StangMode Awesome Video I think it's awesome that you got Papa Smurf to run 12.0 at Ceci County Dragway and I can't wait to see how much better he can get
Plus removing carbon traps (emissions equipment), weight reduction. Stock for stock, last gen is a better performer. I wonder since he is all intensive purposes a Ford employee, if he gets benefits. This guy is so biased. I am sure if ford told him he needs to pump up the mach e gt, he would. He will do anything to keep his channel going. What ashame. I love mustangs, but I can call out duds when I see them. The 24 mustang is a dud.
Blows my mind that my stock 01 C5Z06 ran 12.20@115 22 years ago! Lol I expected a little more from this car. At least to be quicker than the gen 3 cars.
That’s around when cars started really running, I still have my brothers blk. ‘02 ram air WS6 ttop 6spd hurst short throw shifter w/34xxx on the dash! 🙏
@@AB-coyote let’s not mention it’s a stick car with 22 year older tech? And only made 385hp? The mustang should be quicker not slower than the gen before it.
When you were showing us the slip at 4:25 I saw that the dash had a warning code showing. I was wondering if that was from removing the carbon traps, or from the removed passanger sest. Or was that just from the passanger door being open? Also I wonder how the car would run in sport plus vs drag mode?
Way to go, StangMode! 12.0 is an eyelash away from hitting 11s. Thanks for the info, which is going to be helpful to a lot of new Mustang GT owners. Once again, the 5.0 shows that even with the smallest and fewest mods, it reacts strongly!
Folks welcome to the 95-99 cobra years. Ford does this when there’s no competition from the other domestic automakers. The GT and Dark horse are giant DUDS!!!
You are so correct,When there's competition between the different automakers is wen we see the best and fastest cars, once someone stands alone ,there's no reason for them to go that extra .23/24 is the end of that glorious Era we just witnessed.
Uhh what are you talking about dark horse had shorter stopping distance than a GT2RS and Viper ACR on motor trend tests did 0-60 3.7 seconds quicker than supercharged boat anchor fat cats… going to be quickest 5.0 to date. Calling a car that just came out y even been tested enough to make conclusions is dumb af
There not really Duds per say, if tier 3 emissions wasn’t the current standards I’d completely agree they did the bare minimum but tier 3 emissions fucking suck and boy you can tell that stock tune, including the trans tuning is god awful. These cars will pick up big time power and speed with proper tuning. My big problem with them is the sky high prices for at best similar performance to the gen 3s, they really needed to either use more aluminum to drop some weight, better rear engine gearing “across the board” or just give it another 15-20hp to offset the weight. But you’re right it’s a good comparison to the 94-95 mustang gt and cobras, they where wash years
Running the same times I ran in my bone stock 2023 Nissan Z. I personally don’t expect much from this in a factory setting. I know it has a ton of potential waiting to be unlocked.
@@jobothehobotv I go to the track often. I just don’t talk to talk. I’ve been around this platform for a while and know how to drive this thing. I’ve gone 12.41 on the street and went 12.00 at the track with a tire. 11.07 on a 93 tune and tire. I have a couple buddies that run below/mid second 10’s FBO and 1 guy ran a 10.6 e30 tune and tire with a stock fuel system a couple days ago. I’m putting turbos on mine as we speak and plan to run a 9 sec pass. Believe those “car reviewers” who had the car for 1 week if you want or watch a real owner really push the car. ✌🏽
@@chipwright9356 I agree I have a 2000 gt full bolt ons 330 hp crank and 410 gears and only run 14 sec average . I have ran a 13.9 few times can’t get out of the 13.9 bracket. And I’ve done everything except blower
Get some light weight wheels. You can probably save close to 40lbs with those. Will be doing that after winter for my summer tires. Keep the stock for winter
That's tough. By this time next year, my 18 Blk on Blk Performance Pack 1 with a mild tune and 503 hp will be worth 70k... Keep up the 12's.. Love you though fam! Oh...Mine ran a 12.026 before the tune @ 118.9 with all seats, no octane booster, and some cheap ass all weather tires. Reply for the name..n I'll go bnb outside n see, they're that cheap..but rated up to 186, which I don't trust.
Very disappointed with the 2024's. They can't be tuned unless its by a ford affiliate for and they are so heavy that they are slower even though they have moire power. Ford should have done better job
Great stuff Stang. I would be curious to see what difference it makes if you put a Jockey 🏇 in there as a driver. I am a big boy too. Just curious how much quicker it would be if you put a 100 lb driver in it.
Yeah an additional 30to40 horsepower that didn't come from factory it is bit heavy but shifting your own gears with that tremec 6speed you won't hath to worry about the computer short shifting
the 1994 ford thunderbird i have, has been braking the 8.8 differential axles... i got a shortened 3.73 AAM1150 Chrysler axle to replace the 8.8irs... just looks like 17'' rims, trimmed and fits like OEM.
Something is definitely up with that tune off of the line. It seems to bog down. That 60ft with those tires and power should be no more than a 1.7 flat. I left my car at the dealer. Hopefully a lot of people do the same so Ford can give up on this bull**** with this car being locked out.
❤😮😊 that’s pretty damn good for stock for 20 for stang that’s really good hey bro, I know you could get down to 11 or 10 or nine like you did with your others the Hulk mania
It's funny that people thought this car was going to run 10's or something, lol. It basically last years car with a JLT intake level airflow. 2024 is hitting the JLT intake numbers stock, factoring the dual plenum airflow advantage. Modifications will reveal the true potential.
