Love this list! There are a lot of refreshing inclusions here. The Joyous Science is my favourite of Nietzsche’s books, and a really accessible way of getting into him.

How could Nietzsche have intended the connotations of the word "gay" if he did not even write the book in English? The German word "fröhlich" has no connotations regarding sexual orientation.

cool list and cool channel. I'd recommend Byung Chul-Han -- Burn Out Society or others -- and I got a lot out of How to Live a Good Life : A Guide to Choosing your Personal Philosophy edited by Pigliucci, Cleary, and Kaufman.

@@AheadOfTheCurveVideos What about "The Gospel of Afranius" (praised in "Nature", no less!)? (I myself checked its efficiency on a couple of professional apologists, Matt Bilyeu and Tim Bayless from Reasonable Faith, and they don't know what to say, couldn't find any objection!)

oh yes, if you like history of western thought, Richard Tarnas -- Passion of the Western Mind is 💯

I have got the book 'The Origins of Knowledge and Imagination' by Jacob Bronowski. I have read the first 6 pages of the first chapter of Friedrich Nietzsche's book 'Beyond Good and Evil'. I agree that it is hard going. I'm a poor reader but most books I've read or looked at I found easier going. Cheers - Mike.

I will at some point... when that may be I am unsure. Though it's on my list and I gather it isn't too long to read... in any case, you can follow me on Goodreads to track the books I read (as well as for my written reviews) www.goodreads.com/user/show/108352571?ref=nav_profile_l Cheers!

True, though I put TGS because I think it's an easier and more accessible read. GOM is an excellent book though which adds a lot of context to Nietzsche's thought!
@dionysianapollomarx
@dionysianapollomarx Год назад
@@AheadOfTheCurveVideos yup, in GOM, he works out his concepts and vocabulary. TGS, however, is my favorite book from him, because it pretty much synthesizes all his ideas from before he left philology until he began getting into the neo-Kantians and Schopenhauer, only to return to the Presocratics, and it also shows further what ideas he would be developing and refining thereafter. Surprisingly, to me, reading the first sentence of the Preface to Human, All Too Human reads a lot like Wittgenstein in his conclusion to TLP but with balled up fists and so not as passive. Nietzsche says "One should only speak where one cannot remain silent, and only speak of what one has conquered." Good antidote to Dunning-Kruger's probably.

This guy lost me when he recommended Peter Singer. His nail polish doesn't help either. Other than that, I did listen to all his recommendations. He and his types live in a sort of a bubble composed of elites who simply converse with others in their tribe: It's a self-congratulatory society; an inner group fools. Peter Singer advocates infanticide; an abomination, but for this Britisher, he is a brilliant ethicist. Isaiah 5:20 reads: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!.

What does his nail polish have to do with the credibility of his recommendations?

All great points but to leave out the Greatest book Thinking And Destiny by Harold Percival??? And nevermind the basic instructions before leaving earth aka the by Baal @ Marcel Grauile's The Place Fox The Nommo created US before the Anunnaki/ Elohim enslaved US @ Mauro Biglino & The 5Th Kind channels. These elites are not worshipping Satan who does not and has never existed they are worshipping the Baaphomet one of x six sexual Archetypes between breeding Anunnaki males and females.
