Rag Darbari is a very serious & Ghana raga , slow and elaborate meend and andolan are generally more preferred than light and frivolous ornamentations . The improvisation of Darbari is done more in the mandra saptak, or lower octave. The ascension of arohana is in the lower and middle octaves. ustad Rafique Khan has played it in a traditional style alap and jod alap then vilambit gat is in Teental ( 16 beats) and after that he has played two more compositions in Drut ek Taal (12 Beats) and Drut Teen taal (16 Beats)
