It has been 3 years since I started this channel. Thank you for always leaving me warm comments. It is very encouraging. Before I started this channel, I was very depressed because of many failures in my life. This channel is my first success and it is because you support my channel, share it with your friends and travel through my videos. I feel like I have more friends all over the world now. Dear STJ, don't you find it ironic that depression gave you a vocation that offers so much joy? It has been such a fun adventure joining you on many interesting journeys. You gave us the Sunflower song, which has become nostalgic for your viewers too. I still smile seeing the employees with their flashing lights greeting or wishing bon voyage to the passengers. And I always wait for your "!!" when the food is special. Keep being your pleasant self. I did finally try Japanese curry. It was !!.

We had to add a trip on the Sunflower Kurenai from Osaka to Beppu thanks to you. Hearing the song in person made the trip even better and we did the glowstick goodbye to the crew upon departure as well. So fun! We were the only Americans on the ferry that trip and the crew were so surprised when we asked if they were going to play the song. Thank you for sharing your videos and experiences! It helped us curate our personalized trip to Japan and we had so much fun!

Recently I took the Shimmoji to Kobe Hankyu ferry with my small car. I did considered this Sunflower Oita to Kobe route but price-wise Hankyu beat Sunflower big time. My accommodation was Japanese room with WC.

Hey STJ just felt like saying this. Ive been following you from the coach bus video (the bus with cocoon type seats) and honestly u were the only way where i could relax myself. I love Japan more than anything else, Im just connected eternaly to Japan. I found your videos a way of quenching my thirst to visit Japan. Last two years I was too busy. I faced and had to take many major decisions that would decide the fate of my life, so I didnt have much time to see your videos. Lots changed since then. I found your sub channel and just subscribed to it. You started posting videos a lot more frequent. Today Ive completed everything there was to complete for me and now im here again to relax myself. I took the sunflower ferry from Tomakomai to ōarai in November last year and even if I was looking forward to, in all of the 18+ h, I did not hear the sunflower-song once. 😢 Thank you for bringing it back. 😅 And the food, I miss it so much. Japanese food is simply the best. Greetings from Germany!

Thanks for the content. I will visit Oita for the first time in December 2024. We will be flying though. I think a lot of people are fine with the small, standard room to sleep in. You can always hang out outside in the spacious lounges and other areas of a ferry.

We spent two weeks in Japan on holiday once years ago, and I regret now that we never took a single ferry. It would have been fun and also probably saved money. I took this boat during new years!! It was too busy on meimon taiyo so I decided to take this one, also in the bunk bed room! Really nice to be honest, I still have the slippers!
