This comment took me right back to that day. I’d kind of forgotten it being a couple of months ago now I still can’t understand how they got them so fast in March when it was soaking wet.

Nice vid…I played there at the weekend…off 11 (14 with slope) and shot 88 with a 7 and an 8! Was due to play the national on Sunday but binned it as the course was a mess with all the rain. Will be going back to play it in May…can’t wait!

@@tomrobertsgolf make the driver a strength, it getting there and was well behaved at the belfry…then just to get my handicap down, aiming for somewhere between 6-9…I think I’ve got a chance as I don’t actually play that much so I’m hoping more course time will see that falling to single figures🤔

Was a good watch Tom off the tee let you down and them greens corrr they looked sooo fast well done tho mate you looked like you enjoyed it it's nice to see a golfer not get to stressed and just move on to the next shot it's a hard thing to do

Cheers Billy. Glad you enjoyed. 100% on the day it felt like my putting was the big issue but looking back it was definitely driving. So many hazards out there though haha. Since I got injured last year I’ve learned to appreciate just being out and lucky enough to be playing, helps me stay less stressed. What’s your plan for your golf this year?

My plan for golf this yeah it to get down to a 18 handicap but also play courses that I haven't before hopefully that helps me to get it down

Absolutely savage course, when I played it May 2023 the greens were absolutely rapid but the course is so punishing off the tee, if you don’t have your driving game it’s a long day! The sausage rolls are ace though.

You've played Royston where the greens are quite quick but this level of course is something else altogether 😂. Years ago I played Royal Obidos in Portugal, a Seve Ballesteros course, water everywhere, multi level lighting fast greens. Absolutely destroyed me

I wouldn’t even put Royston in the tier of fast mate, they’re just super sloped being on the side of a hill. I played a couple places in Portugal, wentworth, sunningdale etc and they were fast but this blew them away. I think when I played Frilford Heath they kind of compared. Like you said unless you play fast greens a lot this kind of place will ruin you 😂

Cheers James. I tried haha, just could not get the speed of them and it made me putt scared. Stroke was so erratic. Next time 👍

One of the things I’ve really started to change with my golf is spending more time on the putting green before a round and it’s definitely helping me eliminate those dreaded 3 putts, getting down in 2 or less on each hole has made such a difference in scoring! 👍🏻

Played the brabazon in August, couldn’t believe how quick it was. Tee’s and pins were slightly further back compared to your video which made some holes and putts stupidly long and tough. People say add 13/15 shots onto your typical score. I scored awfully but similar to you thought I actually played ok! Great experience though

Arccos. Has a yearly subscription fee and you put sensors in your club. Believe you can track your shots manually for data on 18 birdies but never tried it. How’s your game coming?

Thanks for the reply , I’m just getting back into it after a long break , I was as low as 5 at one point but I’d probably say I’m near 15/16 handicap atm . But I like the idea of using these apps to keep track .

I would agree but usually my putting is the strongest part of my game. In another breath I do have a mallet putter arriving this week. Totally unrelated from this round 😂

Need to focus on consistency, swing path is all over the place on each strike which is tough as your losing a lot of distance off the tee, putting needs a lot of work too. Tough course thought

Weren't a million miles off with my original shout then. Didn't really factor in the greens. At least it's an experience issue rather than a skill thing. Just an excuse to play more champ courses I suppose 😂

11 handicap golfers are very capable of shooting 24 over as I showed here, a lot are not capable of showing the bad rounds publicly. That’s what this channel is and what it’ll stay. I’ll never just post the good rounds.
