The Remington 11-87 is one my favorite gas operated semi-automatics. We look at and talk through the benefits of the 11-87 Compact 20 gauge for smaller sized individuals. Stay tuned for the next shooting review of this gun!
I've had my 11-87 for 40 years, it was one of my first guns. I'm going to pull it out, order the sport stock and shorten the barrel a little bit and put it back in service as a home defender. Thanks for the video review!
I bought one for my wife today for clay shooting. My Beretta A300 12 gauge is too much for her. I am 6'2 and think the compact will be hard for me to mount and shoot properly, but it feels like a good quality shotgun.
Mr. Wishe what is the age of that shotgun? If fairly new have you encountered the Ceberus QC issues that have been mentioned many times over the internet? Has Remington improved their QC in your experience??
How reliable is it? Another advantage of a compact stock is for a larger person wearing LBE or a thick jacket it could make the shotgun feel a lot closer to them
I liked the looks and features of this, especially as it's in 20 gauge, my favorite shot shell size. BUT, at around the $800.00CAD that's a tad steep, when there are so many others out there to choose from,...for less money.
+Guns, Gear & On Target Training, LLC Ah yes, but you see, you have subscribers like me who live in Canada, and that price I mentioned above was at Cabela's ( actually $829.99 ) So maybe I should have spelled out that I'm in Canada. So we get 'nailed' by this ridiculous Canada-U.S. dollar exchange and duty etcetera. So much for 'FREE' trade !
I just bought an 11-87 sportsman youth. does anyone know if it has a rifled or smooth barrel? it has a ribbed barrel so it's the field version, I think that's the only version it's offered it. Anyway, I want to know so I know what type of slugs i can shoot out of it. also, can I get a 28" barrel to replace the shorter one it came with for clays and bird hunting?
Unless otherwise specified most of these, with the smooth barrel. They’re not rifled. This means you can shoot both shot and slugs through it. Thanks for watching and commenting I hope you will subscribe to the channel.
I have had this same shotgun for probably 15 years. It has performed flawlessly for me. Also, for home defense, you can purchase a magazine tube extension (for 870, also fits this) and add more rounds to the magazine tube. Billy Birdzell did a great ammo test with James Yeager and it is a video series worth watching. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mbEZRLUBfI0.html
Hey!! I'm a fan.with a question?? What barrel length is best for the 20gauge ?? Back when the 1100s I used 28: inch . I have a new 20ga semi. Auto I bought it with a 28inch. I started having trouble so I send it to the company. They have sent me a new one with a shorter barrel??!!! The other was 26. The new one has a 23.75 the question is the best performance barrel. I do know that if it was to long you lose FPS what is the correct length for ducks 🦆 one RU-vidr said after 25 inches is the limit any more length I would just lose mv. Thanks for the help.
I bought one and swapped the 4+1/20" for a 5+1/18.5" setup. A rifle butt cuff holds 9 extra .410 shells. Remington 2.5" 4 pellet 000buck will do a number on a bad guy.
Because I have a Bad Back with Nerve Issues, I Know I Can't Handle a Pump Shotgun or a 12 Gauge !!! I Have Wanted a Auto-Loading 20 Gauge for Quite Some Time !!! I also can't afford a Benelli !!!
So I'm 18, live in PA & wanted to know if I can purchase a handgun from a licensed carrier and if so is there any paperwork necessary? I ALREADY KNOW THAT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY THE WEAPON AROUND AS IF I HAD A LICENSE
20 ga. Will do what ever the 12ga. I'm almost 70 and have used a 20 most of my life. Took my first deer with it one shot and down he went. When I here people say you need a 12 I just chuckle.
Bought this exact shotgun. Its a single shot with target loads. Will not cycle.Remington told me this gun is not designed to shoot target loads and that I have to shoot hi brass?
@@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC Thanks for responding.Remingtons probably lying. When I first got it it took a lot of force to cock it.Its a lemon and Rem. Being decietful.
