Spike Razzor He is right though. The torque is noticeably larger at a lower engine speed than the power. Increasing the speed of the engine will not lead to an increase in torque..much the opposite, as the piston velocity is actually _inversely_ proportional. This means that the higher the operating speed of the engine, the lower the output torque will be. This is sometimes a difficult concept to come across, but it is one of the main reasons we quote torque _and_ power figures when describing an engine - they are distinctly different from each other. Increasing the RPM limit of an engine will most definitely cause an increase in power, as would increasing its torque, as “horsepower” is simply a function of torque and engine RPM. Torque itself ( τ ) is just a product of force ( F ) and distance ( d ). Similar to moments, it is a force which will tend to cause rotation. Increasing either one of those variables has a proportionate effect on the torque. For example, increasing the stroke of an engine (i.e. the distance between the cylinder head and crank shaft connection) will cause an increase in the torque characteristics. Similarly, increasing the rate of combustion or changing the volume of fuel injected will cause a more explosive reaction and therefor a greater force. So technically, yes you can increase the torque of an engine, but it is much more difficult to achieve than simply increasing the horsepower as it usually involves some dramatic changes to the internals.

So basically, if the car is light enough, you can use the bike's transmission. The gear faces in them are very small compared to the gears in a car, so you have a ton of load going into a very small area.

The biggest problem with these swaps is the clutch, the car has to be as light as possible or the clutch won't last a week

This car weights not much more stock. Lighter engine + gearbox, fiberglass body, zero interior, plexiglass windows. Thats how.

There are also older mini coopers with around 450 kg of weight. Im not joking.
