's why it's called REACTION VIDEOS to see your honest reaction and comment's as to what you've just watched, However we are privileged to add our comments and some take full advantage, But I've always thought, if you haven't got anything nice to say it's better to say nothing at all sometimes.
Loved their performance of "Let's Get It On" - but just fyi, when you get to their performance of "Dog Days Are Over" - you're gonna lose your ever loving mind! It's beyond EPIC.
Your opinion of the song by Pentotonix was perfect. Stand by your beliefs and what it did to you. No one can judge how you feel the music. Great job brother.
WHAT??? People left the channel??? Shame on them!! They’re gonna miss seeing your pretty eyes 😁 Their Loss!!! And yes, total turn around from the last performance. This is my favorite!! My close second fav is coming 🥰
I didn't even watch the reaction to the 9th performance. I never revisit the ninth performance if I can avoid it. I don't know any backstory except that Kirstin was sick, and since I didn't watch the reaction I didn't see the comment so I have to go clue. But it is supposed to be a reaction video and if you did not like it that would be your honest reaction. I don't consider this to be the Holy Grail. But it is absolutely freaking amazing! The Holy Grail is number 12 in my humble opinion. I enjoy your reactions!
Hey let haters be haters......They will always 'hate' one thing or another! They can find a spot somewhere else to sit! This, on the other hand, is my fave of all the performances! They knocked it out of the park! Thank you for reacting! Absolutely loved it!
You may actually like this one better than the official "Holy Grail." This is the only time I was truly disappointed in the judges' reactions. They admitted that they can't do it justice but I still wanted them to! Classic song, incredible cover.
Bro ...thanks so much for your fantastic reaction!! Both their performance and your reaction were Legit Fire!! and to be perfectly honest the highlight of my day. Thanks again. Peace
This is my FAVORITE reaction of yours!!!! You are the BEST out here!!! You give the tough love when needed/necessary, but you never ever disappoint with what you say, show and share with us. My cheeks hurt from smiling!!! Love this channel!! Ok I’ll hush now 😂❤️
A little foreshadowing for the next performance. The 11th performance required the groups to take two songs and mash them together. All of the other groups essentially did a medley; singing one song and then transitioning into the next. Pentatonix is the only group that truly makes one song from the two. This lead to several other songs of similar styles appearing on their albums. Songs such as "La La Latch" and "Hey Mama / Hit the Road, Jack" are the offspring of the 11th performance. Also. the 11th and 12th performances were part of the same show. You can tell that the group saved a little bit for the final performance. I suggest reacting to them back to back to get the feel of watching them on the same night.
This was my favorite performance by them along with "Dog Days Are Over" which I think is the next performance. Great reaction and keep doing you. I don't get why people think a reactor is supposed to agree or like every single performance of any particular artist. There is always a song or performance that I don't like from my favorite artists because they are human and entitled to have their "off" days. Catch you on the next one 😊💞
i really love Pentatonix, but yes they have so much talent.. im their greatest fan.. but no one can touch the feelings of Marvin Gaye.. hes the bomb of his song.. but trust me i love them in everything else they do..
Don't sweat the people who get mad when you give a reaction they don't like. And... you weren't wrong. And I've been a fan since seeing them on the show. These were their first performances together so not every one was going to be a home run. They survived and advanced.
I don't know how much of a consolation it is, but I absolutely love your reactions. They are very raw and real. You know quite a bit about music as a whole, some of PTX's earlier arrangements were very rough and unpolished, some fault of that can be given to their age, or the fact that they barely knew each other when they embarked upon the show, or the extremely fast turn around that the show itself required but they were rough nonetheless, it shows tremendous growth from where they started to where they are now. Most, if not all, musicians strive to get better throughout time and not to stagnate in what they once were or knew. Negative comments are, unfortunately, a bi-product of posting anything on the internet, there will always be individuals that disagree with your commentary or think that they are the only opinion that matters. There will always be internet trolls out there that just strive to mess with people. Keep reacting, don't concern yourself so much with the trolls that are out there. Sometimes the comment section of your own videos is the hardest to look at because of those people and it will make you second guess why are you are reacting to a group or in general, don't let that happen! You are awesome!
I appreciate your honest reactions, and try to build through positive discourse in the comments. I was so happy to see your obvious enjoyment in this performance.... and I love your rewinds for your favourite parts. :)
Well, no one can be perfect all the time and, for what ever reason, for performance #9 the chemistry just wasn't there. And yet they come back durniing the same show and do this! I think that is the mark of true professionals. As for the negative comments for performance 9, I learned more from that than I do from reactors that just gush superlatives for whatever is done because they want subscribers and likes. Please keep up with the honest reactions.
😂🥰😂 Man, that grin kills me every time. 😍 And the growl was everything! 😏 Love the reaction! Keep doing the damn thing boo boo! Looking forward to the next one. 😉 Disgrossting! 😂😂😂
I actually agreed with your comments on 9, but i knew 10 was coming. And i knew you were gonna love it. 12 is coming yet. My all time favorite. LOL --- this one was the PTX we know and love. And to think they were only 19 at this time. craziness. (avi was a few years older but the trio was 19).
