Skins are often bought to show to other people so adding a setting to disable them would make them buy less skins and cost RIOT money. It could be a good idea but I’d rather they fix all the broken skins and make the animations equally smooth across the board.
@Baxi Tabaxi I think you may have replied to the wrong comment. Some skins in LoL have visuals that are extremely difficult to see, to the point where RIOT banned their use in competitive play. Other skins have smoother animations, making those skins significantly better to play with. Both of these give you an advantage, no matter how small, for paying RIOT money. That is Pay-to-Win.
There's only a couple situations where using your E while being chased is useful. Buying time for an ult, zhonya's, etc to wear off or yours to come up. Prepping a 3rd Q for when you return (Yone buffers any spell you input just before your E ends so 3rd q comes out instantly). And finally, your team is coming to save you.
@Baxi Tabaxi there's no really reason to disable the skin people paid for it unless you're playing in pro where some skins are disable like the yellow shen skin (forgot the name) where his ult is barely noticeable
i think with the banned skins in pro play, its different, but also, it would probably cause more strain on the client bc from what it looks like when you steal ults as sylas you use the same animation which most likely means that the match only has the bare minimum animations needed and doesn't even bother loading in the base skin animations, so if people were to have an option to disable skins then it would not only have to load the skins on an individual basis but also the animations which might screw with ping
QOTD: Having an option to get rid of skins in game is kinda against what skins can be about... I feel like people will pay less for skins if opponents can't even see them. Like I love my skins for myself because I like how they look, but Ultimate or limited skins are fun to flex and if you know everyone else playing can turn off the skin, why would you pay to get it?
@Baxi Tabaxi so your trying to make a point that there are no real advantage in using any game cosmetics such as skins, well I know what you mean. My only point is that players only use skins to envision their character in a different fantasy rather than the default. In short we just use skins to make our game prettier.

Spirit blossom yasuo's tornado sound indicator is so loud that it's impossible to not notice it, whereas with some other skins like nightbringer you can sometimes get it without the enemy noticing
@Baxi Tabaxi I agree, there’s slight advantages on some, but definitely nothing serious, I’ve been caught by that spirit blossom yasuo a few times, but it didn’t feel like big pay to win
@@lanternno8491 isnt it for both?I still think most people buy to flex and even u feed u can feed with style (loll). If others cant see it what is the meaning of it.
@@phantomsixthman869 > if others can't see it what's the meaning of it So you see it?.. why the fuck should everyone be forced to interpret the garbage that Riot dumps onto champs to make them look completely unrecognizable?
QOTD:I think riot shouldn't put a disable setting on skins since that is their main way of monetization and that would completely ruin the point of buying skins because there would be no point of buying a skin when you can just download mod skins instead of actually paying for skins
LoL? They mean you can put in that you disable skins for everybody(And you personally dont see any skins) not like somebody toggles it and you cant see your own skins, also mod skins illegal and can get you banned
@@milkaexqzme6307 moded skins are absolutely legal... I play league around 3 years on 15 accounts and use Lol skin pro in every single game, never got banned :D
QOTD: They shouldn't. Skins are reason why Riot have money and why players are happy to play their (main) champs. Also I am surprised that there are not skins that helps you play better. Muay Thai Lee is great example of skin ,that actually help you a lot.
Uhh. I wouldn't ever tell people to use the no skin option. I could see it causeing a lot of issues between spell cast for the player who disabled skins. If you see a skin that you know you have a hard time with just turn on the color blind mode. As I am one of the unlucky people who has a hard time seeing colors as is It really makes them stand out and people who are not color blind could really abuse the setting if they are struggling.
QOTD: I think there should at least be an option to disable all skins that are banned from turnament play. At least in ranked. I think there is no resaon to force people to play against skins that they themselfs admit to be an unfair advantage and therefore pay to win. Also I don't think it would mean that they would make a huge loss in income. Emotes are also possible to disable and I think people still buy them.
I have personally never bought an emote and I've spent hundreds of dollars on League. I just see them as a complete waste of money, I still have tons from loot drops though.
