This lesson from Pandit Ji is an asset to all classical music aspirants. I am so unlucky that didn't get a chance to learn from him. His students are extremely fortunate. On this auspicious day shat shat naman. Happy Teacher's day Guru Ji.
I had been waiting for a session like this, in which Pt Arvind Parikh would play. I'm looking forward for more sessions of Parikhji playing and also sharing his valuable knowledge.
Sir, i love music but have no formal training in music but I just started learning sitar. My first lesson was today with Nitin Sir (Vadodara). I watched all your videos, started few months back and I couldn’t stop the urge of learning sitar. The biggest surprise is that I wasn’t aware Nitin sir was your student- it feels like this meant to be. I live in US (Bay Area) and I knew my options were limited but I’m so happy to find one of your disciple as my guru. Please give me your blessings that I can become a worthy student of our gharana. 🙏 Lastly, without your videos and Sujat ji’s singing with sitar I would have never known beauty of sitar, so thank you so much for all your work in creating and sharing the knowledge. 🙏
My hats off to Arvindji for his devotion to music and teaching. A great service, indeed. As a 70 year old professor, my deep and sincere appreciation of all the effort, energy and devotion that the disciples have shown in their demos. What more can a teacher expect!
Wonderful and illuminating perspectives on alaap development, thank you Panditji! Asthai, Antara, Sanchari and Abhog explanation is very good + 3 sections of jor, + toda for vilambit gat - wow/// very few gurus can explain these challenging musical concepts!
Guruji Pranam, I feel highly blessed after watching your episodes. I have no words to show my gratitudes for you.Thank you so much for enlighting us with the power your knowledge.
My name is Iqbal Naroth Sarod player from South Africa shagrid of Ustad Amjad Ali I followed your rag behag lesson I'm battling with find the rags soul thank you punditji I now got a small glimpse of the soul
Incredible raga elaboration by Pandit Arvind Parikh. I usually follow all the Baithaks he is organising. It would be immensely helpful for the instruments players who want to learn primarily and then going for higher and higher peaks.
Dear Sir, thank you so much for open-heartedly & open-mindedly bringing our beautiful music to ardent lovers like me when the barrier to entry for classical music is mostly guarded by ego and arrogance.
Pranam Pandit ji, you have explained everything so well, it has helped me greatly to have a better understanding of raga delineation. I am sure this will now help me grow musically. Thank you so much for sharing your immense knowledge with us so generously. I watch all your baithak videos daily. They all are immensely enriching. Warm regards and charan sparsh!
Sir just stumbled upon these great masterpieces (Baithaks), the first one I watched without flinching a muscle was where you had invited Pandit Ajay Pohankar. I have listened to that almost a 100 times. The yaman bandish was out of this world. Then this one is awesome, beyond words. Would like to touch your feet one day...
The Yaman bandish (if I recall correctly), 'Mai sugam roop suhave', is a Bhendibazar gharana bandish, composed by Aman Ali Khan ‘Amar’. This has also been sung by his student Pt T D Janorikar.
This is fantastic. Thank you so much, Panditji. Within the first two minutes, I started to understand several concepts and ideas which I had been struggling to understand for years.
Thank you so much Pandit ji for this initiative, These lessons & learning will help every budding student like me to improve our craft. THANK YOU SO MUCH. God bless you with all health & Prosperity. PRANAAM 🙏
jod in any form of music is to join all aspects steps and techniques of music at a time alone by performer that includes all techniques of aalap with different tempo without tabla player is jod. in shourt jor is a combination of Aalap and different levels of tempo. i have very high love and respect for purest soul Pandiji.
The Khan Sitar has Sudha Ga. Therefore in Vilayat Khan's Sitar he could tune one of the steel drone strings to Ga. So a kind of triad chord effect. He changed the Sitar stringing arrangement.
respected sir (guruji), could you kindly explain or interview someone special who could help us learn the tuning of sitar, pulling string (i tried to pull from Ga to Pa after sometimes string broke, many times), how to maintain jawari (my sitar has now diminishing sound quality) in detail. Thank you so much.. I enjoyed and loved all the Sessions. Feels like I am having Talim. Many Many Thanks to you..
Arvindbhai, thank thank you. This is so wonderful and informative. Music lovers like us can learn so much and enjoy more. Please do some more of these types of videos. Once again thank you.
Adab Sir, I am very lucky to happened to watch you lesson. You are well known to me. I am from Pakistan. Our friend (Late), Ustad Muzafar Akber, aften discussed your highness and your skill of playing on sitar. I am highly interested in learning sitar but unfortunately, here we have no teacher and proper atmosphere in this regard. I implore your highness to help me. God will bless you, if you do so. please convey my complimets to all family and friends. please share your whatapp's
Panditji... Can you please provide 168 selected taans from Merukhand which you mentioned in other lecture... Thank you very much... Enjoy your lectures and baithak
My dear Daryush Sir, i humbly request you to listen to Pt Budhaditya Mukherjee's sitar to understand real Imdad Khani Style(of course the other VIRTUOSO is Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan Saheb)
I am sorry sir, I dont intend to insult any one, and definitely not Pt. Paarikh Saab, He is a great man , artist and human being.I have met him personally and he did show a lot of love when I told him that I was a disciple of Pt Bimalendu Mukherjee. But i must say that you agree that there is always some kind of rivalry or bias between artists of same gharanas, that "my style is more authentic than your style" type, so, if one is not any Khan sahib's disciple, there is some sort of unintended bias.Thats my point. If I hurt anyone's feelings I APOLOGISE. Kindy forgive me
@@pt.arvindparikh That would be great, I'm in south NJ, I will travel to north Jersey, I prefer in my area, I'm 30 miles from Atlantic City NJ, 2 strings broke, one we replaced, but, one of the sympathetic strings broke ! I want it turned to D, but it's in C
The Great Chain: I am sorry- we could help if you were in Mumbai. However, you could contact our student Abhik Muckerji at +1 (608) 738-9661 in New York.
In music there should not be any rivalry, all artists are unique, irrespective of whether they learnt from Khan saheb Ust. Vilayat Khan or Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee, who also was the shagird of Ustad Enayet Khan Saheb, Thats my idea of OPEN MIND
1)The joint of the tumba with main dand (fret board) gets a extra weight, making the sitar sound more rounded. ( this is a personal opinion) 2) with upper tumba, the sitar does not roll away 3) It looks picturesque.
Respected Panditji, may I re3quest you to kindly invite some other ARTISTS like PT BUDHADITYA MUKHERJEE, AND SOME OF HIS STUDENTS LIKE ANUPAMA BHAGAWAT, RAJEEV JANARDAN,, AVANINDRA SHEOLIKAR( nephew of AJAY POHANKAR) KAMALA SHANKAR(GUITAR) RAAJRUPA CHOUDHARY(SAROD also student of Pt Sanjoy Bandopadhyaya & Joydeep ghosh), SO THAT THE AUTHENTIC IMDAD KHAN GHARANA VILAYAT KHANI GHARANA IS DEMONSTRATED. REGARDS.
srinivas pai Rajiv Janardan is our Ganda Bandh Shagird since couple of years. With your other coments , meet me persally when you are in Mumbai when I will clarify several of your comments