I have totally agreed with you! I won't even watch the 9th performance anymore because I wasn't feeling it at all. In this one, they are sweetly in the pocket and every time, I mean EVERY time I get the chills at how good this one is. In their "Evolution of Michael Jackson, they get to one of my all time favorites of his "Human Nature" and they just kill it in the same way they killed this one! Loved your reaction! I laughed, I cried, I bought the popcorn too! Great job!
Scott was not here for the BS on this performance. And it shows when Shawn jumps out his chair. I’m surprised he didn’t throw his shoe, cuz I would have.
In my humble opinion Video Killed The Radio Star was their break out performance. This performance though was just them flexing on the rest of the groups in the competition.
Yay! I'm so glad you went ahead and reacted to this one. This is one of many people's top 3 PTX sing off performances. It's my 2nd favorite with #12 being my favorite and "Born to be Wild" as my 3rd favorite.
This was a GREAT performance. This is NOT the "holy grail." That honor belongs to performance #12. I will agree or disagree with your assessments based on my own opinions. I will never leave a channel because I disagree with something said. Well, as long as we stay away from being nasty. It would be no fun at all if everyone had the same opinions. Boring!
DISGROSSTING!!! Scott reaches down into his soul with this and I'm here for it!😁 but I do I have to say this is my 2nd favorite performance of this show. My first is the 12th performance. Can't wait till you react to it and hear what your thoughts on it 😀
I think I agree with you, they seemed less pressured by the show and given more freedom to be themselves. I think the next season with Homefree, the show's producers did less micromanaging as well and it helped.
Don’t worry sweetheart I love watching you and I’m a 62 year old woman so you are doing good keep it going baby illl alway watch you ya don’t listen to others
Let's do remember that the reaction is to the performance...not to all the back story. Yes, it's interesting to know all that stuff after the fact but at the time, it's the actual performance that needs to be considered.
Your reactions were so fun on this one! Glad to see you enjoying it so much! It was fire! Thanks for always giving your honest reaction. #11 is a very clever mash up of 2 songs, but #12 is my fave of the season.
Awesome!! This s one of my favorites. I agree with you, I think they decided to just ignore all the pressure and do what they do best!! I love your reactions. You are real and honest. I am a huge PTX fan and understand your comments. Talk about Soul, they knock this one out of the park!!
its hard to believe this was the same episode as the 9th performance so even though that one wasn't that great and most people would agree with that this one brought it back!
They are finding themselves as artists in front of a national audience. They had never performed together before this show. I was amazed at what they were able to accomplish. Not every performance was spectacular but they were able to grind through and you got special performances like this one.
I realize you are going through the Sing Off competitions now, but when you get back to reacting to the regular vids, I would love you to listen to Home Free's version, where they do a mash up of Thinking Out Loud with Lets Get it On, hopefully while you have this performance fresh in mind.
Everyone who wants to re-live the glory of the series and have no other opinions than their own should go download it and watch it alone. Everyone who wants to see someone else experience it for the first time, and hear their opinion of it, should watch reaction videos. Sheesh! Buncha dweebs can't hear someone not agree with them. I got news for you all... Picasso's paintings were butt ugly.
@@ebonyivory2017 LOL, thank you. I just said it see who would kick their feet and throw their pacifier on the floor to argue with me. It's beyond wonderful to find those who disagree, with grace and good nature.
This performance and the 12th (Dog Days Are Over) are definitely their best. The only thing that saved them after that 9th performance was that there were two others that were even worse. So, you're not the only one who disliked OMG. As I said on that clip, even the group disliked that performance. However, everyone loves this one. I was pretty sure you would too. What you said about pressure, I agree this was more in their wheelhouse. They didn't like the first song and couldn't put their personal stamp on it. I never understood why they didn't ask to change songs the way the week they changed from a Cher song to Video Killed the Radio Star. That's what makes me think that the producers definitely wanted the drama b/c there hadn't been any with them up to that point.
Bro I'm new to your channel and let me say that your reactions make me feel like I'm watching a family member on my screen. Your definitely my family's kind of goofy and fun. Newly subscribed.
I hope you never think I am ever doing anything but having a conversation. I love hearing your reactions and as a result just like to throw my two bits in. I think you are right about how much more relaxed they seem and honestly, this seems right up Scott's alley.
Love how you stand your ground without getting defensive. Let the butthurt Trolls run away; (shoo, shoo), I, for one am Not sorry the sillies quit. Please stay real ☺
🤣🤣😍😍 I love when you get so pumped up about a part and rewind it back to watch it again! Love how into it you get, I feel the exact same way! Do that all the time with them 😁
You’re doing a great job in the reactions. Please keep going with Pentatonix because I, for one, am really enjoying this. Their ninth performance was their worst, IMO, so your reaction didn’t surprise me. But they finished strong, as you are seeing. This performance was great and their last one, Dog Days are Over, is epic. I think the response to your last reaction is because Pentaholics are very loyal and we think that PTX on their worse day is still better than almost anyone else. But you have to call it like you see it, otherwise you aren’t reacting, you’re just pandering.
This one is absolutely amazing agreed! 12 is also incredible imho. Glad you're still going with these. It's crazy that people are leaving! Some people can't handle other opinions I guess, but then what's even the point of watching a reaction video if they don't want the reaction??? Anyway, your reactions are great, it's always hilarious when you grin at the camera while rewinding a particularly good part :D