I agree with this since it will be a little quality of life benefit for those who are trying to grind, regardless of what rank the person is. Also, since this is an idea of disabling a skin(s) they can make it specific skin will be disabled for the player's screen and not from the other ones. This will not hit Riot's income hard that they will lose tons of money and player base., since we have tons of players around the world, who collect skins, buy the skin for their favorite champion(s), who plays league casually. But in the end it still an idea that can be considered. In my opinion, it is neither a good nor bad idea if Riot eventually adds this system.
I think it would make some lobbys more cleaner, if you could disable skins. Most skins come with unique effects, that can get rather messy in a Team fight. I noticed, i have it easier in games to keep track of enemies abilities when there are people with fewer skins in the lobby. Once there are to many skins, even more the Ones that changes effects or add extra particles, it gets much harder to track a team fight. To be Honest most team fights are a visiual mess, but it does not help if extra flashy particles are mixed inside.
Not everyone goes to skin spotilght to see a champs new skin, neither the client has features to fully display the skin on store/inventory. If they allow us to disable skins I am sure it would take a hit on their sales in the long run.
@@walkingchopsticks6731 Bro the real question is, how you can get slowed or stunned by ekko's w in lane phase? I mean it's a fucking slow skill, mainly used to escape ganks..
@@LuisSoto-fw3if Did you realize I said "Lane phase" in lane phase it's hard to GET stunned from Ekko's W, but it's significantly easier to get stunned in a team fight on the late game
QOTD: Depends. Riot already has an issue with bugs and adding a setting to turn off skins might be an option in settings before the game, but I can see it screwing things up for the first couple weeks or months.
QOTD: I mean this is riots main source of money and i think they could never do that, but i think a setting to "ignore" (like we already know the mute pings etc.) speciffic skin wouldnt hurt anyone.
QotD: I don't play in an elo where turning a charm into a semi-stun or characters having a different colour scheme matters. With or without the toggle, I and my teammates will still run it down, people will still hit their yasuo 0/10 powerspikes, and everyone will int regardless.
QOTD: They should do it but maybe only in ranked or past certain ranks because it you disable them everywhere else they probably wouldn't get so much money.
@Baxi Tabaxi There is a list of banned skins in pro play for the exact reason that they give an unfair advantage, the justicar skins and black frost anivia from this list for example. Saying no pro player has lost to a skin is probably right, because they don’t allow the skins that give any advantage be used.
QOTD: I think for the sake of competitive integrity it would be a good idea to have it as an option, but the only way riot would even possibly be on board with such a thing is if usage of the option was limited to ranked matches and custom games, since their entire revenue model relies on skin sales
I'm ok with the 'MASSIVE' thing thrown around for every buff/nerf meme, but when you start going with the clickbait title even on stuff like this I sincerely reconsider why am I even a sub. Don't go down this route please, I don't think you need it.
I purchased Anivia to abuse the meta and upgraded my Blackfrost Anivia shard because it looked cool. I was chilling, farming pretty well in normal games but I wanted to improve this. So I went into practice tool, accidentally using the regular skin. Last hits felt really hard, I wouldn't say Blackfrost is a P2W skin, but the auto attack is definitely different. Very sus riot
Dawn bringer riven is by far the most ptw, she’s all about animation cancels while the skin makes it smooth af, it just makes riven so much better to play it’s not even fair
I dont think we need a setting to turn off skins, but skins that give advantages or just completely have their hit boxes off shouldnt be allowed in ranked, as a blitz player *cough cough* Iblitz
QOTD: Maybe not the skin itself, but the skin's ability effects. If there was an option, to turn all skin's abilities to the classic abilities, that would be fine.
@Baxi Tabaxi you must be really sad to be offensive to someone who just gave his opinion.. He didn't even say that he finds it unfair or whatever shit you imagine. Atleast write in a polite way and not "this is bs", "debunked shit" etc. There are skins banned from proplay for exactly that reason. It doesn't mind in silver or gold elo, but in higher elo games and competitive matches small differences in the skins can be fatal. So please just stop spreading your agenda when you don't even have shit to proof your "debunked bs". Have another sad day fratello 👌
QOTD: As much as I would love a setting like that, riot can hardly get the client to function right most of the time. I doubt they could manage a setting like that.

