I strongly considered a 20-gauge for 3-gun but eventually chose a 12 gauge because I found finding magazine tube extensions VERY difficult. I was considering the SA-20 by Mossberg and the M3020 from Stoeger. I ended up with the 930 JM Pro from Mossberg and have been happy with my decision. I made a video about opening the loading port that will go live on my channel on the 11/14/15, so keep your eye out for that! Also, I load the same way you demonstrate, albeit with my weak hand. It may not be the fastest, but I can see what I'm doing and I'm comfortable with it. Your channel is my favorite on RU-vid, no joke, because your content is clear, concise, and accurate. Those 2 extra rounds in the tube make all the difference. Here in the UK on a Shot Gun Certificate we can only have guns with 1+2. To have more rounds you have to have a Fire Arms Certificate and compete in either practical or target shotgun. Of course you are not allowed a gun for "social work"....................
I'm so dissatisfied with my Remington 20ga when purchased it came with a weaver rail ready for a scope. I have never been able to hit paper consistently. One round in five on paper. (50 yards) Nothing on paper at a hundred yards Started out with lead slugs nothing. Switched to sabots still nothing. Ugh Can anyone advise me as to what is going wrong.
Thanks for commenting. In general, I'm looking for slugs to give be a decent 3-5 shot group (upper chest area of humanoid target) at 50 but not so much at 100 yards. A few questions... How big is the target? Have you tried sighting it at 25 yards? Where do slugs hit and what's the group like there? Are you shooting off handed or from a bench rest? Have others tried it and gotten the same results? If you've tried all the above, then contact Remington CS and send it back to them. Maybe the barrel is defective.
A lot of professionals , internet forums, FAQs seem to recommend No1 or 4 buck for SD/HD. I have never encountered this in my local area at all and would have to get it online. Are these rounds more common in hunting towns/counties? I usually stick with regular OO buck due to availability. Mostly LEO loads and stuff from the big box stores.
I'd start with a new mag spring. I replaced them in a couple of shotguns that were having feeding issues and that fixed them. I'd also call Remington and see what they say.
You probably already know this too and it looks like you figured it out...you have to make sure your barrel seal actavator and O ring is good and piston piston seal... make sure you clean the shit out of those gas ports in the barrel... don’t use the barrel seal activator when you shoot 3” mag shells...
