I have not watched yet but wanted to write a comment before I forget. I would love to recommend Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. The amazing power of that book brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of God's unfailing love. A must read for everyone regardless of religion or belief.
Deborah Egbekpalu I wanted to recommend Redeeming Love to her also! Redeeming Love is my all time favorite book by Francine Rivers! I just bought her latest book The Masterpiece and I can't wait to be blown away again.
God Bless you!! Your channel is the type of stuff I look for on RU-vid! You inspire me esp when you said you gave up socia media! Keep making videos please
I encourage you to look into the background of the "Jesus Calling" books and it's author, the book was a result of automated writing, which is a dangerous new age practice. Doreen Virtue has talked about this topic on her channel as well as on her insta account.
I love your channel!!! I will definitely check out these books, however, I just wanted to let you know the Jesus Calling book was considered new age since the author was said to have been channeling Jesus. I've just come out the new age deception and am now following Jesus Christ and have been saved, I love him. I spotted this right away, it's said that the author of that book actually got the inspiration for that book from a new age book called God Calling and the way it is written in first person may be considered heresy. I hope I didnt upset you, I'm not doing this to be mean at all, your channel is awesome, I love your videos, they've helped me so much! Just wanted to bring it to your attention because warfare is real. God bless! ❤
I really really really want you to read Francine Rivers' books! She is my fav Christian author! Redeeming Love is my favorite book by far. Totally recommend, I know you will love it! :)
Kisses from Katie is awesome. Karen Kingsbury's books are amazing. I've read. SEVERAL. I have a series by Lynn Austin written around civil war time, but I'm so excited. I've also read until we reach home!!!
Lynn Austin is my fav author! Chronicles Of The Kings was my fav set, then The Restoration Chronicles. Some of it was hard to read but so worth it. My Gram, Mom, and Aunt all collect Lynn Austin, Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury, and Jan Karon. I'm going to look into Jesus Calling. Great video, thanks, and God Bless!!
I love your channel! Francine Rivers is my favorite Christian author! Redeeming love is my favorite book! The lineage of grace and sons of encouragement series are phenomenal as well!❤️❤️❤️
I look forward to your sharing of God's word, bible studies, books, everything😊. I especially love how your bible looks. Even tho worn looking, it shows that you really read, studied and enjoyed every minute. Don't ever get rid of it. The one thing that puzzles me, is this bible journaling? Where people draw or paint in the bible over the words, I'm sorry I don't get it. I read my bible and underline, highlight and write notes. But don't get the journaling part like that. Look forward to the next video❤
Bonnie Mullins do you have a KJV bible? I would stay away from that Jesus Calling books. Channeling is satanic I got one the day I was baptised, and I never could make myself read it. Then I found an article about why you should not read it. Remember, satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Besides, all you need is what's in the bible.
I've seen the I Peter Bible study and wondered about it! You have inspired me to really check it out! You have some great recommendations-- thank you! ☺️
You should check out Francine Rivers. She writes A voice in the wind (historical fiction) Redeeming love (it does mention mature themes like prostitution but it is super powerful and all about how much god does for us and how he loves us). I HIGHLY reccomend these two books.
"delete social media", wow... that's not easy, feel like doing a detox must be fun. may be I should try this ... really love your channel, you really inspired me thank God, He lead me to find that there's videos like this on RU-vid. God Bless you :)
You should read. I am N.... Its a bunch of true testimonies from people across the world who has been through so much and even perecuted for living for God. I read it 3 times and it touches my heart each time
i just bought jesus calling and i love how they have so many different covers!! i got the pink one and it's so pretty it makes me want to read it even more haha! i also got the angels walking series and am starting them rn :) thanks for the suggestions!!
Also, if you check out Bible studies from the library like I do, I reccommend writing both the questions and your responses in a journal so you won't deface the library's book.
Have you read Chalice of Israel it’s about an ancient cup inscribed with a scripture that has been passed through centuries from after Christ to modern Israel it’s really good I forgot the name of the author though
I definitely want to add these to my TBR (to be read for anyone who hasn't heard that acronym before) list. I love Jesus Calling. I also recommend a devo book called Ebraced by Lysa Terkherst. (Probably butchered the spelling of her last name. Lysa if you're reading this, I'm sorry!) Some others I love/am currently reading are: Rick Warren's Bible study guide Lit: A Christian Guide to reading Anything by Beverly Lewis (Amish fiction) The Action Bible (perfect for any kid who ever snuck a comic book into church, but also for others as well) Rachel's Tears by Beth Nimmo and Darrell Scott Red Letter Revolution Fervent by Priscilla Shirer
Hello from Nepal. Loving your videos, and a new member in your family. Wanted to place, a kind of a request, it's so hard to find and get a hand on christain books, it's so oo expensive and mainly is unavailable out here😢😢, any way to get a hand on used books free or in a lower cost.
There are so many awesome Christian fiction authors! Lynn Austin, Tessa Afshar, Bodie Theone, Jill Eileen Smith, Angela Hunt, I like reading books by different authors.. my fav genre is Biblical fiction and all these authors are amazing!!
Funny story that only Christians will understand...when I was 13 and already saved, I asked my mom (who is a none believer) if I could read the Left Behind series when she's done with it. She told me no because it would scare me. So I said okay and went up to my room and laughed, thinking that she clearly doesn't know what the books are about.
If you say that Jesus Calling is amazing,.. something is wrong with your spiritual discernment. If the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit dwells in you, how is it that you didn't notice this error? Be on your gard Ashley!
Watch out for that book Jesus Calling. It teaches to hear from God outside scripture! At the end it will lead you astray! It's occult and new age. Be warned!
Johan, I’m confused about part of your statement “to hear from God out of scripture “ … what do you mean by this? As I feel I hear from God thru prayer, thru my thoughts, that feeling in my stomach … I feel God speaks to me in many ways … not just thru the Bible. Please explain. Thank you
@@cindylewis7072 HI Cindy. I hope all is well with you. Good evening there. I assume you are from the States. Local time here is eigth o'clock in the morning. I am from Holland. I shall try to explain why I have said, that the book Jesus Calling is dangerous. First of all, hebrew 1:1 said that in these last days, God has spoken through His Son. The canon of Scripture is complete. From Genesis to Revelation. All we need to know, God gave it in Scripture. The complete speaking and Revelation of God in Scripture. The holy Spirit of God, illuminate the Word of God and brings it into remembrance when we read God's Word. You can't separate the Word and the Spirit. Scripture is sufficient for a godly and fruitful life to grow in knowing God and to be aquiped in serving Him. Can God's Spirit lead us through circumstances? Yes He can. But all so called speaking of God outside Scripture, dreams, visions etc, is dangerous dear sister. I am not condamming you, but to warn you for the danger. May the LORD bless you and keep you. Stick to the Word.
So disappointing to see Jesus Calling on the list of books you are recommeding to young girls. It might be a popular book, but so is 50 Shades of Grey. Popularity doesn't make it good for you. I'd recommend reading up on the problems with Jesus Calling - Tim Challies covers it really well. Bless.