*The had a chance to remake those skins, so they would appear in competitive and playing against won't b a problem, but since it was made to be p2w they won't, the best we can do is to ask the disable skin effects or just buy those skins and enjoy free wins*
QOTD: Not at all. Part of the fun in league of legends is showing off your main champion's pretty skins to everyone in the match. It also wouldn't make sense from Riot's business perspective, since many people will see skins in game and become interested in them, which can lead to more people buying skins especially if they are on sale.
@@hjuns what i mean aboyt cost money is skin option being disabled means less sales. People will less likely to buy skins then. Less sales = lower income Lower income = the company will fall
@@GrassToucher24c riot is greedy as hell so they won't do it anyways. But I think having the option to disable skins for your own comfort is a great idea. And people who buy skins to show off have inferiority complexes anyways 😂👌
*Disabling skins is a NONO because some champions i only play for their skin identity otherwise i dont enjoy them or cant feel the character* . Cosmic lux is also one of the broken skins too. Her Q might be obvious but most of her skills in her kit is very quiet. Good at catching your enemies off guard

@Baxi TabaxiFirst of all skin do matter. Second: I'd like to disable them anyway. Some are just annoying af. I hate seeing starguardian Ahri or Seraphines KDA allout skin
QOTD: I think that if they added a feature you should be able to choose which. Maybe as an option in the skins tab they could add a button to disable the skin? I like the skins in this game but sometimes i just dont feel like seeing a select few *cough* spirit blossom yasuo *cough*
6:35 niche but still broken?!?! literally no one issues that shadow mechanic on zed with that skin. you should talked about how smooth the skin is and it’s animations instead of giving other people the wrong idea
@Baxi Tabaxi Pff. its enterly the opposite. IT has been proven that these skins give you advantages, even when it is just a small one (Riot even bans some thier own skins in tournaments because of it). Maybe in other Games it is different with skins, but it is clear in LoL. You also ranted about, that there are no "OP" champs in the Game, when it was clearly proven mutiple times that so many champs were litterly so broken and op that Riot needed to take mutiple things away from thier kitt to balance it out. So yeah there are OP champs and even more champs were you need only a little skill to be good. Mostly new Champs suffer under the Broken status, or because Riot tried to change a Champ to another Role and failed and instead gave them a rather to good kitt. You clearly do not seem to play the Game or never were on the PBE version of it were you can clearly see the Champs, and how they were designed and still came out broken in one way or another. YOU clearly are a troll who laughs behind a screen, or a miss informed kid, who tries to look cool by calling out something as fake wich has actually been a problem for the Game longer then you can think. If you say fake news, then try the Kata skin, the Sona skin. All of it is real and a thing Riot is mostly to lazy to fix it, since they are litterly swimming in spaghetti code.
@Baxi Tabaxi Tyler1,tflbade and many other players who are challenger or alteast grandmaster complained about weak/strong roles and weak/strong champions so they do infact exist, You're most likely a silver/Gold players so you shouldn't really talk about low elo as you're low elo yourself, There are even LCS players who complain about balance so stfu...

@@darkblossum4379 Good I hope so. Like bronzies think a skin can help them get to challanger 😂😂
@ Skins will never help you climb, but some can give you a minor advantage to others. They will never help you climb the ladder. The only Thing that can make it easy, is to play a champ that currently is too strong. Be it because of a update that gave him a overloaded kit or be it Items that got changed and gave really good advantages to certain champs. Skins with certain "Bugs" in them will only help a little in really narrow situations. (Like giving cc immunity if you use a certain emote).
I don't think skins should be disabled, only fixed if they are giving a player an advantage. Like, syndra got some visual effects that make her skills easier to see. I like everyone to see my skins. That's why I bought them. They are cute. Skins should be seen. But if they're giving a player a game breaking advantage (like syndra's old visual effects, or sona being able to not be charmed) it is unfair.