Good gains you will hit under twelve next time this makes me think about the journey with mamba the beginning stages before you went full dragmode with it
S650 owners better hope these things respond amazingly to tuning. They're in $50(if at msrp..) to almost $70k+ for a un-tunable GT. We'll see how much the carb legal Whipple goes for on top of that $50-70k. Let the youtubers be the guinea pigs, save your $ and wait😂
@StangMode what we'd love to see is you actually race your 18 GT win or lose.....I understand you have to keep up with the Ford hot topic, but come on man. No Momba, no Hulk for two s650's🤔
If you have a s550 keep it, if not try to find the last ones on the lot or buy used and keep it. The new mustang is a disappointment. Oh, and the car will snitch on you to ford. It sends alerts to ford when anything is wrong, and sends info on what the car was doing when the check engine light came on. Stangmode will not be truthful. He just pushes the new mustang. He is a salesman for Ford
The Gen 3’s will. It seems these Gen 4’s don’t have the torque the previous 5.0’s did down low to get out of the hole. We will see once these things start getting tuned if bottom end torque increases, or even if a bump in launch RPM will do the trick.
12.0 is a fast street car no matter how you look at it the average person is not qualified to drive it that’s why there’s so many wrecked ones at auction
It’s still a nice ride. Seems to be a lot of negativity about the S650. Okay it’s not as fast as S550 out of the box. It’s a dam street car, so who cares. Doesn’t make it a bad Mustang.
I've seen a couple 10R80 8:52 Mach Ones at my local NHRA dragstrip bracket racing in street stock. Since i run the same class I recall their dial-in times being in the low to mid 12 seconds because I run low 12s by tapping my brake at the finish line to keep from Breaking out. I don't recall mph but remember the dial in. I looked up some 1/4 mile test for the Mach 1. This one is from Edmunds. The other Car & Driver. Edmunds. At our test track, the Mach 1 knocked off 60 mph in 4.1 seconds (3.8 seconds if you use 1 foot of rollout, which some other publications do) and pulverized the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 113.1 mph Car & Driver. We got the chance to run the Mach 1 through our instrumented testing. It reached 60 mph in 4.3 seconds on its way to a 12.6-second quarter mile at 115 mph. Unless you pulled weight or modded your Mach 1 with headers, exhaust or a Lund E85 tune along with being excellent at shifting a 6 speed on every pass including launches. Both the Mach 1 and S650 are for now fairly equal until tuners figure our the new Gen 4 Coyote or the owner adds a Whipple Supercharger on either car I'm a big fan of the Mach 1 but Running a 12 second 1/4 Quarter mile in a new S650 Mustang is also impressive. I don't understand Mustang owners. I thought it was a society of owners working together. I was completely wrong
@@DWH300 why specifically lund? Also, did you just reply to show how technical and how "actually" you could be or what dude? Literally no one asked. No one.
My stock scat did 11.65 @117 with just a tire. I thought with the extra power these cars would be close to that time. I’m sure with time people will get closer.
Not to hate or anything but the time was a little disappointing in my opinion. I thought I would’ve gotten at least high 11s to mid 11s. Welp we still go work to do then! 💪🏾
12k just for parts. How much for labor and cost of shipping. Supercharger including labor would be 12k. Thdt would be lot faster than the current gen. Stangmode is just a advertiser for Ford.
Good video and the smirff looks great. The new body is growing on me. Dude your 60 time is slow. Are you running the engine up on the lights because I didn’t hear the engine. I sit at my table and my foot is responding faster than your foot. Shoot for an average 1.4 60’ as opposed to a 1.9!!!! You would have been in the 11s!!! Thanks for the video StangMode!!! The Mustang week videos were very good!!! Cheers!!!👍💪😎🇺🇸✝️
Cuz those cars way too much guys I thought of that before already eliminating way off that thing you watch that thing fly then same with those Camaros two they weigh a ton more than a ton and you're right those Mustang should be doing 11s off the factory
Funny how his stock 2018 ran 11.9@119 bone stock and NOBODY can even come close in a 24 mustang bin stock. So sure.. go ahead and pay all that money for a slower car
I like the s650, the dash is hideous and thoughtless. They put absolutely no effort in integration or styling. They could’ve made it flow seamlessly instead it looks like a tablet propped up on a coffee table. Other than that I dig it. The price is completely outrageous as well. You can get a clean pp1 s550 and walk this 650 all day long for $20,000 cheaper
Yep,same here, 3tenths quicker in dragmode, and always goes to 7500 RPM .. 12.0 is good but my daily driver gets 12.3@116 on street tires 2.3 60 foot, not a big Power difference with a 650 it seems...LMR I believe it was ... literally had no difference on the dyno with the carbon traps out.... the best content as usual.. the other douchebag RU-vidrs that don't even have these cars and RU-vid from their spare bedrooms have more content to cry about now😭
@scarface9617 yes, drag mode on my car is definitely worth about three tents and 3 mph because it ships at 7400 .. daily driver is a 21 GT premium 10 speed 3:55 gears with 20 inch wheels
@scarface9617 no idea, didn't have a dragy ... I love the car nicest one I've ever had I'm just not buying this thing call the Dark Horse for that kind of money it's going to be a Corvette next.
Put the seat back in, it's not a racecar 🤦♂️ As lazy as it takes off I wonder if you could put the stock, shorter, tires on and still not spin? Also, do these newer ones not have select shift or anyway to shift it yourself?