Passive : Storm Dragon Lee also hypnotizes you with it's awesome animations, stunning the enemy for 1.5s when abilities are displayed in front of them.
@Baxi Tabaxi Like my little brother, you've been spending too much time in front of the computer and you forgot how it is to communicate with humans. This is called "irony". Get a life, minor. RU-vid hating is bad for your soul.
QOTD: i think all video games should have an option to turn skins off, especially since some people might have a learning disability or any kind of mental issue that might make it harder to play the game for them.
I dont think Skins make a champ over op or something like that but I do agree that there are some skins which can confuse players with its completely different skill color and Animation, it gives a slight upper hand to the skin users. Ya it is Unfair for some players.
@Baxi Tabaxi exploiting specific emotes that allow u to do things that normally u couldn't or shouldn't be able to do like with the Battle Queen Katarina example, if true she can avoid being knocked by a blast cone which shouldn't happen if you're in the radius
and now in the current patch elementalist lux basic attacks become completely silent sometimes. She could hit you with her passive without hearing a thing.
Disabling skins is a horrible idea. If what you mean is to you all skins will be swapped with defaults that completely defeats the point of skins: To show off. They should just rebalance skins to avoid giving any advantages gameplay wise.
Absolutely you should have the option to disable Skins on your own end, it's bullshit to basically have to learn what some Skins look like in game for some champs. If you can't instantly see who your opponent is because you never saw that skin you can quickly lose a game within the first few minutes because you got caught off guard by a suddenly Rainbow colored Morgana Bind (I know there isn't such a skin in the game but it brings home the point). I for example don't have Skins for my 2 most played champs and will most likely never buy skins for them as to not disturb what I am gotten used to and the same goes for enemy abilities, you should be able to get used to what a champs abilities look like.
Bonus: Masked Shaco, normaly if you got a keen eye you can see the smoke animation that shaco makes , that is a orange/red colour, with this skin is a withe smoke , you can barely notice it
QOTD: no. They should do everything to take away the gameplay advantages that some skins have, but having a skin and being able to flex it is what drives people to buy them, and generates revenue for Riot Games. I personally won't buy Infernal Nasus if I can't do the boom speakers Drop It Like It's Hot dance to disrespect the opponents.
Spirit blossom Yasuo’s tornado is way smaller than it really is and high noon Yasuo’s tornado dissapears way earlier than it actually does, fix Yasuo skins rito pls
an option to disable skins would be great in ranked, but I'd better appreciate an option to force original spell effects and animations on all skins. That way the model can still look different across the skins, but the animations and particles will stay consistant.
I would be annoyed if I spend money on cosmetics to be like "hey, I like this skin. Isnt it cool" but then someone can just turn everything off kinda kills the meaning
QOTD: God YES! getting friends into league has failed multiple times due to them having no chance of recognicing all the champions even if skins wasnt a thing.
QotD: No. Skins are part of what make Runeterra an immersive world, aside from champions themselves. I actually really like how there are different storylines in skins that aren't present in champions themselves, such as Star Guardians, PsyOps, PROJECT, and Mecha Kingdoms
Eternum Cassiopeia skin is also a pay2win because you can hear her Q spell hit without having vision on the ennemies. That's also very efficient when you want to know if there is an ennemy in the bush or check monsters camp.
You can add aurelion dragon skin, idk the name but the skin make his stun almost invisible. His stun has no colour like galaxy, but only light blue colour electricity.
@Baxi Tabaxi wat, I just don't want to see them, what's wrong with that, you don't need to get mad when you didn't even know my reason to not wanting to see skins, that would make skins useless and the toxic people wouldn't be able to flex on me
Blood moon yasuo is also P2W Because the indicator for when his nado is available blends in so well with his entire body because it's a dark red or black and red
I think the best setting idea would be to either allow skins, disable skin animations or completely disable skins so you can choose. I think it would be the best solution to choose between those 3 opportunities
